The Baby Lock Zipper Foot (BLQP-ZF) is a sewing accessory designed for inserting zippers, snap tape, and more. It features a narrow toe for enhanced visibility and precision. With the ability to adjust the needle position to the right or left, this foot allows for easy sewing on both sides of the zipper. Additionally, it can be used to attach piping or decorative cording to fabric.
Product Usage Instructions
- Raise the presser foot and raise the needle to the highest position.
- Using the screwdriver included with your machine, loosen and remove the screw holding the current foot in place.
- Attach the zipper foot to the machine and tighten the screw securely.
- Turn the handwheel toward you to lower the needle. Adjust the position of the foot relative to the needle by sliding it from left to right using the adjustment screw. Once positioned, tighten the zipper foot adjustment screw.
- Fold one side of the seam allowance with the overlap of the zipper position facing down 1/8 inch (0.2 cm) on the outside of the mark.
- Secure the zipper with basting and sew along the marked line.
- Ensure that the needle does not strike the metal part of the zipper while sewing to prevent breakage and injury.
- Line up the folded hem on the opposite side with the stitches.
- If necessary, loosen the zipper foot screw to change its position.
- Turn the handwheel to lower the needle, position the presser foot, and tighten the adjustment screw before sewing.
- With the fabric right side up, baste the zipper onto the fabric and then sew along the edge of the basting.
- If the slider of the zipper is in the way, lift the foot and move the slider out of the way before continuing.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
- When attaching zippers to stretch fabrics, use the pin feed method and adjust foot pressure accordingly.
- The zipper foot can also be used as a guide when attaching piping to fabric.

Raise the presser foot and raise the needle to the highest position.

Loosen and remove screw using the screwdriver included with your machine.

Attach the zipper foot and tighten the screw.

Turn the handwheel toward you to lower the needle.
Adjust the position of the foot relative to the needle using the adjustment screw to slide the foot from left to right. Then tighten the zipper foot adjustment screw. -
Line up the zipper to the section of fabric it will be attached to and mark the base of the opening on the fabric. It should be set approximately ¼ inch (0.5 cm) below zipper stop. Sew from below the base of the opening.

Fold one side of the seam allowance with the overlap of the zipper position facing down 1/8 inch (0.2 cm) on the outside of the mark.

Secure the zipper with basting and sew along the mark.
NOTE: Make sure the needle does not strike the metal part of the zipper when sewing. The needle may break and cause injury. -

- Reinforce base of opening by sewing over it twice.
- If the zipper slide gets in the way, lower the needle all the way through the fabric, lift the foot and move the slider out of the way.
