Product Information

The INTELLIDASH PRO S (DU2000) is a car dashboard display device that allows you to access various apps and features while driving. It comes with a 7-inch IPS touchscreen display and offers compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The device features an AV IN port for optional backup camera integration, a built-in AC power jack, and various connectivity options including USB, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi.

Product Usage Instructions

Set-Up: Mount & Power On

  1. Insert the adhesive suction cup mount into the bracket on the back of the INTELLIDASH PRO S and slide it up to lock it in place.
  2. Remove the protective film from the adhesive suction cup on the bottom of the mount. Press the suction cup onto your dashboard and push the lock down to secure it in place. Adjust the INTELLIDASH PRO S’s angle and height to avoid blocking your view of the road, and tighten the knob to secure it further.
  3. If the device rattles or comes into contact with the dashboard, use the Shock Absorbing Gel Strip provided. Remove the plastic film from both sides of the strip and place it on the bottom of the INTELLIDASH PRO S or on the dashboard directly below it.
  4. Connect one end of the supplied power cable to the DC 12V power port of the device. Secure the cable between the edge of the windshield and the dashboard to prevent tangling.
  5. Plug the adapter end of the power cable into your car’s DC 12V power outlet. The INTELLIDASH PRO S will automatically power on when your car is powered on and will power off when your car is powered off.

The home screen of the INTELLIDASH PRO S allows you to access various apps and settings. Here are some key features:

Apple CarPlay Setup
When connecting your phone to the INTELLIDASH PRO S for the first time, follow these steps:

  1. A Bluetooth Pairing Request dialog box will appear on your phone screen. Tap “Pair” to establish the Bluetooth connection.
  2. You will be asked to allow contacts and favorites sync. Tap “Allow” for both options to enable incoming and outgoing calls, messages, and more in CarPlay.
  3. After Bluetooth pairing, your phone’s Wi-Fi will automatically join the INTELLIDASH PRO S’s Wi-Fi network named “CAR-WiFi-XXXXX”. If the connection is successful, CarPlay will launch automatically.

Set-Up Mount & Power On

Step One

Step Two

Step Three
If you find your INTELLIDASH PRO S is rattling and/or coming into contact with your dashboard, use the Shock Absorbing Gel Strip to protect your INTELLIDASH PRO S and dashboard. Just remove the plastic film from both sides, and place it on the bottom of your INTELLIDASH PRO S, or on the dashboard directly below it .CAR-AND-DRIVER-DU2000-Wireless-Charging-fig-6

Step Four
Connect one end of the supplied power cable to the DC 12V power port of the device. You can secure your cable between the edge of the windshield and the dashboard to ensure that it does not become tangled.

Step Five
Plug the adapter end of the power cable into your car’s DC 12V power outlet. INTELLIDASH PRO S will automatically power on when your car is powered on, and will power off when your car is powered off.

IMPORTANT NOTES

  • Ensure that the INTELLIDASH PRO S is mounted in a place that does not block your view of the road.
  • The INTELLIDASH PRO S has built-in speakers. However, to play music over your car radio please ensure that the FM Transmitter function has been set up and is connected properly with your car radio. (See Page 22)
  • Some Android operating versions may not be compatible with the Android Auto app. As such, we strongly recommend updating your phone’s operating system to the latest version.
  • Ensure that you are using the power cable provided with the purchase of your phone (or compatible cable) to connect the INTELLIDASH PRO S and your phone.
  • Apps displayed on the INTELLIDASH PRO S (when pairing with either the CarPlay or Android Auto app) will vary depending on the apps available on the connected phone.
  • The INTELLIDASH PRO S does not support it’s own GPS. All Navigation app’s are functionally dependent on the connected phone.

Apple CarPlay

You can connect your INTELLIDASH PRO S to your iPhone with either of these methods:
Method 1: Wirelessly connect the INTELLIDASH PRO S to your iPhone With Bluetooth, you can use Carplay or listen to music without any cable connection. Supported iPhones: Apple iPhone 6S or above

  1. When your INTELLIDASH PRO S is powered on, the INTEL-LIDASH PRO S’s Bluetooth will be turned on automatically. In your phones’ settings, turn on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  2. In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, search for “DU2000”, and tap “DU2000” to connect.

