number required for installation.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Please read and understand this entire manual before attempting to assemble, operate or install the product.
- Before you begin installing the fan, disconnect the power by removing fuses or turning off the circuit breakers.
- Make sure all electrical connections comply with local codes, ordinances, the National Electrical Code and ANSI/NFPA 70- 199. Hire an electrician or consult a do-it-yourself handbook if you are unfamiliar with installing electrical wiring.
- Make sure the installation site you choose allows a minimum of 7 feet from the blades to the floor and at least 30 inches from the tip of the blades to any obstruction.
- The weight of the fan is 26.07 pounds.
DANGER
When using an existing outlet box, make sure it is securely attached to the
building structure and can support the full weight of the fan. Failure to this
can result in serious injury or death. The stability of the outlet box is
essential in minimizing wobble and noise in the fan after installation is
complete.
WARNING
To avoid personal injury, the use of gloves may be necessary while handling
fan parts with sharp edges.
WARNING
Using a full-range dimmer switch to control fan speed will cause a humming
sound from the fan. To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do NOT use a
full-range dimmer switch to control fan speed.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, mount the
fan to an outlet box marked “ACCEPTABLE FOR FAN SUPPORT” and use the mounting
screws provided with the outlet box. Most outlet boxes commonly used for the
support of lighting fixtures are not acceptable for fan support and may need
to be replaced. Consult a qualified electrician if in doubt. Secure the outlet
box directly to the building structure. The outlet box and its support must be
able to support the moving weight of the fan (at least 35 lbs.).
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, wire
connectors provided with this fan are designed to accept only one 12-gauge
house wire and two lead wires from the fan. If your house wire is larger than
12 gauge and/or there is more than one house wire to connect to the two fan
lead wires, consult an electrician for the proper size wire connectors to use.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, do not bend
the blade arms when installing them, balancing the blades or cleaning the fan.
Do not insert objects between the rotating fan blades.
WARNING
To reduce the risk of personal injury, use only the parts provided with
this fan. The use of parts other than those provided with this fan will void
the warranty.
CAUTION
Be sure the outlet box is properly grounded or a ground (green or bare)
wire is present.
CAUTION
Carefully check all screws, bolts, and nuts on the fan assembly to ensure
they are secured.

Before beginning the assembly of this product, ensure all parts are present. Compare all parts with the package contents list and hardware contents list. If any part is missing or damaged, do not attempt to assemble the product.
Estimated assembly time: 2 hours
Tools required (not included): Electrical tape, Phillips Screwdriver, Safety
Glasses, Step Ladder, and Wire Strippers.
-
Turn off power to the fan at the breaker box and the wall switch (Figure 1.1). DANGER: Failure to disconnect the power supply prior to installation may result in serious injury or death.
-
Choose one of the following mounting options (Figure 1.2) :
Standard Mount – best suited for ceilings 8 feet or higher. For very high ceilings, use a longer download (not included). Angle Mount – best suited for angled or vaulted ceilings. A longer downrod is sometimes necessary to ensure proper blade clearance. Ensure the ceiling angle is not steeper than 10 degrees.
Flushmount Installation – not available for this model.
Closemount Installation – best suited for ceilings 8 feet or lower. -
Choose a suitable location – Ensure the blades will be at least 30 inches from any obstructions. Also, check the download length to ensure the blades will be at least 7 feet above the floor (Figure 1.3).
INITIAL INSTALLATION
- Loosen all four mounting bracket screws and completely remove the two screws from the round holes in the canopy. Then remove mounting bracket from the canopy and save them for later (Figure 2.1).
- Install the mounting bracket to the outlet box (sold separately) using the screws and washers provided with the outlet box (Figure 2.2).
- Remove the three fitter plate screws and the packing material from the motor assembly. Discard the orange packing material from the top and bottom of the motor assembly but save the three fitter plate screws for later (Figure 2.3).c
For CLOSEMOUNT INSTRUCTIONS, skip to page 6.
STANDARD OR ANGLE MOUNT INSTRUCTIONS
- Remove the download clip and download pin from the download. Then partially loosen the set screws in the yoke at the top of the motor assembly (Figure 3.1).
