JBC CA-9QF 100V Feed Solder Station
Product Information
The Manual-Feed Soldering Station is a soldering tool that is available in three different voltage options: CA-9QF (100V), CA-1QF (120V), and CA-2QF (230V). It comes with various accessories including a power cord, brass wool, sponge, solder reel, and a manual. The soldering station features an adjustable tool holder, cartridge holder, tip aligner display, adjustable cable collector, tip cleaner with an antisplash membrane, and a wiper. It also includes an AP250 Manual-Feed Soldering Iron with a main switch, fuse power socket, equipotential connector, earth fuse, USB-B connector, and fume extractor connector.
Product Usage Instructions
- Tool Holder and Cable Collector:
The tool holder (ref. 0X0X1X47X0X6X) should be adjusted according to your preference. The cable collector (ref. CC1001) should be used to keep the cable away from the work area and prevent it from disturbing you while soldering. Insert the cable into the cable collector clip and ensure it is not longer than necessary.
- Tip Cleaner and Wiper:
The tip cleaner, which contains brass wool (ref. CL6210), can be used to clean the soldering iron tip. It is recommended to clean the tip first with the wiper (ref. CL7984) to remove excess solder. The brass wool leaves a small layer of solder on the tip to prevent oxidation between cleaning and rewetting. If the tip is very dirty, JBC recommends using the wiper first before using the tip cleaner.
- Wool/Brush Replacement:
To replace the worn brass wool/brush, follow these steps:
- Unlock the splashguard.
- Lift off the splashguard and change the worn brass wool/brush for a new one.
Note: There are additional cleaning options available, such as using inox wool (ref. CL6205) or a metal brush (ref. CL6220), which are sold separately.
- Changing Cartridges:
To change a cartridge safely, follow these guidelines:
- Unplug the tool or turn off the station.
- Loosen the screw and remove the cartridge using PLR195 pliers if it is still hot.
- Insert the new cartridge as far as the mark for a correct connection.

loosening or tightening the knob
The metal top detects the tool and activates Sleep & Hibernation modes.
Cable Collector
The cable collector (ref. CC1001) keeps the cable away from the work area and
prevents the weight of the cable from disturbing the operator while soldering.
Insert the cable into the cable collector clip. Do not leave the cable longer than necessary to reach the work area freely.
The cable collector is flexible. It accompanies and adapts to the movements during the soldering process
Tip Cleaner
Select the option to suit your needs and improve the thermal transfer of the
tip.

Changing Cartridges
To change a catridge safely, unplug the tool or turn off the station before
following these guidelines.
-
RemovingLoosen the screw and remove the cartridge.
Use PLR195 pliers if it is still hot -
Inserting Important: Insert the cartridge as far as the mark for a correct connection.
-
Aligning Align the cartridge tip with the feeder nozzle. Use PLR195 pliers for a correct tip alignment.
-
Fixing Important: Tighten the screw again. This is necessary for the tool to function. Being careful not to over-tighten
Compatible Cartridges
CA stations work with C250 cartridges and AP250 Solder Feed Irons.

Replacing Solder Wire
- Removing Pull out the remaining solder wire from the feed tube. Use a pliers if necessary
- Replacing Remove the empty reel as shown and fit the new one in the same direction as the spool you removed.
- Inserting Insert the solder wire while pushing the trigger repeatedly until the solder wire appears at the nozzle.
Note: Use solder wire ø 0.8 – 1.0 mm with Nozzle Ref. 0019212 and ø 1.1 – 1.5 mm with Ref. 0019211.
Changing Feeder Nozzle
Unplug the tool or turn off the station before following these guidelines
- Unscrew the rear screw, than remove the reel and the solder wire from the nozzle
- Unscrew the two screws on the other side of the solder feeder.
- Remove the srews and lift off the cover.
- Take out the feeder nozzle and replace it with the new one while holding the three components (trigger, slider and lever), identified in the picture, in place. Reassemble the cover and tighten the three screws.
Note: Do not disassemble these 3 components and it is imperative to hold them in its place.
Regulating Feeder Nozzle
- Depending on the cartridge used and the component to be soldered, you can vary the feeder nozzle length up to 10mm.
- Adjust the feeder nozzle length and tighten the screw
Operation
JBC’s Most Efficient Soldering System
This revolutionary technology is able to recover tip temperature extremely
quickly. This allows the user to work at a lower temperature. As a result, tip
life is five times longer than with other brands.
-
WorkWhen the tool is lifted from the stand the tip will heat up to the selected temperature.
Tool Settings:- Operating Temp.
Select temperature between 90 and 450 ºC using:
(steps of ±5 ºC / ºF)
(steps of ±50 ºC / ºF)

Update the station software via USB connection:
Maintenance
Before carrying out maintenance, always switch the device off and disconnect
it from the mains.
Allow the equipment to cool down.
- Clean the station display with a glass cleaner or a damp cloth.
- Use a damp cloth to clean the casing and the tool.
- Alcohol can only be used to clean the metal parts.
- Periodically check that the metal parts of the tool and the tool holder are clean so that the station can detect the tool’s status.
- Maintain the tip surface clean and tinned before storage to avoid tip oxidation. Rusty and dirty surfaces reduce heat transfer to the solder joint.
- Periodically check all cables.
- Replace any defective or damaged pieces. Only use original JBC spare parts.
- Repairs should only be performed by a JBC authorized technical service.
- When this warning appears on the main display, earthing fuse must be replaced.
Replace a blown fuse as follows (applies to both the earthing fuse and the main fuse):
- Pull off the fuse holder and remove the fuse. If necessary, use a tool to lever it off.
- Insert the new fuse into the fuse holder and return it to the station.
Safety
It is imperative to follow safety guidelines to prevent electric shock,
injury, fire or explosion.
-
Do not use the units for any purpose other than soldering or rework. Incorrect use may cause a fire.
-
The power cord must be plugged into approved bases. Be sure that it is properly grounded before use. When unplugging it, hold the plug, not the wire.
-
Do not work on electrically live parts.
-
The tool should be placed in the stand when not in use in order to activate the sleep mode. The soldering tip or nozzle, the metal part of the tool and the stand may still be hot even when the station is turned off. Handle with care, including when adjusting the stand position.
-
Do not leave the appliance unattended when it is on.
-
Do not cover the ventilation grills. Heat can cause inflammable products to ignite.
-
Avoid flux coming into contact with skin or eyes to prevent irritation.
-
Be careful with the fumes produced when soldering.
-
Keep your workplace clean and tidy. Wear appropriate protection glasses and gloves when working to avoid personal harm.
-
Utmost care must be taken with liquid tin waste which can cause burns.
-
