Product Usage Instructions
- Remove all packing materials such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords, and packaging screws for the child’s safety.
- Keep the soft toy out of the sleeping environment for babies under twelve months to avoid suffocation risk.
Battery Removal and Installation:
- Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
- Locate the battery cover on the electronic module inside the elephant. Use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
- If used batteries are present, remove these batteries from the unit by pulling up on one end of each battery.
- Install 2 new AAA (AM-4/LR03) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (For best performance, alkaline batteries or fully charged Ni-MH rechargeable batteries are recommended).
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screw to secure.
WARNING:
Adult assembly required for battery installation. Keep batteries out of reach
of children.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:
- Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from toy before charging.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Disposal of batteries and product:
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their
respective packaging, indicate they must not be disposed of in domestic waste
as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human
health.
The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery
contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead
(Pb) set out in the Batteries and Accumulators Regulation.
The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th
August, 2005.
Please dispose of your product and batteries responsibly.

- Product Usage:
- To turn the elephant ON, slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. To turn it OFF, slide the switch to the OFF ( ) position.
- The elephant will produce sounds, light patterns, and music when turned on. Press the LIGHT UP BUTTON to hear soothing phrases, lullaby songs, nature sounds, and soft melodies. Approximately 15 minutes of music will play after each press of the button. The light pattern will fade in and out slowly with the sounds.
- To stop the current response, hold down the LIGHT UP BUTTON for around 3 seconds.

INTRODUCTION
Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Snooze & Soothe Elephant. This soft and cuddly elephant will soothe your little one with its soft glowing light, melodies, songs, nature sounds and loving phrases. Holding down the elephant’s button will stop the current response. The electronic module can be easily removed, so the elephant can be hand washed.

should be discarded for your child’s safety.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
To ensure your child’s safety, this product should only be assembled by an adult.
REMOVABLE ELECTRONIC MODULE
- To remove the electronic module, open the Velcro-like attachment on the back of the elephant. There is a button on the left side of the module, press the button to detach and remove it.
- To reinsert the electronic module, press the same button you used to remove the module and click it onto the tab inside the back of the elephant. When the electronic module is inserted correctly, you will hear a click sound. Push the electronic module into the back of the elephant and seal the Velcro-like attachment.

ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH
To turn the elephant ON, slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or HIGH VOLUME ( ) position. To turn the elephant OFF, slide the ON/ OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to the OFF ( ) position. -
AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech®
Snooze & Soothe Elephant will automatically shut off shortly after the responses have finished. The elephant can be turned on again by pressing the light up button.
Note: If the unit repeatedly shuts down, or the light flickers then fades out, we recommend changing the batteries.
ACTIVITIES
- Slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME CONTROL SWITCH to turn the elephant on. You will hear a kiss sound, a phrase, a giggle sound and a lullaby song. The light pattern will fade in and fade out slowly with the sounds.
- Press the LIGHT UP BUTTON to hear soothing phrases, lullaby songs, nature sounds and soft melodies. You will hear approximately 15 minutes of music play after each press of the button. The light pattern will fade in and fade out slowly with the sounds.
- Holding down the LIGHT UP BUTTON for around 3 seconds will stop the current response.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries when the unit will not be in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
- Please turn the unit OFF.
- Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
- Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
- Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play with again.
- If the unit still does not work, install a brand new set of batteries. If the problem persists, please contact our Consumer Services Department and a service representative will be happy to help you.
