Product Information
The Kia Optima 2011-2013 is a car model manufactured by Kia Motors. This model offers various features and functionalities for a comfortable driving experience.
Installation Instructions
Before starting the installation process, please ensure that all
accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and airbag indicator lights
are connected. Do not remove the factory radio with the key in the on position
or while the vehicle is running.
Dash Disassembly
- Unsnap and remove trim from around the top center to the passenger side dash.
- Unsnap the panel from the outside edge of the driver’s side dash.
- Remove two screws from the knee panel and pull the top of the panel back so it doesn’t overlap the instrument cluster.
- Remove two screws from the driver’s side vent trim and remove.
- Remove five screws from the instrument cluster and remove.
- Remove four screws from the climate controls and remove.
- Remove six screws securing the radio trim panel and remove.
- Remove four screws securing the factory radio chassis and remove it.

- C) (3) #8 x 3/8” Phillips screws

TOOLS REQUIRED
- Panel removal tool
- Phillips screwdriver
CAUTION! All accessories, switches, climate controls panels, and especially air bag indicator lights must be connected before cycling the ignition. Also, do not remove the factory radio with the key in the on position, or while the vehicle is running.
DASH DISASSEMBLY
- Unsnap and remove trim from around top center to passenger side dash. (Figure A)
- Unsnap panel from outside edge of driver’s side dash. (Figure B)
- Remove (2) screws from knee panel and pull top of panel back so it doesn’t overlap the instrument cluster. (Figure C)
- Remove (2) screws from the driver’s side vent trim and remove. (Figure D)
- Remove (5) screws from instrument cluster and remove. (Figure E)
- Remove (4) screws from the climate controls and remove. (Figure F)
- Remove (6) screws securing the radio trim panel and remove. (Figure G)
- Remove (4) screws securing the factory radio chassis and remove it. (Figure H)
KIT PREPARATION
- Remove (3) screws and remove the vent from the factory radio panel. (Figure A)
- Using the supplied #8 x 3/8” Phillips screws, install the vent to the kits trim panel. (Figure B)
KIT ASSEMBLY
- Secure the radio brackets to the radio using the screws supplied with the radio. (Figure A)
- Locate the factory wiring harness and antenna connector in the dash and complete all necessary connections to the radio. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter from Metra and/or Axxess. Test the radio for proper operation.
- Secure the radio assembly to the dash using the factory screws. (Figure B)
- Snap the radio trim panel over the radio assembly, then reassemble the dash in reverse order of disassembly. (Figure C)
