Introduction
Thank you for purchasing this R200C-N1 Interconnected CO (carbon monoxide)
Alarm. If you purchased another Resideo interconnected alarm, please check
Section 11 for information. The
symbols above mean that the interconnected CO Alarm is suitable for use in
domestic premises (including static caravan holiday homes), caravans, motor
caravans and boats.
NOTE: This manual contains important safety information. Please store it
for future reference.
Where to install the interconnected CO alarm? (see page 2)
Ideally, an interconnected CO alarm should be installed in every room
containing a fuel-burning appliance and in a room where the occupant(s) spend
most time like the bedroom and study/hobby room. If there is a partition in a
room, the apparatus should be located on the same side of the partition as the
potential source. Carbon monoxide alarms in rooms with sloped ceilings should
be located at the high side of the room.
1- Ceiling mounting / 2- Wall mounting / 3- Bedroom / 4- Study/Hobby room
Where not to install the interconnected CO alarm?
In an enclosed space (for example in a cupboard or behind a curtain).
Where it can be obstructed (for example by furniture).
Directly above a sink, or in other damp or humid locations.
Next to a door or window.
Next to an air vent or other ventilation openings such as extractor fans.
In an area where the temperature may drop below -10 °C or exceed 40 °C.
Where dirt or dust may block the sensor.
In the immediate vicinity of a cooking appliance.
Installation (see page 3)
If you need to enable the tamper-proof locking feature, break off or cut off
the small cylinder (1).
Attach (2) the wall bracket to the wall or ceiling. Fit the interconnected CO
alarm onto the wall bracket (3). Press firmly against the wall plate and slide
(4) the device down. The device will be activated.
Activation
Within 5 seconds after installing, the device will be activated.
All indicators will flash, the sounder will beep and the device will enter a
warm-up state.
The interconnected CO alarm has been activated.
The green POWER light blinks once per second.
After 60 seconds, the green POWER light blinks once every minute.
The interconnected CO alarm is working normally.
For deactivation follow the instructions in Section 6.
Removal (see page 3)
Use a small screwdriver to press on the tamper-proof locking tab (5) located at the right edge of the device. Slide the device up (6) to remove it from the wall mounting plate. When removed the interconnected CO alarm from the wall mounting plate, the interconnected CO alarm enters “Deep Sleep” mode and no longer monitors carbon monoxide levels.
Recommended actions when CO alarm warning has been activated
If your interconnected CO alarm is signaling ALARM, keep calm, and carry out
the following actions in the order given:
Open all doors and windows to increase the rate of ventilation. Stop using all
fuel-burning appliances and turn them off where possible. If the
interconnected CO alarm continues, then evacuate the premises.
Leave the doors and windows open, and only re-enter the building when the
alarm has stopped. Get medical help for anyone suffering the effects of carbon
monoxide poisoning, such as headache or nausea, and advise that carbon
monoxide inhalation is suspected. Telephone the gas or other fuel supplier on
their emergency number, so that the source of carbon monoxide emissions can be
identified and corrected. Do not use the fuel-burning appliances again until
they have been checked and cleared for use by a competent person according to
national regulations.
Note: There may be another source of carbon monoxide emission apart from
fuel-burning appliances, for example, a large amount of tobacco smoke, town
gas, or emission from a smoldering fire. Do not use any combustion appliances
until they have been checked by a qualified person.

Health effects of carbon monoxide
~ – 00100 ppm: Slight headache, flushing of the skin (indefinite exposure).
200 – 00300 ppm: Headache (5-6 hour exposure)
400 – 00600 ppm: Severe headache, weakness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting (4-5
hour exposure)
1100 – 01500 ppm: Increased pulse and breathing rate, syncope (fainting),
coma, intermittent
- This CO alarm may not prevent the chronic effects of carbon monoxide exposure and will not fully safeguard individuals at special risk.
Wireless functions (see page 4)
Interconnect your alarms
a) Place the interconnected CO alarms as close as possible, not further than 5
meters apart.
b) Choose one CO alarm as Master. Press 3 times its TEST/SILENCE button. The
green light will turn on.
c) Choose another CO alarm as Slave. Press 3 times its TEST/SILENCE button.