When connecting for the first time, a Bluetooth Pairing Request dialog box will pop up on your phone screen, tap Pair. Then you will be asked “Allow contacts and Favorites Sync?”, tap Allow for both to enable incoming and outgoing calls, messages and more in CarPlay.
After bluetooth pairing, the phone’s Wi-Fi will automatically join your INTELLIDASH PRO S’s WiFi network ”CAR-WiFi-XXXXX”. If connected successfully, CarPlay will launch automatically.
If it did not connect automatically, go to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and try to join the network “CAR-WiFi-XXXXX”. If this did not work, Tap the next to the DU2000 in Bluetooth settings, and make sure you’ve enabled CarPlay.

Method 2: Cable connect your INTELLIDASH PRO S to your iPhone
Plug the Type C end of your Lightning -Type C cable into your INTELLIDASH PRO S, plug the Lightning end into your iPhone. Note: You must use an Apple original or Apple authorized made for iPhone Type C to Lightning cable (not included) with your INTELLIDASH PRO S.CAR-AND-DRIVER-DU2000-Wireless-

The CarPlay main menu will launch, allowing your phone to access the following features and more.

  • Siri
  • SMS Messages
  • Apple Music,
  • Spotify, etc.
  • Hands-free calls
  • Apple Maps

In the CarPlay main menu, you’ll see all CarPlay compatible apps. Apps displayed on the INTELLIDASH PRO S will vary depending on the apps of the connected phone.

Android Auto

You can connect your INTELLIDASH PRO S to your smartphone with either of these methods:

Method 1: Wirelessly connect the INTELLIDASH PRO S to your Android Smartphone With Bluetooth, you can use Android Auto or listen to music without any cable connection. Supported Smartphones: Android 11 or above.

  1. When your INTELLIDASH PRO S is powered on, the INTEL-LIDASH PRO S’s Bluetooth will be turned on automatically. In your phones’ settings, turn on both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  2. In your phone’s Bluetooth settings, search for “DU2000”, and tap “DU2000” to connect.

When connecting for the first time, a Bluetooth Pairing Request dialog box will pop up on your phone screen, tap Pair. Then you will be asked “Allow contacts and Favorites Sync?”, tap Allow for both to enable incoming and outgoing calls, messages and more in Android Auto.
After bluetooth pairing, the phone’s Wi-Fi will automatically join your INTELLIDASH PRO S’s WiFi network ”CAR-WiFi-XXXXX”. If connected successfully, Android Auto will launch automatically.
If it did not connect automatically, go to your phone’s Wi-Fi settings and try to join the network “CAR-WiFi-XXXXX”.
To disconnect from Android Auto, turn off the Wi-Fi in your phone’s settings.

Method 2: Cable connect your INTELLIDASH PRO S to your Android Smartphone
If your phone has a Type C port, plug one end of the supplied Type C – Type C cable into your INTELLIDASH PRO S, and plug the other end into your Android phone.
If your phone has a Micro USB port, plug the Micro USB end of the Micro USB – Type C cable (not supplied) into your Android phone, and plug the Type C end of the cable into your INTELLIDASH PRO S.

Tip: If you do not have the Type C cables listed above, and only have USB charging cable with your phone, you can also use an USB-Type C adapter (not supplied).

Note: You must use an Apple original or Apple authorized made for iPhone USB-C to Lighting Cable with your INTELLIDASH PRO S.
The Android Auto app will launch, allowing your phone to ac-cess the following features and more.

  • Google Assistant
  • SMS Messages
  • Google Maps
  • Music,News
  • SMS Messages
  • Hands-free calls

By default, after launch, the IINTELLIDASH PRO S will enter the Google Maps screen.

Tap at the bottom of the screen to return to Android Auto main menu.
In the Android Auto main menu, you’ll see all compatible apps. Apps displayed on the INTELLIDASH PRO S will vary depending on the apps of the connected phone.
NOTE: Audio and music apps can be used simultaneously with Waze or Maps.

