Product Usage Instructions

Check your device’s part number (189139x-02) to determine if it requires an upgrade. If the revision letter is E or earlier, the device needs a memory upgrade.
Download the upgrade request form from ni.com/info using the code “rdc1yp”. Follow the instructions on the page to complete the form and obtain an RMA number for tracking the return status of your device.
Prior to sending the device to National Instruments (NI), back up any program or data files that you have on the device. The device will be returned with factory software installed.
Once you have received your RMA number, you will be provided with the address of a local repair center. Ship the device to this address, ensuring that you clearly indicate the RMA number on the packaging.
Customers in the US and Europe can expect to receive their upgraded device within 10 working days after shipping it to NI.

NOTE TO USERS
NI CVS-1454 Memory Upgrade
As we continue to add new features to Vision Builder AI, the disk footprint on remote targets has increased. With this release of Vision Builder AI, NI CVS-1454 compact vision systems with 32 MB of non-volatile memory are no longer able to support Vision Builder AI. To determine if your device is affected, refer to the part number on your device (189139x-02, where x is the revision letter). If your device is revision E or earlier, the device requires an upgrade to run Vision Builder AI.

Note NI CVS-1455 and NI CVS-1456 devices are not affected.

Complete the following steps to send your device to National Instruments to upgrade the memory at a reasonable cost:

Download the upgrade request form—Visit ni.com/info and enter rdc1yp. Follow the instructions on the page. You will receive an RMA number to track the return status of your device.
Back up your data—Before sending the device to NI, back up any program or data files. The device will be returned with factory software installed.
Ship the device—You will receive the address of a local repair center when you receive your RMA number. Please clearly indicate the RMA number on the packaging. US and European customers should receive their upgraded device within 10 working days.