The green light will turn on.
d) Wait for a few seconds until the slave device’s green light starts flashing
then a beep, indicating successful network pairing.
e) Repeat step b) for connecting more interconnected CO alarms.
NOTE: always use the same Master alarm for connecting additional Resideo
interconnected smoke, heat or carbon monoxide (CO) alarms, now and in the
future. Write down which interconnected alarm in your home is the Master.
After all the CO alarms are connected, the master CO alarm will automatically
exit the connect mode in 5 minutes. You can also press and hold the
TEST/SILENCE button to exit manually.
Test your interconnection
Hold down the test/silence button.
The initial interconnected CO alarm will beep continuously with the red
“ALARM” text indicator flashing.
Other interconnected CO alarms will receive the signal after few seconds, and
they will beep continuously with the red “ALARM” flashing.
Reset Connection
a) Press 4 times the test/silence button and the yellow LED will light up.
b) While the yellow light is on, press and hold the test/silence button again.
c) When you hear a chirp and the yellow LED turns off, the connection has been
reset successfully.
Connection fault
If the interconnected CO alarm connection fails, the green light will flash 3
times once every minute.
However, the CO alarm will still be able to effectively detect carbon
monoxide.
How to silence interconnected alarms
When an interconnected CO alarm has been activated, find the originating
interconnected CO alarm, which will be the one both emitting the audio signal
and displaying the “ALARM” message. Mute this originating alarm by pressing
its test/silence button, and within 2 minutes the remaining interconnected CO
alarms will go back to standby.
Note: if you press the test/silence button on one of the interconnected CO
alarms other than the originating alarm, it will NOT be silenced, the
remaining interconnected alarms will continue emitting sound until the primary
alarm is stopped.
Maintenance
The interconnected CO alarm does not require any maintenance other than to clean the outside case occasionally with a clean tissue. Ensure that the holes on the front of the interconnected CO alarm are not blocked with dust or dirt. We recommend manually testing the interconnected CO alarm once a month by pressing and holding the TEST/SILENE button. Due to the loudness of the alarm, make sure that you always stand at arm’s length distance from the unit when testing. If problems are found, the interconnected CO alarm switches to the error mode (either siren error or sensor error). Dust is a major cause of false alarms. Therefore, clean the interconnected CO alarm once a month. Use a vacuum cleaner to gently remove any accumulated dust along the sides of the interconnected CO alarm. Never use a wet cloth or detergent to clean your interconnected CO alarm, as this can be harmful to the sensor.
Warnings
This manual contains important safety information about the installation
and operation of the interconnected CO alarm. Read the manual carefully and
keep it in a safe place for future reference. The interconnected CO alarm
should be installed by a competent person. Intended for either fixed or
portable installation, with portable apparatus almost certainly powered by
internal batteries alone. Besides the usual siting considerations, special

properly positioned in relation to the ambient air being sampled. In addition,
the user should be cautioned against the intermittent operation of the
apparatus and dropping or damaging it whilst being relocated. Installation of
an interconnected alarm should not be used as a substitute for proper
installation, use, and maintenance of fuel-burning appliances including
appropriate ventilation and exhaust systems.
This interconnected CO alarm is not water resistant and is only suitable for
indoor use.
Do not try to repair the interconnected CO alarm, it has the risk of electric
shock or malfunction if the interconnected CO alarm is tampered with.
Do not expose the interconnected CO alarm and batteries to extreme
temperatures. Some common household substances can affect the sensitivity of
the interconnected CO alarm.
Do not use household cleaners, polishes, perfumes or aerosol sprays on or
close to the interconnected CO alarm.
Avoid the use of nail polish remover, model paint or model glue close to the
interconnected CO alarm. This interconnected CO alarm is designed to protect
individuals from the acute effects of carbon monoxide exposure.
It will not fully safeguard individuals with specific medical conditions.
If in doubt consult a medical practitioner.
Long exposure to low levels (>10 ppm) of CO may cause chronic effects.
If in doubt consult a medical practitioner.
