  • Thank you for purchasing this Toshiba air conditioner. Please read carefully through these instructions that contain important information which complies with the “Machinery Directive 2006 / 42 / EC”, and ensure that you understand them. After completing the installation work, hand over this Instruction Manual as well as the Owner’s Manual provided with the outdoor unit to the user, and ask the user to keep them in a safe place for future reference.
  • This kit includes a nickel-metal hydride battery (NiMH). For your safety, please read this Instruction Manual carefully and handle it with care.
  • Do not connect anything except TOSHIBA Flow Selector unit or Shut-off Valve unit. Do not use it for other equipment.
  • For the installation method, see the Installation Manual of Flow Selector unit / Shut-off Valve unit and install correctly.
  • Keep this Instruction Manual in a safe place.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by person (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.

1. Precautions for safety

  WARNING


  • Ask an authorized dealer or qualified installation professional to install / maintain the air conditioner. Inappropriate installation may result in electric shock or fire.
  • Turn off the main power supply switch or breaker before attempting any electrical work. Make sure all power switches are off. It may cause electric shock.
  • Do not touch this kit for at least 1 minute after disconnecting power supply at servicing.
  • Charging is done automatically when this kit is installed to Flow Selector unit. Do not charge with other chargers. It may cause battery leakage, heat generation, or explosion.
  • If the remote control indicates a notice or if a defect is found during regular inspection. Replace Battery kit with a new one.
  • Do not disassemble or modify the battery. In particular, do not solder or electrical short the battery directly. Also, do not peel off or scratch the outer tube.
  • Do not connect the Battery kit to each other. Do not connect the battery to each other.
  • When handling the Battery kit during installation, be careful not to mix metal such as wires and hairpins.
  • Do not throw it into a fire or heat it. It may cause the battery to explode or catch fire.
  • Do not cover the sheet metal case of the Battery kit or the battery with tape or a bag. The degassing structure will be blocked, and the gas generated inside will not escape, causing the case to explode.
  • Do not immerse the battery in water or seawater, and do not touch it with wet hands. It may cause the battery to generate heat or rust the battery terminals.
  • Do not use if you notice an abnormality such as liquid leakage.
  • Do not carry the Battery kit with holding the connectors or leads.
  • Do not use or leave it in direct sunlight, in a car under the scorching sun, in front of a stove, or in a hot place. It may cause battery leakage and deterioration of performance and life.
  • Store in a dry place free of corrosive gas. Outside the storage temperature range or in places with extremely high humidity. It may cause battery leakage or rust on metal parts.
  • Do not place anything on the Battery kit or place the Battery kit where it can easily fall. It may cause overheating, fire, or electric shock.
  • Keep out of the reach of children. It may cause injury, battery leakage, heat generation, or explosion.
  • Do not use or store outside the allowable temperature range.
  • Do not replace the battery alone. In particular, never use different batteries. It may cause battery leakage, heat generation, or explosion.
  • Do not give a strong impact or throw. It may cause injury, battery leakage, heat generation, or explosion.
  • Do not remove the Battery kit from its original packaging until required for use.
  • If leaked liquid gets into your eyes, rinse thoroughly with clean water without rubbing and seek medical attention immediately. It may cause blindness.
  • If the alkaline solution leaked from the battery gets on your hands or clothes, immediately wash it off with clean water.
  • Do not disassemble the Battery kit, except to dispose of the battery.

3. Disposal method

  • Disassemble the nickel-metal hydride battery (NiMH) built into this product and dispose of it or recycle it in accordance with the laws and regulations of your country / region.
  • When disposing of batteries, keep batteries of different electrochemical systems separate from each other.
How to disassemble
  1. Remove the wiring connector of Battery kit from the Flow Selector unit / Shut-off Valve unit PC board.
  2. Remove the 2 screws from the electrical control box of the Flow Selector unit / Shut-off Valve unit and remove the Battery kit.
  3. Remove the 2 screws for fixing the Battery kit sheet metal cover.
  4. Remove the fixing screws for resin parts.
  5. Disconnect the battery wiring connector from the PC board, Battery removal completed.
