Coyote 325 Reclining Wheelchair - Construction

Usage

Unfolding

  1. Open wheelchair by tilting it to one side and pushing down on the seat rails until fully open.
  2. Install the rear stability bar and secure with both knobs to prevent accidental partial folding.
  3. Attach the leg rests

Folding

  1. Remove leg rests
  2. Unscrew knob on slotted end of stability bar and swing down (or remove entirely).
  3. Pull up on front and back of seat sling with both hands until completely folded

Reclining

To change the angle of the backrest in either direction, squeeze handgrip levers, adjust the angle, then release the handgrip levers to lock in place.

Removing the Armrests

Remove arms by depressing spring button and lifting arms out of front and rear sockets.

Attaching the Leg Rests

  1. Position footrest so it is pointing 90 degrees away from the reclining chair (footrest platform should be pointing forward when folded down at this point).
  2. Align the holes with the footrest pegs on the frame and gently press down until the footrest can swing freely.
  3. Swing the footrest until the footrest platform is pointing inward. Continue with this rotation until the footrest locks in place. An audible click will be heard.
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 with the other footrest.

Removing Leg Rests

  1. Release lock by pushing on the front rigging lever.
  2. Swing-away footrest/leg rest out and sideways, then lift to remove.

Adjusting the Length of Leg Rests

NOTE : When adjusting length of footrests, user should be sitting in wheelchair with feet on the foot plates.

  1. Depress spring button on leg rest
  2. Raise or lower footplate to desired position that will provide maximum support of thighs.
  3. Confirm spring button locks into position.

NOTE : Foot plate should not be so low that it causes uncomfortable pressure to thighs at front of seat upholstery.

Elevating the Leg Rests

  1. Lift footplate on leg rest assembly to desired position.
  2. Release leg rest assembly and it will automatically lock into place.
  3. To lower, push out on Ieg rest lever and lower footplate to desired position.

Locking the Wheels

Engage both wheel locks before getting in or out of chair, leaning forward in chair, or while in an elevator or wheelchair lift. Locks are engaged by pushing the handles completely forward.

Installing Anti-tips

  1. Insert the anti-tips with the wheels curved down towards the ground/floor until they lock into place.
  2. Press the release buttons on the lower portion of the anti-tip and slide it up or down to achieve proper ground clearance.
  3. Make sure both anti-tips are adjusted to the same setting and release buttons are fully engaged before use.

DO NOT ATTEMPT! Any adjustment to your product seat can affect the stability of your product. We highly recommend that you have a dealer or licensed technician adjust your seat height to ensure adjustments are safe.

Safety

Stability
This wheelchair is designed to be safe and stable as long as center of gravity is maintained while going about normal activities. Care must be taken while performing activities that shift your center of gravity in the chair. Never reach so far that you need to shift in the seat or bend over out of the chair. When you reaching for objects that require you to lean, be certain front casters are pointed in a forward position that extends the wheel base and stabilizes the chair.

Ramps
Be sure of your own capabilities, limitations and strength before attempting to go up a ramp. Correct techniques on ramp navigation should be shown to you by a qualified professional. If you must stop on an incline, avoid sudden, abrupt movement when you resume movement. Backward angling of the chair or sudden abrupt movement could cause instability. Attempting to use the wheel lock brakes could result in accidental locking, tipping to one side, sudden stopping. Avoid changing direction when going down an incline, as this could result in instability or tipping over. Never use your wheelchair on an incline steeper than 4.8°.

Care of the Wheelchair
Always ensure that your wheelchair is dry after use to prevent corrosion. It should be regularly washed using warm water and a mild detergent. Dry after washing. Between uses the wheelcahir can be folded for storage.

Warranty

Loh Medical offers a 12 month warranty on the frame of this wheelchair. Any defective frame components will be replaced at no cost.
