NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS SCXI-1372 Dual Rack-Mount Kit

Product Information

The SCXI-2000 is a dual rack-mount kit designed to attach to two SCXI-1000, SCXI-1000DC, or SCXI-2000 chassis. It allows for mounting these chassis in a standard 19 in. rack. The kit includes multiposition rack-mount brackets that provide six different positions for the chassis, allowing users to achieve the desired front panel depth.

What You Need to Get Started:

  • SCXI-1372 dual rack-mount kit
  • Two rack-mount brackets
  • Eight 8-32 by 5/16 in. Phillips flathead screws
  • Four 10-32 by 1/2 in. Phillips pan head screws
  • Two joiner brackets for the 4-slot SCXI-1372 chassis
  • Eight 6-32 by 1/4 in. Phillips flathead screws
  • No. 2 Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Two SCXI chassis

Product Usage Instructions

Attaching the Joiner Brackets to the SCXI Chassis:

  1. Turn off the power of the SCXI chassis.
  2. Using four 8-32 screws and two 6-32 screws, attach each joiner bracket to a 4-slot SCXI chassis.

Rack-Mount Kit Installation:

  1. Use four 6-32 screws to attach the two joiner brackets to each other.
  2. Use the other four 8-32 screws to attach the two rack-mount brackets to your SCXI chassis.
  3. Use two 6-32 screws to secure the rack-mount brackets to your SCXI chassis when they are in positions 1, 2, 3, or 4.
  4. Use the four 10-32 screws to attach the assembly to your rack.

Introduction

You can use the SCXI-1372 dual rack-mount kit to mount two SCXI-1000, SCXI- 1000DC, or SCXI-2000 chassis in a standard 19 in. rack. With the multiposition rack-mount brackets, you can install the SCXI chassis in one of six different positions to attain the desired front panel depth.

    • Eight 8-32 by 5/16 in. Phillips flathead screws
    • Four 10-32 by 1/2 in. Phillips panhead screws
    • Two joiner brackets for the 4-slot SCXI-1372 chassis
    • Eight 6-32 by 1/4 in. Phillips flathead screws

  • Two SCXI chassis

Installation

Refer to Figures 1 and 2 as you perform the following installation steps. The rack-mount brackets (item 4 in Figure 2) can be mounted in one of six positions to attain different depths. For detailed measurements of the SCXI chassis, refer to Appendix A, Specifications, of the SCXI Chassis User Manual. Item numbers refer to the labels in the figures.

Refer to Figure 1 as you perform the following steps:

  1. Turn off the SCXI chassis power.

  2. Using four 8-32 screws (item 1) and two 6-32 screws (item 3), attach each joiner bracket (item 2) to a 4-slot SCXI chassis.
    Refer to Figure 2 as you perform the following steps:

  3. Use four 6-32 screws (item 1) to attach the two joiner brackets (item 2) to each other.

  4. Use the other four 8-32 screws (item 5) to attach the two rack-mount brackets (item 4) to your SCXI chassis.

  5. Use two 6-32 screws (item 6) to secure the rack-mount brackets (item 4) to your SCXI chassis when they are in positions 1, 2, 3, or 4.

  6. Use the four 10-32 screws (item 3) to attach the assembly to your rack.
