The values vary depending on the size of the paper being fed. Leave a margin of 1600 mm in front of and behind the printer, with enough additional space for working.
Installation location

Leave adequate room as shown in the table for setting up the printer.

Choose a flat and stable location that can support the weight of the printer. See the U “User’s Guide” (online manual) for details on the weight of the printer.

Use only an outlet that meets the power requirements of this printer.

Operate the printer under the following conditions:
Temperature: 10 to 35°C
Humidity : 20 to 80%
Even the conditions above are met, you may not print properly if the environmental conditions are not proper for the paper. See the instructions of the paper for more detailed information. Keep the printer away from drying, direct sunlight, or heat sources to maintain the appropriate humidity. -
Unless otherwise noted, the illustrations in this manual show the SC-T7700D Series.

Double roll function (except for SC-P6500E/SC-T3700E Series)
You can load roll paper in Roll 1 and Roll 2 and the roll being used can be switched automatically for printing, thereby reducing the time and effort required to change rolls.

Equipped with an automatic black ink switching function and spot color inks
The appropriate black ink (PK or MK) is automatically selected according to the type of paper being used.
By adding spot color inks to the four basic colors, the SC-P Series can produce high-quality photo printing, and the SC-T Series can produce eye- catching POP printing.

Job priority function and storage printing
When the optional * SSD Unit is installed, the printer can prioritize jobs that are suitable for the roll paper that is being fed, or to perform storage printing. Data is automatically encrypted.

You can easily print photos and documents from smart devices such as
smartphones and tablets.
Switch between the PostScript and standard driver for printing (except for SC-P6500DE/SC-P6500E/ SC-T3700DE/SC-T3700E Series)
The Adobe PostScript 3 Expansion Unit is included as standard. For this reason, two software CDs are provided with
the printer, one containing the PostScript driver and the other containing the standard driver. If you install both, you can switch between using the PostScript driver and the standard driver to suit your needs.

High scan speed; features an easy-to-use large-format scanner (SC-P8500DM

The scan results can be saved in the supplied high-capacity SSD unit, sent by e-mail, or saved to an FTP server or
shared folder. It also supports Epson’s versatile Epson Scan 2 software, which can be used to digitize documents efficiently and can beautifully scan photos and graphics and reproduce them in exquisite detail.

Warning
The shape of the plug varies with the region or country of sale. Use the
supplied power cable only.
- Turn on the printer and make initial settings such as the language and date.
- Next, follow the instructions on the control panel’s screen to perform initial ink charging.

After opening the ink cartridge, be sure to shake it as shown in the figure.

Do not touch the IC chip on the cartridge. Doing so may cause incorrect operation or printing.

The operation is complete when the message “Load paper.” appears in the display.
Observe the following precautions when charging the ink. If these precautions are not observed, the work may be interrupted and require redoing, resulting in more ink being consumed than normal.
- Do not disconnect the power cable from the outlet or turn off the power.
- Do not perform operations other than those specified on the screen.
The included ink cartridges and installed Maintenance Box are just for initial ink charging. You may need to replace the ink cartridge or Maintenance Box soon.
Installing the Software
Installing Basic Software
- The basic software will not be installed if the devices are not connected according to the on-screen instructions. You can install both the PostScript and standard drivers, or just one of them, according to your needs.

- Enter “epson.sn” and the printer model name into a web browser and click SEARCH .

Run the downloaded installer.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Securing the Printe
- Store the USB cable/LAN cable before securing the printer.
Caution:
- Except when moving the printer, make sure the two casters (wheels) at the front and the two stoppers at the rear are secured.
WARNING
- Turn the stoppers by hand until they touch the floor.
- Stop turning when they touch the floor. If you turn them 180° or more after they touch the floor, print quality may decline.
Viewing the Online Guides
Next, see the “User’s Guide” (online manual) to load the paper and start using the printer. After loading the paper, we recommend that you press Menu – Maintenance – Print Head Nozzle Check on the control panel to check for clogged nozzles.
If you notice any problems in the print results, see the following sections of the “User’s Guide” and make appropriate adjustments.
- If ruled lines are misaligned or there is noticeable graininess: U “Ruled Line Alignment”.
- If you are not satisfied with the print quality: U “Optimizing Media Settings (Automatic Adjustment)”.
You can open the online manuals by clicking the Epson Manuals icon created on
your computer’s desktop.
The Epson Manuals icon is created when manuals are installed using “Installing
the Software” in the previous section.

Visit the Epson website at epson.sn, and then follow the procedure below to
see the online manuals.
