Instructions
ESG-FF Felling Foot
The Baby Lock Felling Foot has a 4mm underfoot groove which is perfect for
making flat felled seams and for turning narrow edges and hems on lightweight
fabrics.
A flat felled seam is the preferred seam for men’s and women’s shirts and
children’s casual garments. In a felled seam, the fabric seam allowances are
both encased and stitched with a double row of topstitching.

Here’s how to make a perfect felled seam with your Baby Lock Felling Foot:
- Place wrong sides of your fabric together and stitch a 5/8” seam, using a stitch length of 2-2.5mm. Press the seam to one side. Trim the lower seam allowance to 3/8.”
- Turn the top seam allowance under 1/4” and press.
- Place the fold in the groove of the foot. Edge stitch, guiding the fold to the inside edge of the curl in the felling foot.