Important: Ensure that your phone’s operating system has been updated to the latest version. This is necessary as some older Android versions may not be fully compatible with the Android Auto.

iOS Mirror

iOS Mirror is supported on most iPhones. iOS Mirror can mirror your iPhone screen to the INTELLIDASH PRO S display.
Before using iOS Mirror, configure settings in the INTELLIDASH PRO S. On the home screen, tap Settings and , and tap the < / > icon next to iOS to change from CarPlay to iOS Mirror.
A dialogue box will pop up telling you to unplug your phone and plug it in again before changing to iOS Mirror. Tap to select iOS Mirror, and then disconnect your phone and reconnect it using the Type C – Lightning cable. This should launch iOS Mirror automatically.

Android Link is supported on most Android phones. Android
Link can mirror your screen to the INTELLIDASH PRO S display.
Before using Android Mirror, configure settings in the INTELLIDASH PRO S. On the home screen, tap Settings and , and tap the < / > icon next to Android to change from Android Auto to Android Link.
A dialogue box will pop up telling you to unplug your phone and plug it in again before changing to Android Link. Tap to select Android Link, and then disconnect your phone an reconnect it using the Type C-Type C or Micro USB cable. This should launch Android Link automatically.

Note: For iOS Mirror and Android Link, when connecting for the first time, you have to enable the ‘USB debugging mode’ (It may be called a similar name on certain devices) in your smart phone.

Bluetooth Phone

The Bluetooth Phone allows you to pair your phone to your INTELLIDASH PRO S, so you can make and receive calls, send messages and more, all without using CarPlay/Android Auto.CAR-AND-DRIVER-DU2000-Wireless-Charging-

Before using this feature, make sure you have synced your contact list with the INTELLIDASH PRO S: Tap near the DU2000 in your phone’s Bluetooth settings, and turn Sync Contacts on.
Dial Pad: The Dial Pad can be used to make calls from your paired phone using the INTELLIDASH PRO S.
Contact List: The Contact List can be used to search through your paired phone’s available contacts to call them using the INTELLIDASH PRO S.
Call History: The Call History can be used to search through and call back your recent incoming and outgoing calls.
Bluetooth Connection Settings: View the current connection status and turn on/off Auto Answer and Auto Connect mode for your phone.

Bluetooth Music

The Bluetooth Phone allows you to pair your phone to your IN-TELLIDASH PRO S, so you can play your phone’s music on the INTELLIDASH PRO S without using CarPlay/Android Auto.

USB Media

You can play audio/video files or view images from a compati-ble USB drive by inserting the USB drive into the INTELLIDASH PRO S’s USB Port. Then tap the USB icon on the home screen to start the audio/video playback.
Supported audio formats: MP3/WMA/AAC/AC3/OGG/Real Audio/FLAG/APE.
Supported video formats: AVI/RMVB/MPEG/RM/MKV/MOV/MP4/WMV/FLV.
Supported image formats: JPEG/JPG/PNG
Note: Featured information, including album cover and song name, may vary depending on the files hosted on the USB drive.

FM Transmitter

The FM transmitter allows you to broadcast music from your phone to your car speakers via the radio. To do this, turn the transmitter on, then tune both your car radio and the INTELLIDASH PRO S to the unused blank frequency.
Notes:

  1. If sound does not immediately stream from your phone to the cars speaker press to navigate back to the home screen, and press Play on the home screen.
    You can save up to six preset radio frequencies by adjusting the “Current Frequency” to the channel you want to save and pressing and holding any of the “Frequency Presets.”

  2. The Zones for the U.S. broadcast station classes include USA1 and USA2.

USA1: Zone I (roughly the northeastern quarter of the U.S. mainland, excluding the far northern areas) and Zone I-A(California south of 40 degrees latitude, U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico).
USA 2: All other locations of the U.S mainland. Thus, you may need to switch between USA1 and USA2 in the Set-tings to find a clear frequency.

Built-In Speaker

TO USE THE BUILT-IN SPEAKER ON YOUR INTELLIDASH PRO S, YOU MUST TURN OFF THE FM TRANSMITTER.
Connect to your car’s speaker There are three ways to connect the INTELLIDASH PRO S to your car’s speaker.

