SENA SRL-MESH Motorcycle Mesh and Bluetooth Communication System for

Product Information
The product is a motorcycle communication device manufactured by SENA Technologies, Inc. It features a pinhole fault reset button, charging LED, DC power charging & firmware upgrade port, Bluetooth module, antenna speaker, antenna, (+) button status LED, (-) button center button module (L), speaker microphone connector, and mesh intercom button module (R).
Product Usage Instructions:
Download and Update Software:
- Download the SENA MOTORCYCLES App from the Google Play Store or App Store.
- Visit sena.com to download the firmware and other necessary items.
Installation:
Flip Up Helmet Installation:
- Follow the numbered steps 1 to 17 for flip-up helmet installation.
Full Face Helmet Installation:
- Follow the numbered steps 1 to 15 for full face helmet installation.
Basic Operations:
Powering On/Off:
- To power on the device, press and hold the power button for 1 second (HOLD 1s).
- To power off the device, tap the power button once (TAP 1x).
Volume Control:
- To increase the volume, tap the volume up button once (TAP 1x).
- To decrease the volume, tap the volume down button once (TAP 1x).
Checking Battery Level:
To check the battery level, power on the device. The number of LEDs lit up on the device indicates the battery level.
Phone Pairing:
- Hold the phone pairing button for 10 seconds (HOLD 10s).
- Select “SRL-Mesh” from the list of Bluetooth devices detected on your phone.
Using the Phone:
- To answer a call, tap the button once (TAP 1x).
- To reject a call, hold the button for 2 seconds (HOLD 2s).
- To end a call, hold the button for 2 seconds (HOLD 2s).
- To activate Siri or Google Assistant installed on your phone, say “Hey Google” or “Hey Siri” and hold the button for 3 seconds (HOLD 3s).
Music Control:
- To play/pause music, hold the button for 1 second (HOLD 1s).
- To skip to the next track, hold the button for 1 second (HOLD 1s).
- To go back to the previous track, hold the button for 1 second (HOLD 1s).
Mesh Intercom:
- To turn on mesh intercom, tap the button once (TAP 1x).
- To turn off mesh intercom, tap the button once (TAP 1x).
- To enter the channel setting in Open Mesh, tap the button twice (TAP 2x).
- To save the channel in Open Mesh, tap the button once (TAP 1x) or use the SENA MOTORCYCLES App.
- To create a Group Mesh, hold the button for 5 seconds (HOLD 5s) while in Open Mesh with two or more users.
- To join an existing Group Mesh, hold the button for 5 seconds (HOLD 5s) while in Open Mesh and one of the current users allows new users to join.
Note:
When Mesh Intercom is on, the SRL-Mesh will automatically connect to nearby SRL-Mesh users and the headset will be in Open Mesh initially (default: channel 1).

Installation
The following SHOEI helmets are compatible with the SRL-Mesh.
- GT-Air II, J-Cruise II, Neotec II*
- Neotec II’s manufactured on and after March 8, 2019.
- For more information about installation, refer to the User’s Guide.

Music Control
Mesh Intercom™
- Open Mesh™: communication within the same channel.
- Group Mesh™: communication within the same private group.
- For more information on Mesh Intercom, refer to the User’s Guide.
Note: When Mesh Intercom is on, the SRL-Mesh will automatically connect to nearby SRL-Mesh users and the headset will be in Open Mesh (default: channel 1) initially.
Open Mesh
Channel Setting (Default: channel 1) in Open Mesh
- Enter into the Channel Setting.
- Navigate between channels.
- Save the channel. Note: You can use the SENA MOTORCYCLES App to change the channel.
Group Mesh
Group Mesh is a closed group intercom function that allows users to join,
leave, or rejoin a group intercom conversation without pairing each headset.
Creating a Group Mesh
Creating a Group Mesh requires two or more Open Mesh users.
- Users (You, B, and C) enter into Mesh Grouping to create a Group Mesh.
- When Mesh Grouping is completed, the users (You, B and C) will hear a voice prompt on their headsets as Open Mesh switches to Group Mesh.
Joining an Existing Group Mesh
One of the current users in an Existing Group Mesh can allow new users (one or
more) in Open Mesh to join the Existing Group Mesh.
- One (You) of the current users in the Existing Group Mesh and new users (D and F) in Open Mesh enter into Mesh Grouping to join the Existing Group Mesh.
- When Mesh Grouping is completed, the new users (D and F) will hear a voice prompt on their headsets as Open Mesh switches to Group Mesh.
Enable/Disable Mic (Default: Enable)
Users can enable/disable the microphone when communicating in a Mesh Intercom
.
Reset Mesh
If the headset in an Open Mesh or Group Mesh resets the Mesh, it will
automatically return to Open Mesh (default: channel 1).
Bluetooth Intercom
Up to three other people can be paired with the headset for Bluetooth intercom
conversations.
Intercom Pairing
There are two ways to pair the headset.
Using the Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP)
SIP allows you to quickly pair with your friends for intercom communication by
scanning the QR code on the SENA MOTORCYCLES App without remembering the
button operation.

Pair the mobile phone with the headset.

Open the SENA MOTORCYCLES App and tap (Smart Intercom Pairing Menu).

Scan the QR code displayed on your friend (B)’s mobile phone.

Your friend (B) can display the QR code on the mobile phone by tapping > QR code ( ) on the SENA MOTORCYCLES App.

Tap Save and check that your friend (B) is paired with you (A) correctly.

Tap Scan ( ) and repeat steps 3-4 to pair with Intercom Friends (C) and (D).
Note: The Smart Intercom Pairing (SIP) is not compatible with Sena products that use Bluetooth 3.0 or below.
Using the Button

Users (You, B) enter into Intercom Pairing.

The two headsets (A and B) will be automatically paired.

Repeat the steps above to pair with other headsets (C and D).
Last-Come, First-Served
If the headset has multiple paired headsets for intercom conversations, the
last paired headset is set as the First Intercom Friend.

Fault Reset
Note:
- Fault Reset will not restore the headset to factory default settings.
The charging LED is not the Pinhole Fault Reset Button. Do not press it.
