Safety
The Bassboy-powered subwoofer is designed to enhance your audio experience. To
ensure safe and proper usage, please read the following important safety
instructions:
- Do not overexpose the speaker to rain or moisture to reduce the risk of fire or electric shock.
- Connect only to a mains power supply with a protective earthing connection.
- Do not remove the rear amplifier cover or attempt to open the speaker as there are no user-serviceable parts inside. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Do not operate or store near water.
- Do not expose the speaker to dripping or splashing liquid, and ensure that no objects containing liquid are placed on this speaker.
- Clean only with a dry cloth.
- Do not install or operate near any heat sources such as radiators, gas heaters, stoves, or other heating apparatus.
- Only use attachments and accessories specified by the manufacturer.
- Do not block any ventilation openings, including sound ports.
- Install in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Do not obstruct or remove the ground plug from the speaker, doing so may cause electric shock resulting in serious injury or death.
- Protect the power cord from being walked on, pinched, or rolled over.
- Unplug the subwoofer during electrical storms and power outages.
- Refer all servicing to a qualified service technician if the speaker no longer operates, fails to power on, has a distorted sound, or emits an electrical smell or sound.
- To completely disconnect the AC power from this speaker, the power supply cord must be unplugged.
Precautions
It is important to follow these precautions when using the Bassboy-powered
subwoofer:
- The subwoofer is not designed to be suspended or flown. It should be placed on the ground or a secure platform capable of holding its weight.

Precautions
If an AVE subwoofer is used outdoors on a sunny day, ensure that it is in a shaded area and is well-ventilated to help prevent overheating. Do not use AVE subwoofers in environments that are below 0°C OR exceed +40°C. AVE subwoofers are capable of generating a sound pressure level (SPL) sufficient to cause permanent hearing damage to anyone within normal coverage distance. Caution should be taken to avoid prolonged exposure to SPL levels exceeding 90dB.
Suspension
The AVE subwoofers are not designed to be suspended or flown. The recommended mounting position is on the ground or secure platform capable of holding the weight of the subwoofer.

Powering the sub is a highly efficient 600W Class-D amplifier that provides ample power even at low volumes. And features a bass reflex design fitted with a custom 12ʺ neodymium woofer and large port allowing for improved airflow and sound output. True to the Bassboy family, the Bassboy features a compact enclosure measuring under 50cm³ and weighing only 23.5 kg. The Bassboy allows users to easily configure the subwoofer to their preferred sound systems with both volume and frequency crossover control. A phase switch is also featured when multiple subwoofers are in use to avoid cancellation/phasing. This is a must-have subwoofer for any DJ, Band, or Venue wanting to take their speaker system to the next level!
Quick Start Guide
To set up your Bassboy subwoofer, follow the below steps;
- Connect the IEC AC power cord from a grounded mains 240v power source.
- Connect the XLR line input to the subwoofer’s input.
- Adjust the gain/volume knob to 0 (off), and set the frequency knob to its highest setting
- Switch the power switch to the ‘ON’ position.
- Slowly increase the input’s gain knob to the desired level (ensuring that the speaker is not distorting or clipping).
- Adjust the frequency of the subwoofer until the designed crossover point is reached.
