PRODUCT SERVICE

Preparation of grass trimmer to work

Attention! Before all mounting and regulatory operations, you should disconnect the grass trimmer from the power supply. Remove the battery pack from the power tool socket! Visually inspect the tool, If you notice any damage, do not start any work before repairing them.

Installation of the front handle
If the handle has not been fitted, then you should translate the holder through the guard of power cables, and, after that, lock its position with the lever. The handle position should be selected experimentally, to fit the physical condition of the operator and the area in which the trimmer will be used. The handle position should allow work with the hands bent at the elbows and straight back. It should also ensure the freedom of movement in the plane of trimmer work.

Installing the cutting element guard
Insert the shield latches in the trimmer cover, and then protect them with a screw. At the edge of the guard, there is a blade, which is used to automatically shorten the line. Before starting work, you should remove from it the guard.

Adjustment operations
In addition to adjusting the position of the front handle, the trimmer allows to adjustment of the length of the power supply wires, the turn of the lower part of the power supply wires, the rotation of the cutting head, and the adjustment of the cutting width.

It is possible to use a stepless setting of the length of the power cord cover, which translates into the length of the entire tool. Turn the ring (V) in the direction of the symbol of an open padlock, adjust the length, and rotate the ring in the direction of the closed padlock symbol. Make sure, that the length of the trimmer does not change spontaneously during work.

For more ergonomic usage of trimmer to edge mowing you can turn the bottom cover of the cords. To do this, you should pull the lock in the direction shown by the arrow (VI), hold it down, and then turn. There are two positions for locking i.e. 0 degrees and 180 degrees. Lower the lock ring and make sure that it returned to its starting position, and that the position of the power cord cover has been locked in a new position. In addition, it is possible to turn the cutting head alone by 90 degrees. To do this, press the button located on the head (IV). This will release of the lock, and the internal spring will begin rotation of the cutting head. You should manually rotate the head until it is locked in a new position. Restoration to its previous position is performed by pressing the button, and then, by manual rotation of the head until the moment of its locking in the previous position.

Due to this, the blade, which is used for automatic shortening of the cutting line, was placed on the eccentric, it is possible to rotate the blade, which will cause the step width change between the values listed in the table of technical data. The dial should be pressed, held down, and then rotated (XI), and the pressure in such a way that it would be locked in the position described by the required width of the cut.

When you are using the trimmer for vertical cutting of edges (X), you can use the auxiliary wheel, which is attached to the edge of the cutting element cover, this will facilitate the trimmer driving. During normal horizontal grass cutting it is recommended to use a spacer guard, which is located in the front of the cutting head. This will facilitate the protection of the vertical surface against being hit by the cutting line.

Replacing the line

To do this, you should pull the line segment, which is protruding from the spool, and then press the lock button of the spool (VII). Each time, when you press, the line unwinds a few millimeters. It is not recommended to unwind the line over a length sufficient to reach the blade guard. After starting the trimmer, the line segment, which extends beyond the blade guard, is cut.

If you will not be able to further unwind the line, this means, that the line on the spool is worn and it should be replaced.

You should prepare a line section with a length and diameter shown in the table. Then remove the spool cover cover by simultaneously pressing both buttons ot the lock cover (VIII). Pull out the spool, then clean it and clean the interior of the spool.

One end of the line should be attached to the spool, by threading it through the eyelet in the spool and tying (X). Then, in the remaining section of the line, you should slip tightly onto the spool in the direction indicated by the arrow on the spool. During the winding, you should avoid crossing beams and tangling of lines. Leave a section of several centimeters in length and thread it through the hole in the spool guard (IX). Mount the spool in the spool guard so that the arrow on the spool would point in the same direction as the arrow on the cover of the cutting element. Then mount the spool cover and see whether the line unwinds freely by the described above attempt to unwind.

Preparing the workplace
Before starting work, you should prepare for the workplace. Before starting the work you should assign a safety zone with a radius of at least 15 meters away from the place of work, which will not be accessible for bystanders. Make sure, that around the workplace there are no obstacles, which can cause ca ollision of the operator or grass trimmer during its operation.

Connecting the grass trimmer to power

  • Insert the battery into the power socket, with its pins facing to the inside of the shear and to the top, until the battery latches will lock.
  • Make sure, that the battery will not slip out during work. You should disconnect the battery by pressing and holding the latch, and then remove the battery from the grass trimmer housing.

Starting and stopping the grass trimmer

  • Make sure, that the battery is connected to the grass trimmer, that the cutting element guard,  was removed protection, and that the cutting element has no contact with any part of the body or other objects.
  • Adopt a position, that ensures balance. With one hand catch the front handle. With the other hand grasp the rear handle. Push with your thumb the lock switch, and press the switch with other fingers, this will start the trimmer.
  • During operation, it is not necessary to hold the lock.
  • The grass trimmer is stopped after releasing pressure on the switch. The cutting device can rotate for some time after the engine is stopped. It is forbidden to stop the cutting element by pressing it to the ground or another object.
  • After a complete stoppage of the cutting element, you should disconnect the shear from the power supply by disconnecting it from the battery. Then proceed to maintenance.

Work with the trimmer

  • Do not allow the operation of the device at low rev speeds or during startup.
  • It is recommended, to move the grass trimmer from right to left during its work. You should avoid mowing, by moving the trimmer from left to right. This will allow the operator to avoid, during cutting, the ejected remnants of cut grass.
  • Avoid mowing the shrubs and bushes. Working the grass trimmer near trees can damage their bark. Hitting with line stones, bricks, walls, or similar surfaces, can lead to very rapid wear of the line.
  • You should avoid cutting by the upper quadrant of the cutting element (IX). This will prevent situations when the grass trimmer is rebound in the direction of the operator in the event of blockage of the cutting element during operation.

