Warning!
The vibration and noise emission during actual use of the power tool can
differ from the declared total valuedepending on the ways in which the tool is
used, in particular, what kind of work piece is machined. It is necessary to
identify safety measured to protect the operator that are based on an
estimation of exposure in the actual conditions of use (taking account of all
parts of the operating cycle such as the times when the tool is switched off
and when it is running idle in addition to the trigger time). Try to minimize
the impact of vibration and noise. Exemplary measures to reduce vibration
exposure include wearing gloves while using the tool, limiting working time,
and using accessories in good condition.
SAFETY NOTES
Please note the included General Safety Notes and the following safety notes to avoid malfunctions, damage or physical injury.
- Persons with limited physical, sensorial or mental abilities are not allowed to use the grass and hedge shears, unless they are supervised and brief by a qualified person.
- Keep bystanders out of the working area. Stop working with the unit if bystanders are in the vicinity of the grass- and hedge shears. Do not leave the grass and hedge shears unattended.
- The grass and hedge shears can lead to serious injuries in case of improper handling and misuse. Read and understand the manual first before using the unit.
- Use the grass and hedge shears only for the intended use to cut grass around flower beds and along sidewalks and trim-ming young shoots of leaves, bushes, shrubs and hedges. Do not cut thick branches or similar material.
- Do not use the grass and hedge shears near flammable liquids or gases.
- The grass and hedge shears is not designed for continuous, professional use.
- Do not expose the grass and hedge shears to rain. Do not operate the unit in damp or wet locations and do not cut wet foliage. Do not work in the dark.
- Before using, check the grass and hedge shears for any damaged parts and do not use the grass and hedge shears if damages are detected.
- According to application wear suitable clothing and protective equipment. Do not wear loose clothing, jewellery etc. Tie up long hair
- Make sure to have a safety stand when operating the grass and hedge shears. When using ladder or scaffold, make sure the stands are stable and cannot topple over. Always keep yourself balanced when cutting with the grass and hedge shears.
- Do not carry the grass and hedge shears with the fingers on the ON/OFF switch. To protect the blades when not in use always slide the blade protection over the blades. Careful handling with the grass and hedge shears reduces the risk of injury.
- Do not attempt to remove cut material from the blades or to hold material to be cut when the blades are running. Remove jammed material from the blades after the grass and hedge shears is switched off. A moment of inattention while operat-ing the grass and hedge shears may result in serious personal injury.
- The blades are very sharp. Do not touch the blades during use and keep fingers, hair, clothing and similar objects away from the blades. Switch on the unit only when your fingers and
- feet are clear off the blades. Please note that the blades will still move for some seconds after switching off. Wait unit the blades have come to a standstill.
- Keep the blades always sharp and clean. Replace defective or completely worn blades with original parts only. Blunt blades will overload of the grass and hedge shears.
- When cutting grass or hedges make sure the blades will not touch stones, wire etc. Always make sure metal parts, fences etc. cannot be caught in the blades. This will lead to damage to the blades and the unit. When the blades become blocked, immediately switch off the unit. Do not force the grass and hedge shears while cutting. Allow the unit to work at the rate for which it was designed.
- While trimming scrubs or hedges make sure not to cut hidden electric wires (fairy lights or similar). Always keep a safe distance to high-voltage power lines.
- Charge the battery of the grass and hedge shears only with the included charging station and charger. Do not charge other devices with this accessory.
- Only charge the battery at an ambient temperature between 10º C and 40º C. A charged battery can be used to power the unit under ambient temperature conditions between 0º C and 50º C. Do not expose the battery to extreme conditions such as heat or impacts. The battery can be damaged and corro-sive liquid can leak out. Battery acid is very aggressive and can lead to serious acid burns.
- When not in use, store the battery in a dry place between 10º C and 30º C out of reach of children and persons in need of supervision.
- Do not disassemble burn or short-circuit batteries.
- Should the grass and hedge shears become damaged do not use it and have it repaired by a professional or contact our customer support department. Do not disassemble the grass and hedge shears or try repairing it yourself.
Additional Battery and Charger Safety Notes
- WARNING: Li-Ion batteries, if incorrectly used, stored or charged are a fire, burn and explosion hazard.
Use the battery charger correctly
- Refer to the section of this manual relating to use of the battery charger before attempting to charge the battery.
- Do not attempt to use the charger with other batteries. Keep the battery charger clean; Foreign objects and dirt can cause a short circuit and block the ventilation holes. Failure to follow these instructions may result in overheating or fire.
- Allow batteries to cool for 15 minutes after charging or heavy use. Failure to follow these instructions may cause overheating or fire.
- Use only chargers recommended by the manufacturer to charge the batteries. If a charger is not suitable for a certain kind of battery there is a risk of fire.
- Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs.
- Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.
- The device is designed for operation in altitudes of up to 2000 m above sea level. Keep the battery out of reach of children. When not in use batteries should be stored at room temperature (approx. 20˚ C).
- Do not open, disassemble, crush, heat above 60° C or incinerate. Do not dispose of in fire or similar.
- Keep the battery away from other metal objects, like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or other small metal objects that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery terminals together may cause burns or a fire.
- If used incorrectly, liquid may leak from the battery. Avoid contact with it. In case of accidental contact, rinse with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
- Be careful when using the unit near flammable or easy fusible materials such as plastics or glass. Do not direct the unit for long time at the same place. Never point the running unit to people, animals, plants, flammable objects or liquids.
- Do not use the unit in explosive atmosphere.
- Be aware that heat may be conducted to combustible materials that are out of sight.
- Please note that poisonous gases may be emitted while removing paint. Use suitable inhalation protection and ensure adequate ventilation.
- Keep the air slots and the nozzle clean to avoid overheating the unit and to prevent from fire hazard.
- Use original accessory only
Batteries do not belong in the household garbage.
