Product Information

The Ardo Pumpsets and accessories are designed for the expression, collection, and storage of breast milk. The pump sets can be used as single or double pump sets and are compatible with Ardo breast pumps. The package includes a pump set with various components such as an adapter tube cover, flexible membrane pot, breast shell, lip valve, spare valve, bottle (150 ml), tube, tube connector, cap, and cap liner. Supplementary accessories such as different sizes of breast shells and Optiflow massage inserts are also available.

Product Usage Instructions

Packaging contents: Open the package and check the contents. It should include all the components mentioned in the user manual.
Assembling the pump set: Follow the provided illustration to assemble the pump set. Attach the adapter tube cover, ensuring that both marks match up, and then rotate it to the right. Boil the pump set before first use. Check the flexible membrane pot for any damage before using it, making sure the smooth side is facing outwards. Insert the active Optiflow massage insert into the appropriate breast shell size and fix it by rotating slightly.
Cleaning at home: Wash your hands thoroughly before handling the pump set. Refer to section 6 of the user manual for detailed instructions on cleaning the pump set at home.
Cleaning in hospitals: This section is applicable only for the Clinic Pumpset. Follow the provided instructions in section 7 of the user manual for cleaning the pump set in hospitals.
Use: Sit in a comfortable and relaxed position before using the pump set. Refer to section 8 of the user manual for detailed usage instructions.
Choosing a breast shell and Optiflow massage insert: Select the appropriate breast shell size based on your comfort level. If your nipple rubs uncomfortably on the inside of the funnel, use a larger breast shell. If the areola is also sucked into the funnel, use a smaller breast shell. The Optiflow massage insert can only be used with the 31 mm breast shell. Store the Optiflow insert protected from light.
Storing breast milk: Refer to section 10 of the user manual for detailed instructions on storing breast milk.

The choice of two Ardo breast shells and breast shell inserts enables you to find the size that is right for your nipples. The Ardo Optiflow massage insert guarantees even gentler expression and the massage effect encourages the flow of milk (can only be used with the 31 mm breast shell). The bottle holder is compatible with the Calypso Double Plus breast pump and the bottle stand is compatible with Calypso and Ardo Alyssa.

Intended use
The Ardo pump set should be used in combination with the Ardo breast pumps and is intended for the expression, collection, and storage of breast milk. The pump set can be used as a single or double pump set.

User risk

There are no known contraindications.

Safety regulations:
Only use the pump set if it is clean (Sections 6 and 7). Check the pump set for damage after cleaning.

According to Regulation (EU) 2017/745 on medical devices, any serious incidents that occur in connection with the product must be reported to the manufacturer and the competent authorities of the Member State in which the user resides.

Assembling the pump set

Assemble as illustrated. Attach the adapter tube cover so that both marks match up and then rotate to the right.

Important:
Boil before first use (see the section ‘Cleaning at home’) and check whether the flexible membrane pot is intact with the smooth side facing outwards.

Cleaning at home

After each use, wash the pump set with dishwashing liquid and rinse well. Once a day, disassemble the pump set and boil the parts for 10 minutes or clean in the dishwasher, microwave (in the microwave bag) or steam steriliser (follow the manufacturer’s instructions), then dry with a clean cloth and cover.

This product can be washed and re-used 40 times.

ATTENTION: After boiling, allow the parts to cool down before you touch them.

The illustrated parts can be wiped down with a cloth as needed. It is not necessary to flush the tube.
Do not boil the bottle holder.
Do not clean the lip valve with a brush.

Cleaning in hospitals (only for the Clinic Pumpset)
Sterilize the disassembled pump set at 121°C (250°F) for 20 min / 134°C (273°F) for 5 min.

Use

Wash your hands thoroughly. Sit in a comfortable and relaxed position.

Expressing with one pump set

Connect the pump set to the Ardo breast pump.
Centre your nipple so that it moves freely in the breast shell (breast shell insert) when pumping.
Switch the breast pump on.

Expressing with a double pump set

Connect the second pump set to the Ardo breast pump.
Procedure for the Ardo Carum, Ardo Alyssa, and Ardo Bellis breast pumps: Place a pumpset on the breast, switch the pump on and place the second pumpset on the other breast. Alternatively, you can also attach both pump sets at the same time.
Procedure for the Ardo Calypso breast pump: Attach both pump sets at the same time (see illustration). Switch the pump on and hold each pumpset separately in your hands.

Choosing a breast shell and Optiflow massage insert

If your nipple rubs uncomfortably on the inside of the funnel, use a larger breast shell (breast shell insert). If the areola is also sucked into the funnel, use a smaller breast shell. The Optiflow can only be used with the 31 mm breast shell. Store the Optiflow insert protected from light (silicone).

Storing breast milk

Recommended storage period at room temperature: 3–4 hours at 16–29°C (60–85°F); in the refrigerator: 3 days at ≤4°C (39°F); in the freezer: 6 months to 1 year at <-17°C (0°F)

ATTENTION:
Do not put more than 150 ml of breast milk in the bottle because milk expands when it freezes. Do not heat breast milk in the microwave.

Possible problems and troubleshooting

Weak or no vacuum:

Ensure that the pumpset is correctly assembled and is not damaged.
Check if the lip valve is cracked or stuck together.
Check if the flexible membrane pot is intact with the smooth side facing outwards.
Ensure that the adapter tube cover forms a tight seal.

Pain when pumping:

Ensure that the nipple is in the middle of the breast shell.
Check that the breast shell size is right for your nipples.
Check that the vacuum intensity is not set too high.

Warranty

There are legally prescribed minimum warranty periods from the date of purchase that are specific for each country. The warranty coverage is limited to the first purchaser.
