The Little Friendlies Happy Hippo Teether is a baby toy designed to provide sensory stimulation and relief during teething. It features a soft textured teether, a light-up heart button, and a removable electronic module that plays songs, phrases, and fun sounds. The teether is powered by 3-button cell batteries (LR44) and has an ON/OFF switch for easy operation. The product is designed for children above the age of 3 months.
Product Features
- ON/OFF SWITCH: Slide the switch to turn the unit ON or OFF.
- REMOVABLE ELECTRONIC MODULE: The electronic module can be detached for cleaning or replacement.
- TEETHERS: The teether should be washed with warm soapy water before the first use and after each use. Do not use boiling water, steam, microwave, or dishwasher to clean the teethers.
- AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF: If the unit turns off quickly during play, it may indicate low battery power. Consider replacing the batteries.
Battery Removal and Installation
- Ensure the unit is turned off.
- Locate the battery cover on the back of the unit and use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
- Open the battery cover and remove the battery unit by loosening another screw.
- Discard the old button cell batteries and keep them out of reach of children.
- Install 3 new button cell batteries (LR44) following the diagram inside the battery unit.
- Insert the battery unit back into the teether until it clicks into place.
- Replace the battery cover and tighten the screws securely. Adult assembly is required for battery installation.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
The product and batteries should not be disposed of in domestic waste. They contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health. Look for collection points for proper disposal. In the UK, visit www.recyclenow.com. for a list of collection points near you.
Product Usage Instructions
- Slide the ON/OFF SWITCH to the ON position ( ) to turn the unit ON.
- To activate sounds and lights, press the LIGHT-UP HEART BUTTON. Pressing quickly and continuously will produce fun sounds while pressing and holding will trigger a fun phrase and a kiss sound.
- For additional play options, refer to the MELODY LIST provided in the user manual.
NOTE: If the unit turns off quickly during play, it may indicate low battery power. Consider replacing the batteries with new ones.

This hippo teether is soft and the perfect little friend for baby. The crinkle paper arms and soft plush body provide tactile stimulation, and the lightweight design makes this hippo easy for baby to hold and play with.

WARNING : All packing materials, such as tape, plastic sheets, packaging
locks, removable tags, cable ties, cords and packaging screws are not part of
this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
NOTE: Please save this Instruction Manual as it contains important
information.
WARNING: Keep this soft toy out of the sleeping environment for babies
under twelve months to avoid suffocation risk.
Unlock the packaging locks:
- Turn the packaging lock anticlockwise several times.
- Pull out and discard the packaging lock.
GETTING STARTED
Battery Removal and Installation
- Make sure the unit is turned off.
- Find the battery cover located on the back of the unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw and then open the battery cover.
- Remove the battery unit, use a screwdriver to loosen the screw.
- Remove old button cell batteries by pushing the batteries out of the battery unit and discard old batteries. Keep out of reach of children.
- Install 3 new button cell batteries (LR44) following the diagram inside the battery unit.
- Insert the battery unit, you will hear it click into place when inserted correctly.
- Replace the battery cover and tighten to the screws to secure.
WARNING: Adult assembly is required for battery installation. Keep
batteries out of reach of children.
WARNING! Contains a button battery. A button battery can cause serious
injuries if swallowed or placed inside any part of the body. Individual
batteries are hazardous. Dispose of used batteries immediately. Keep new and
used batteries away from children. If you think batteries might have been
swallowed or placed inside any part of the body, seek immediate medical
attention.

inside any part of the body, immediately call the 24-hour Poisons Information
Centre on 13 11 26 for fast, expert advice.
IMPORTANT: BATTERY INFORMATION
- Insert batteries with the correct polarity (+ and -).
- Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Do not mix alkaline, standard (carbon-zinc) or rechargeable batteries.
- Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
- Do not short-circuit the supply terminals.
- Remove batteries during long periods of non-use.
- Remove exhausted batteries from the toy.
- Dispose of batteries safely. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire.
RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES:
- Remove rechargeable batteries (if removable) from the toy before charging.
- Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision.
- Do not charge non-rechargeable batteries.
Disposal of batteries and product
- The crossed-out wheelie bin symbols on products and batteries, or on their respective packaging, indicates they must not be disposed of in domestic waste as they contain substances that can be damaging to the environment and human health.
- The chemical symbols Hg, Cd or Pb, where marked, indicate that the battery contains more than the specified value of mercury (Hg), cadmium (Cd) or lead (Pb) set out in Battery Directive (2006/66/EC).
- The solid bar indicates that the product was placed on the market after 13th August 2005.
- Please dispose of your product and batteries responsibly.

REMOVABLE ELECTRONIC MODULE
The electronic module is removable so the fabric portion of the VTech® Little Friendlies Happy Hippo Teether and teethers can be washed by hand. REMOVE the electronic module before washing the teethers. -
TEETHERS
Before using the teethers for the first time and after each use, wash with warm soapy water, then rinse. DO NOT use boiling water, steam, microwave, or dishwasher to clean the teethers. -
AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Little Friendlies Happy Hippo Teether will automatically turn off after approximately 8 seconds without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the LIGHT-UP HEART BUTTON.- NOTE: If the unit turns off quickly during play, we suggest changing the batteries.
ACTIVITIES
- Slide the ON/OFF SWITCH to the ON position ( ) to turn the unit ON. You will hear a playful song, a phrase, and a fun sound. The light will flash with the sounds.
- Press the LIGHT-UP HEART BUTTON to hear playful phrases, songs, fun sounds, and melodies. Press the button quickly and continuously to hear fun sounds. Press and hold the button to hear a fun phrase and a kiss sound. The light will flash with the sounds.

CARE & MAINTENANCE
- Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
- Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
- Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
- Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
- The Little Friendlies Happy Hippo Teether is surface washable only.