- Feed the fan wires through the yoke cover, canopy, and download (Figure 3.2).
- Slide the download into the yoke of the motor assembly. Align holes and reinstall the downrod pin and download clip and secure with the two set screws (Figure 3.3).
- Depending on the length of download you use, you may want to cut the fan wires to simplify wiring. After pulling the wires all the way through the download, measure 8 inches of wire. Cut off the excess wire using wire cutters (not included). Then strip 1/2 inch of insulation from the end of each wire strand (Figure 3.4).
- Install the ball end of the download into the opening of the mounting bracket (Figure 3.5). WARNING: Failure to align the slot in the ball with the tap on the mounting bracket may cause the fan to fall, which could result in injury or death.
- Insert the receiver into the opening of the mounting bracket with a flat side facing up (Figure 3.6).
Skip to FINAL INSTALLATION, page 6.
CLOSEMOUNT INSTRUCTIONS (optional)
- Remove the canopy cover from the bottom of the canopy (Figure 4.1).
- Remove the three Phillips-head close-mount screws from the top of the motor assembly. Then align the canopy with the holes in the top of the motor assembly. The larger holes in the canopy will encompass the remaining screws. Secure the canopy to the top of the motor assembly with the previously removed close-mount screws (Figure 4.2).
- Raise the motor assembly and place the canopy on the hook of the mounting bracket to free hands during the wiring process (Figure 4.3). Then, insert the receiver into the opening of the mounting bracket.
FINAL INSTALLATION
-
Use wire connectors to connect household supply and fan wires according to the diagram (Figure 5.1) and the following steps:
• Connect the green wire from the download and mounting bracket to the Bare/Green (ground) supply wire. Note: Closemount installation does not use the download, so there will only be two Green wires to connect.
• Connect the White wire with a red label from the receiver to the White (neutral) supply wire.
• Connect the Red wire with a red label from the receiver to the Black (hot/power) supply wire.
• Connect the Black wire with the white label from the receiver to the Black fan wire.
• Connect the Blue wire with the white label from the receiver to the Blue fan wire.
• Connect the White wire with the white label from the receiver to the White fan wire. -
Align the canopy over the loosened mounting bracket screws. Place the J-slot of the canopy onto the mount bracket screws and rotate clockwise (Figure 5.2).
-
Secure the canopy with the two previously removed mounting bracket screws. Tighten all the mounting bracket screws securely (Figure 5.3).
-
Partially insert three blade screws through the blade arm and the blade. Secure each blade screw with a blade screw cap, starting with the one in the middle. Repeat this step for the remaining blades and blade arms (Figure 5.4).
-
Insert blade arm (K) through slots in the side of the motor assembly. Align the holes of one blade arm with two motor screw holes in the underside of the motor assembly. Secure with two motor screws. Repeat this step for the remaining blade arms
(Figure 5.5). -
Remove one of the three fitter plate screws preassembled to the fitter plate and loosen the other two but do not remove them. Connect the single-pin connector from the fitter plate to the single-pin connector from the light kit — Blue to Black and White to White. Align the slotted holes in the light kit with the loosened screws in the fitter plate. Turn the light kit clockwise and replace the previously removed fitter plate screw. Tighten all screws (Figure 5.6).
-
Attach the lens cover to the light kit by twisting the lens cover tightly in a clockwise direction (Figure 5.7).
-
Remove the battery cover from the back of the remote transmitter and insert the 12-volt battery, noting polarity — positive (+) to positive (+) and negative (-) to negative (-). Replace the battery cover. If battery is installed correctly, the LED indicator on the front of the remote transmitter should illuminate when any button is pushed (Figure 5.8).
-
(Optional) If you wish to install the wall bracket for the remote, insert the two screws through the wall bracket and into the wall. Once the wall bracket is installed, hang the slot in the back of the remote over the top of the wall bracket (Figure 5.9). Turn on the power to the fan at the breaker box and the wall switch. The assembly is complete.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
-
To operate the fan using the remote, press and release the following buttons:
High fan speed
Medium fan speed
Low fan speed
Fan Power – Turns the fan off. Light Delay Off mode – Press and hold the fan power button for five seconds, which will turn off light after one minute. The LED indicator on the remote will flash four times to confirm mode setting.
