Product Information

The 32 cu. ft. 3-Door French Door Refrigerator (Model RF32CG5100) is a standard-depth refrigerator that measures 35 3/4 inches in width, 29 1/2 inches in depth without the door, and 44 inches with the drawer open. With the door handle, the depth measures 36 1/4 inches. The height without the hinge is 68 7/8 inches, and with the hinge, it is 70 inches. The refrigerator is designed to fit a 36-inch opening and has a depth that allows the door to open 90 degrees without the handle contacting the wall.

Standard-depth refrigerators typically measure between 30 to 35 inches in depth, making them slightly deeper than counter-depth refrigerators that sit flush with cabinetry. It is important to measure the height, width, and depth including flooring, countertop overhang, molding, or trim to ensure proper installation and clearance.

For optimal usage and the ability to open the refrigerator doors completely, it is recommended not to install the refrigerator next to a wall. Adequate clearance should be provided at the rear for proper air circulation and water/electrical connections (minimum of 2 inches) and at the sides and top for ease of installation.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the refrigerator will fit in the desired location by measuring the width (including countertop overhang), depth (including molding or trim), and height (including flooring and hinge clearance if needed).
  2. Allow a minimum clearance of 2 inches at the rear of the refrigerator for proper air circulation and connections.
  3. Allow a minimum clearance at the sides and top of the refrigerator for ease of installation.
  4. Avoid installing the refrigerator next to a wall to ensure the doors can be opened completely.
  5. If the refrigerator needs to be transported to a specific location, walk the delivery route and identify the narrowest opening it needs to pass through. Ensure that the appliance’s depth or width is smaller than the width of the narrowest opening.
