MC100AML UNIVERSAL GARAGE DOOR OPENER REMOTE CONTROL

The Universal Garage Door Opener Remote
Control can be programmed to operate up to two motors. Each button on the remote control works independently of the other and must be programmed separately

WARNING

To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH from a moving door:
ALWAYS keep remote controls out of reach of children. NEVER permit children to operate or play with remote control transmitters.

  • Activate a door ONLY when it can be seen clearly, is properly adjusted and there are no obstructions.
  • ALWAYS keep a door in sight until completely closed. NEVER permit anyone to cross the path of a moving door or gate.

WARNING! This product contains a button/coin cell battery.
To prevent possible SERIOUS INJURY or DEATH:

  • The battery is hazardous.

  • Keep new and used batteries away from children.

  • Do not ingest battery. Chemical burn hazard.

  • If the coin cell battery is swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, it can cause severe or fatal injuries in 2 hours or less.

  • If the battery compartment does not close securely, stop using the product and keep away from children.

  •  If you think batteries might have been swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, call the 24-hour Poisons Information Centre on 13 11 26 in
    Australia, or the 24-hour National Poisons Centre on 0800 764 766 in
    New Zealand, or seek immediate medical attention.

  • Dispose of used coin/button cell batteries immediately and safely. Flat batteries can still be dangerous.

LOCATING THE LEARN BUTTON

In order to program the Universal Remote, the LEARN button on the garage door opener must be located. This will need to be activated during the programming sequence.
The LEARN button may also be labelled, CODE, CODE SET,
DOOR CODE, RADIO SET, ‘S’, or similar. Refer to your Opener Owner’s Manual for more information.

PROGRAMMING TIPS

NOTE: When programming a Merlin or Chamberlain Security+2.0 opener
follow the below steps:

  1. Press & release the LEARN button on the opener.
  2. Press & release the remote button you wish to program. The code has been learnt and the next press of the remote button should activate the door.

When programming two doors at the one site, we recommend programming the TOP button first. This is to avoid accidentally operating a preprogrammed door. Alternatively turn off any preprogrammed doors.
The Bottom Button is the PROGRAMMING button and is the only button that can commence the programming sequence, irrespective of which button you choose to control the door.
The operate buttons require a firm press, this is to eliminate accidental activation due to mishandling the remote.
This remote only operates with 433.92MHz radio control systems.

In order to program the Universal Remote, the LEARN button on the garage door opener must be located. Please refere to page 3 as well as the compatibility table on page 2 for the lean button label used for various brands.
These are generic instructions for most garage door openers, for
ATA branded openers refer to the instructions on page 5. Read through all steps before commencing, and become familiar with the control buttons.

Once the programming sequence has commenced its important to continue

from one step to another reasonably quickly. Time between steps is critical.

  • Start with your garage door closed. Ensure that the door is clear of all
  • Press and hold the Bottom Button (for approximately 15 seconds) on the remote control until the blue LED stays ON solid, then release the button. (The blue LED will remain ON for 60 seconds). Blue LED Bottom Button
  • Press the LEARN button on your garage door opener for 2-3 seconds, then release
  • Immediately Press & Release the remote control button you would like to The Blue LED will commence blinking for 12 seconds. Once the Blue LED changes to solid, immediately Press & Release the same button on the remote again. The remote will now try to pair to the opener.
  • The Blue LED on the remote control will begin to flash once every three seconds while trying to pair to the opener, (this may take up to 60 seconds). When the door begins moving, immediately (within 3 seconds) press the remote button again.
  • The coding process is complete and your remote should now be programmed to the garage door You can repeat this process using the other remote button to program another garage door opener.

TEST

Test the remote control by pressing the button you programmed to control the door. ATA BRANDED OPENERS

These programming instructions are for ATA branded garage door openers. Read through all steps before commencing, and become familiar with the control buttons. Once the programming sequence has commenced its important to continue from one step to another reasonably quickly. Time between some steps is critical.

  • Start with your garage door Ensure that the door is clear of all obstructions
  • Press and hold the Bottom Button on the remote control until the blue LED stays ON solid (approximately 15 seconds), then release the button. (The blue LED will remain ON for 60 seconds) Blue LED Bottom Button
  • Press and Hold the DOOR CODE button on the garage door opener

(Do not release the DOOR CODE button at this point).

Press and Release the remote control button you would like to program. The Blue LED will commence blinking for 12 seconds.
Once the Blue LED changes to solid, release the DOOR CODE button immediately and Press and Release the remote button you are programming.

  • The Blue LED will begin flashing once every three seconds. Wait until the door begins moving, and immediately press the remote button The coding process is complete and your remote should now be programmed to the garage door opener.
    You can repeat this process using the other remote button to program another garage door opener.

TEST

Test the remote control by pressing the button you programmed to control the door. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I program the other button on the Universal Remote Control?

After pressing the LEARN button on the motor, go through the same programming method using the other button. This process will not over write the first button. The initial 15 second press to put the remote into learn mode must be performed using the bottom button.

How do I erase previous codes and start fresh?

Codes cannot be erased, only overwritten. A newly programmed code will take the place of a previous code.

The remote control is not working, the LED is not illuminating.

The LED is also a power indicator, pressing a button on the remote should cause the LED to illuminate. If the LED does not illuminate after you press the button, replace the battery using a CR2032 battery.

How can I stop one button from operating two doors?

If one remote control button is operating two doors, you must clear the memory of the garage door opener that you do not want the button to activate.

Where is the LEARN button located on my opener?

The LEARN button can either be found on the garage door opener or on an external receiver. To locate the receiver look for an antenna, some receivers will require a cover be removed to gain access to the LEARN button.

The LEARN button is often a different colour to the other buttons, and may be labelled as CODE, CODE SET, DOOR CODE, RADIO SET, “S” or similar. Refer to your garage door opener manual for information on its location.

Is my garage door opener compatible with the Universal Remote Control?

Check the compatibility table located on page 2 or for the most up to date table visit chamberlaindiy.com.au/universal or chamberlaindiy.co.nz/universal.
The Universal remote operates on 433.92MHz systems only. If I change the battery in the remote control, will I have to reprogram it?
The remote control should retain its memory. If it does not, you will need to reprogram it.
