Product Usage Instructions

  1. Before first use, read and follow all instructions in the user manual for proper use and maintenance.
  2. Keep the user manual handy for future reference.
  3. Pay special attention to the important safety instructions for your safety and service.
  4. Record the complete model number (found on the appliance’s nameplate) and the date of receipt. Attach this information along with your purchase receipt for warranty and service purposes.
  5. Note that the device classification (as indicated on the appliance’s nameplate) is based on specific load tests. Normal use or use of other recommended accessories may significantly reduce power consumption.
  6. Important Safety Instructions:
    • Read all instructions carefully before using the appliance.
    • To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury to persons or property, do the following:
    1. Always use the appliance with a power source that has the same voltage, frequency, and rating as indicated on the appliance’s nameplate.
    2. Supervise closely when children or disabled persons are using or near the appliance. Do not allow children to use the appliance as a toy.

BEFORE FIRST USE
Read and follow all the instructions in this “Use and Care” manual, even if you feel you are familiar with the product, and find a place to keep it handy for future reference. Your attention is drawn particularly to the sections concerning “IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS”, “FOR YOUR SAFETY” and “SERVICE”. For your convenience, record the complete model number (located on the product identification plate) and the date you received the product, together with your purchase receipt, and attach these to the warranty and service information. Retain in the event that warranty service is required.
NOTE: The rating of this product (as marked on the product identification plate) is based on specific loading tests. Normal use or the use of other recommended attachments may draw significantly less power.

IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using any electrically powered product, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Switch off and unplug it from outlet when not in use, before assembling or disassembling parts, and before cleaning. Remove it by grasping the plug; do not pull on the cord.
  • Avoid coming in contact with the hot surfaces.
  • Do not use the appliance for other than its intended use.
  • Do not leave the appliance unattended when switched on.
  • The use of attachments or accessories that are not recommended or sold by the product distributor may cause personal or property hazards or injuries.
  • This product is intended for normal domestic /household use only.

HOW TO USE YOUR HOT PLATE
Before using your Hot Plate for the first time, turn the Hot Plate on the highest setting for 3 to 5 minutes to condition the protective coating. This should be the only time the Hot Plate is turned on without a cooking utensil on it. For the most efficient operation of your Hot Plate, the cooking utensils used should have a solid base and be as even as possible, and with a diameter of approx. 15 to 17 cm and a maximum capacity of 1L (800W hot plate). The cooking utensils with base diameter smaller than the diameter of the Hot Plate should not be used. Cooking utensils, regardless of their size, should not project beyond the Hot Plate or intrude into the area within the close proximity of the controls. Utensils with convex, concave or uneven bottoms should not be used.

Operation of controls

Turn the controls to the marked, recommended position to attain the desired temperature. Use this guide as a reference.
Important: when not in use, always turn the controls to the “OFF” position and disconnect from the power outlet.

  1. For simmering of delicate foods, and to thicken the sauces, etc.
  2. For simmering large quantities
  3.  Shallow frying of meat and pan dishes
  4. To bring all dishes to rapid heat
  5.  To bring all dishes to a boil.

Note: the lamp will go off when the hot plate reaches the selected temperature, and will cycle on and off to maintain the temperature.

For your safety

When using your hot plate, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

  • Never immerse the hot plate in water or any other liquid.
  • Oil and fat being heated are not to be left unattended without adult supervision.
  • Do not touch the surfaces or the hot plate when in operation, as they get hot.
  • The hot plate is designed only for the heating and cooking of food, and must only be used with cooking utensils placed on it.
  • The hot plate must be turn to “OFF” setting and be disconnected from the power outlet when not in use.
  • Cooking utensils, regardless of their size, should not project beyond the hot plate or intrude into the area within the close proximity of the controls.
  • It is dangerous to operate any electrical product with a damaged cord or plug, or after the product malfunctions or is dropped or damaged in any manner. Return the complete product to the place of purchase for inspection and repair.

How to take care of your hot plate

  • Disconnect the hot plate from the power outlet.
  • Do not immerse the hot plate in any liquid.
  • Do not allow the cord to touch any hot surfaces of the hot plate.
  • Clean the painted surface with a damp soft cloth and mild household cleaning powder.
  • Baked on marks on the circular hot plate can be removed with a household cleaning powder. Turn the unit on for a moment to dry after cleaning.
  • Commercially available hot plate cleaners are recommended to preserve the natural finish of the hot plate.