Tips useful when working

  • You should ensure balance and proper posture while you work. Be extremely careful when working on slippery, sloping, or uneven ground.
  • During operation, the cutting element must be constantly monitored. Do not carry out the cut in places that are remaining out of sight.
  • Before you start your work, you should carefully inspect the workplace, and remove any loose branches and remnants of previous cutting.
  • When you work you should use regular breaks. The device, during its operation, emits noise and vibration, that affect the equipment operator. The use of regular breaks and personal protective equipment such as gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection can reduce the impact of the device operation on the operator’s condition.
  • You should start the work being healthy and in good shape. In the event of nausea, headache, or visual disturbances (e.g….. reduced
  • field of vision), hearing problems, and dizziness you should immediately stop working with the device.
  • Tall grass should be cut gradually from the top, this will reduce the risk of winding up of the cut grass on the line spool. Try to cut grass only by the end of the line, this will reduce the risk of winding up of the cut grass on the line spool.
  • If during the operation any element of the grass trimmer or guard becomes damaged or deformed, you should replace it or fix it before the start of the device operation.

Safety Recommendations for Battery Loading

Attention! Before loading may start make sure the body of the charger, the cable, and the plug are not broken or damaged. It is prohibited to use a damaged loading dock and charger! For loading batteries, only the charging dock and the charger provided may be used. Using another charger may be a cause of fire or damage to the tool. Batteries may be charged only in a dry room, protected from unauthorized persons, particularly children. Do not use the charging dock and the charger without the permanent supervision of an adult! If it is necessary to leave the room where loading is taking place, it is required to disconnect the charger from the mains, removing the charger from the mains socket. In case smoke comes out of the charger, or a strange smell is emitted, etc., it is required to immediately remove the plug of the charger from the main socket!

The drill and automatic return screwdriver are provided with an unloaded battery, so before work may commence, it is required to charge it following the procedure below, using the charger and charging dock provided. Li-ION batteries do not show the so-called “memory effect”, so it is allowed to charge at any moment. However, it is recommended to discharge them during normal work, and then load them to their full capacity. If due to the nature of the task it is not possible to do so each time, then it is required to do it at least from time to time. Under no circumstances is it allowed to discharge the batteries short-circuiting the electrodes, since this would cause irreversible damage! It is also prohibited to check the load of the batteries, short- circuiting the electrodes for sparking.

Storage of the battery
In order to prolong the life of the battery, it is required to provide adequate storage conditions. The batteries can go through ap- proximately 500 „loading – discharging” cycles. The battery must be stored between 0 and 30°C, at a relative humidity of 50%. To store the battery for a prolonged period, it is required to charge it to approximately 70% of its capacity. In case of prolonged storage, it is required to recharge the battery once a year. Do not permit excessive discharging of the battery, since this would reduce its life and may cause irreversible damage.

During storage, the battery will be gradually unloaded due to leakage conductance. The process of automatic unloading depends on the temperature of storage, since the higher the temperature, the faster the process. In case of incorrect storage of batteries, there is a danger of electrolyte leakage. In case of leakage, it is required to protect the leakage with a neutralizing agent. In case of contact of electrolyte with the eyes, it is required to rinse the eyes abundantly, and then immediately seek medical assistance. It is prohibited to use a tool with a damaged battery.

In case the battery is completely worn out, it is required to deposit it at a special point dedicated to the disposal of such waste.

Transport of the batteries
Lithium-ion batteries are by legal regulations treated as dangerous waste. The user of the tool may transport the tool with the battery or only batteries by land. Then no additional conditions must be complied with. If transport is realized by third parties (for example dispatch through courier service), then it is required to proceed by regulations for the transport of dangerous materials. Before shipment, contact an authorized person.

It is prohibited to transport damaged batteries. During transport, the battery must be removed from the tool, and the exposed contacts protected, e.g. with insulating tape. Protect the batteries so that they do not move inside the package during transport. It is also required to comply with national regulations for the transport of dangerous materials.

Charging the battery

Attention! Before charging you should disconnect the charger from the mains by unplugging the power supply plug from the mains. In addition, you should clean the battery and its terminals of dirt and dust with a soft, dry cloth. The battery has a built-in charge indicator. When you press the button, LEDs will light up (XIV), the more LEDs will light up, the more fully the battery pack is charged. If the button is pressed and the LEDs are off it means that the battery is discharged. Disconnect the battery from the tool.

  • Push the battery in the charger socket (XIV). Plug the charger into a mains socket.
  • When the red LED lights up, it means the loading process.
  • When charging is complete, the red LED goes off, and the green LED lights up, indicating a full charge of the battery. Unplug the charger from the main outlet.
  • Remove the battery from the charging station, by pressing the battery latch button.
  • Attention! If, when the charger is connected to the power supply, the green LED is on, this indicates a fully charged battery. In this case, the charger does not start charging.

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE OF THE PRODUCT ****

Attention! Before starting any operation, which is described below, you should switch off the grass trimmer from its power supply, The tool, which is mainly powered, should be disconnected from the wall outlet, and the tool, which is battery operated, should be disconnected from the battery.

After each use, you should examine your tool condition with particular emphasis on the patency of the ventilation openings. Check the alignment of all elements of the tool. Any loose connections should be tightened. Check the status of the cutting element. The cutting element guard and the spool should be clean of grass debris. If you notice damage to the cutting element guard and/or to the spool, they must be replaced before further work. It is forbidden to use the trimmer with a damaged cutting element guard and/or damaged spool.

The tool housing should be cleaned with a soft dry cloth. Clean the housing of residual grass, oil, grease, and other contaminants. The tool should be stored in a dry, closed room, disconnected from the power supply.