Light Control: Dimmable Bulbs – Press light control to turn lights off and on. Press and hold light control to dim or brighten the lights. Non-dimmable Bulbs -Turns the lights on and off. Note: The dimmer function does not work with CFL bulbs.
D/CFL Switch: Switch should be set to “D” to correspond with the included LED bulbs, which will enable the dimming function. Flip to “CFL” if you change to non-dimmable bulbs. (Figure 6.1). -
Use the reverse switch located on the top of the motor assembly to optimize your fan for seasonal performance. In warmer weather, push the reverse switch left, which will result in downward airflow creating a wind chill effect. In cooler weather, push the reverse switch right and the fan to low, which will result in upward airflow that can help move stagnant, hot air off the ceiling area (Figure 6.2).

Frequently Asked Questions
Does this support separate wall light/fan switch(extra blue cable)?
You CAN hook this fan to the wall switches... I find it frustrating to see people say no and giving misinformation. The fan comes with a receiver and remote, all you have to do is bypass the receiver to get it to work on a light switch, i.e. connect your red wire from the ceiling (which is your live light wire) to the blue wire coming from the motor of the fan. As long as the fan exposes the blue (live light) wire this technique will work on most fans with remotes (I have done it 3 times now on different brands/models - the only time it hasn't worked is on a fan that hid the blue wire inside the motor). This fan exposes black/white/blue from the motor so this bypass will work. Just make sure to cap off the blue wire coming off the receiver, and your good to go.
What type of motor does this have? Is it DC?
This is 120 vac, not DC. It comes with a remote control that uses 3 set speeds and works well but if you decide not to use it can direct wire to a standard 120-volt ac service.
Can it be flush mounted?
Yes, it can. The manual says it can't but if the rod is removed, the top part and the fan can be bolted directly together flush-mounted. It's not even a modified thing, it's literally made to be, but for some reason, it is left out of this version's manual.
Can this light be flush mounted for low ceiling applications?
Yes, it can. The manual says no but the rod can be removed and the top and fan bolted together directly and flush mounted. Have this and it's flush-mounted in my living room. The manual leaves this option out, but it in fact CAN BE.
Can this fan be installed outdoors?
I installed mine on my covered patio with no walls. Not waterproof but can go outdoors if protected from direct rain.
What type of led replacement do i need to change the light color?
The bulbs are integrated and not replaceable. Furthermore, mine was faulty and the light shuts off after a few seconds.
The light stopped working, do we replace LED?
The LED devices are not user replaceable. If still under warranty, contact the manufacturer.
Do you need to used the support braided wire?
I have boxes that are secured to my ceiling joists which were strong and did not need the wire. I actually cut it to make it easier to wire. I would not recommend mounting this fan to a box that is not strongly secured. The box screws are strong enough to hold this fan but your ceiling will fail.
What is the highest watt led bulb that can be used and is it only hold one bulb or multi bulb?
The light is made into the fan no bulb included.
Is this a dc operated motor?
No, not using DC power. It runs AC
Can this be controlled by a wall switch? And not the remote?
Only can be turned on and off with a wall switch. Remote controls speed and light options. Remote can be mounted.
Can you change the signal on the remote for two different fans?
Yes, it is in the owner's manual that comes with the fan.
Can you bypass the remote and connect to a smart fan switch to work with Alexa?
Yes you can. The light and fan each have a power lead that connect to the remote receiver. Either or both could bypass the receiver and be powered directly from a wall switch, smart or traditional. Obviously, you lose the control capability of the remote but the light can be dimmed by a smart dimmer if desired. I set mine up to have one switch for the light and one for the fan, with the fan still controlled by the remote receiver. When power is turned off at the switch, the fan stops of course, and when it is turned back on, the fan resumes the last programed speed set by the remote. The light bypasses the remote and uses an AC dimmer built into the wall switch.
