HEARTH HOME VOFBSD-36 Mesh Door Kits
Product Information
The VOFBSD-36 and VOFBSD-42 Mesh Door Kits are door models designed for use on the following fireplace models:
- VOBF36-T
- VOFB36-H
- VOFB42-T
- VOFB42-H
The door kit is made of sheet metal and features a mesh screen. It is important to note that the screen/mesh, glass doors, and other surfaces of the kit can become hot during operation and cool down. Therefore, caution must be exercised to avoid burns. Prior to the initial burning of the fireplace, it is necessary to clean all fingerprints and smudges from the viewable surfaces of the door kit. Failure to do so may result in these prints and smudges becoming permanently set into the finish. To maintain the finish, gently wipe with a soft cloth and, if desired, soap and water. Thinner or abrasive cleaners should never be used as they can damage the finish.
Installation of the door kit requires the use of protective gloves and safety glasses due to the risk of cuts and abrasions from the sharp sheet metal edges.
Product Usage Instructions
- Ensure you are wearing protective gloves and safety glasses during installation.
- Remove the existing screens from the fireplace by unscrewing the screen rod screws.
- Install the inner hood by using the bend tabs to locate it. Secure it in place using the two screws from the screen rods. Leave the original hood in place.
- Hang the door frame assembly into the four slots located on the firebox with the corresponding hooks on the door frame. Ensure that the door is fully down on the hooks, and there should be approximately a 1/2 inch gap on the bottom of the frame.
It is recommended to have two installers to handle the heavy door kit and place the front assembly in position.
Important safety precautions:
- Do not place combustible materials on the metal fireplace face or columns to avoid the risk of fire.
- Avoid touching the hot screen/mesh and glass doors to prevent burns.
Refer to Figure 1, Figure 2, Figure 3, and Figure 4 in the user manual for visual guidance during installation.
