MI-HEAT C16 Digital Thermostat

Range of application

The thermostat is used to control water-based underfloor heating systems, electric underfloor heating or other electric heating devices.

Safety instructions and measures
  • Please read these operating manual carefully before using the product for the first time.
  • Use the product strictly as intended, as described in the operating instructions.
  • To avoid electric shock, never immerse the unit in water or other liquids.
  • Make sure that the main voltage in your home matches the operating voltage indicated on the rating plate.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and/or knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Do not use the appliance if there is obvious damage, for example to the casing or the electrical components or contacts.
Main Menu

All relevant settings for smooth operation are made in the menu. To enter the main menu, press the main button “ ” to turn on the thermostat and immediately after the menu button “ ” for 1 second. You are now in the main menu. If the Thermostat was in the ON state, it must be turned Off and ON again. You can switch tot he next menupoint whit the menu button “ ” . The settings can be adjusted or changed whit the UP/DOWN buttons. If a change is not desired, the menu button can be used to switch tot he next item.

The desired area of application is defined here| IN – Internal sensor
Out – External sensor
ALL – both sensors| Internal-sensor
Internal sensor (IN): is for operation when measurement is to be made only via the room sensor.
External sensor (OUT): is for operation when measurement is to be made only via the floor sensor.
Beide Sensoren (ALL): is for operation with both sensors, the floor sensor has priority.

Switching hysteresis, is the C° value in which the temperature range may move.

Switching hysteresis, is the C° value in which the temperature range may move. For example, if the desired temperature is set to 21C° and the hysteresis is set to 3C°, the thermostat would turn on at about 19.5C° and turn off at 22.5C°.

Settings and date/time of day

A long press of the clock button “ ” takes you to the date/time menu.

Set the day of the week at the top of the screen, 1 for Monday, 2 for Tuesday and so on. Press the “ ” button again to enter the hour menu. You can change the settings whit the UP/DOWN arrow-buttons. Confirmation is made with the “ ” button.

Heating mode

The menu button “ ” (thermostat in ON mode) allows to select the heating mode between auto and manual. If Auto mode is selected, the left edge of the screen will show “WEEK” active. The “WEEK” display changes to “STAGE” every few seconds. “STAGE” shows the current heating period of the day and the preset temperature.

Programming a weekly program for the Auto mode

A set weekly program enables heating of the living rooms according to demand. This is stored in the thermostat and remains even after a power failure.

The desired day sequence is stored in the main menu under the menu item “PrG” (see table above). A long press (5 seconds) of the menu button “ ” (operating state of the thermostat On) takes you to the programming menu for the Auto mode. Use the up / down arrow keys to set the first heating phase, hours and minutes. This is confirmed by pressing the menu button again. You will then be prompted to enter the desired temperature. 6 switching points per day sequence can be set.

Child lock

The child lock is activated and deactivated by pressing the “ ” and “ ” keys for 2 seconds.

The device may only be installed by a qualified electrician in accordance with the wiring diagram. The existing safety regulations must be observed. To achieve protection class II, appropriate installation measures must be taken, see VDE0100. This independently mountable device is used only to control the temperature in exclusively dry rooms with usual environment.

Note:
The application-related device combination of the room thermostat C16 is to be used exclusively with the external temperature sensor
(sensor) 10kOhm to be used. If the room thermostat is used with another sensor (from a different manufacturer), any warranty will be voided.
