Heating cable for hardening/frost protection of concrete
- Keep heating coil in heated area. The installation will then be easier.
- Roll out the cable on the bottom reinforcement.
- Lash loosely. Use tape or plastic-coated lash thread. Machine can be used with loose settings.
- The cables must not be crossed. Minimum spacing between cables 15 cm.
- Warning! The cable is not to be in contact with non-conducting composition as cellular plastic, mineral wool, or similar.
- The whole heating cable length is to be moulded in, including the cold cable splice.
- The cable is to be taken in use immediately after moulding. (Before moulding, you must only connect the cable for short time tests).

- In combination with a 10 mm concrete covering, the effect can be reduced by up to 50 % (50 W/m², c/c 76 cm).
Plan the surface on the basis of your required output/m2. Try to keep the connection ends close to each other. If the central BHS unit is used, the spiral hose (item no. 8960541) has to be attached between two heat cables and in the centre of the cast concrete. It is used for the sensor cable.
Heating
The BHS system can also be used to heat building structures, assuming they
have been correctly insulated. As heat accumulates in concrete, it is
advantageous to connect the system up only at night when the electricity rates
are favourable. The temperature is controlled via the thermostat of the
central BHS unit (item no. 2466233) which also has a timer function.
Drying
If the system is used for drying, the cables must be connected pair-wise in
series, so that only a quarter of the output is utilised. The series
connection adapter (art no. 2403033) allows this to be done in a simple way.

BHS cables with a length of 3.3 m (E 89 604 97) are used predominantly when
casting pillars. Four cables are placed in this case.