AUX cable
Connect the supplied AUX cable to the Audio Out port of the INTELLIDASH PRO S and your car’s Aux In port.

FM Transmitter

  1. Turn on the FM Transmitter in the INTELLIDASH PRO S.

  2. Tune both your car radio and the INTELLIDASH PRO S to the same FM frequency (that is not currently being used by a broadcast).
    Note: FM reception may change as your location changes.

  3. Bluetooth
    If your car has a built-in Bluetooth speaker, make sure both your car’s and your phone’s Bluetooth are turned on, and select your car’s Bluetooth name in your phone’s settings to connect.
    Note: You should select Audio outputs from Bluetooth in your iPhone App’s ( such as in iPhone AirPlay) settings.

Settings

You can adjust a wide variety of the INTELLIDASH PRO S’s settings including brightness, language, date/time and more.

  1. Basic settings
    On the home screen, tap to enter basic settings, and tap the icons on the left to set system language, date and time, FM transmitter region and Link type. CAR-AND-DRIVER-DU2000-Wireless-Charging-fig-47

Display settings
On the home screen, tap to enter display settings, and tap the icons on the left to set brightness, saturation, chromaticity, contrast, dimmer level, day and night mode.

Version Information

On the home screen, tap to view the firmware version information.

Troubleshoot Firmware

In the event software glitches or bugs occur on your INTELLIDASH PRO S, you may need to reinstall the firmware. To update the firm- ware, please contact Car and Driver’s Customer Service.

Subject to the terms and conditions herein, SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC warrants to the original purchaser of the Product (“Customer”) that for the applicable Warranty Period listed below, the Product will be free from defects in material or workmanship under normal, non-commercial use (“Defects”). Warranty Period encompasses, as listed below, separate “Coverage Periods” for Parts and Labor, each Coverage Period for one year, to begin from the original date of Customer purchase. If Customer returns a defective Product (or any component thereof) during the applicable Warranty Period, SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC will, as its option, during the specified Coverage Periods for Parts and Labor (as applicable) either: (i) repair the Product (or, as applicable, any component thereof) or (ii) replace the Product (or, as applicable, any component thereof) with a new or refurbished Product (or, as applicable, any component thereof), in either case free of charge to Customer for Parts and/or Labor (as applicable) during the specified Coverage Period only, and excluding applicable shipping charges (noted below), for which the Customer is responsible. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICA BLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC BE LIABLE TO CUSTOMER OR ANY THIRD PARTY FOR ANY INDIRECT, SPECIAL, INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY LOST PROFITS OR REVENUES, LOSS OR INACCURACY OF ANY DATA OR COST
OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS, REGARDLESS OF THE THEORY OF LIABILITY (IN-CLUDING NEGLIGENCE) AND EVEN IF SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES, SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC’S AGGREGATE LIABILITY TO CUSTOMER FOR ACTUAL DIRECT DAMAGES FOR ANY CAUSE WHATSOEVER SHALL BE LIMITED TO THE CUMULATIVE PRODUCT FEES PAID BY THAT CUSTOMER FOR THE PRODUCT CAUSING THE DAMAGES, IF ANY.

This Warranty gives Customer specific rights, and Customer may also have other rights that vary from jurisdiction to jurisdiction. To obtain Warranty service, Customer must email SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC Technical Support prior to making a Product return. Customer must include with Product return the following items (failure to enclose any of these items may result in a delay in the processing of your Warranty claim): (i) a dated sales receipt that indicates the place of purchase, model number of Product, and amount paid; (ii) a detailed description of Customer’s problem with Product; (iii) Customer’s full name, phone number, and return address, and; (iv) a money order made out to SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC Electronics Corporation to cover return shipping charges to US destinations only, for the applicable dollar amount shown for the Product in the table above. SUMMIT ELECTRONICS LLC will not make return shipments to a P.O. Box. For shipping to international addresses, actual freight will be charged to Customer. Return your Product freight-prepaid in its original packaging, or packaging that affords an equal measure of protection. Please allow 4 to 6 weeks for the processing of your claim (6 to 8 weeks from November to February).
