Mosaic Palette 2
INTRODUCTION
Palette 2 splices up to 4 filaments together and feeds them into your printer in real time to create multi-color, multi-material prints without any modifications to your printer.
- Slice, color, and optimize your prints with CANVAS, our online platform.
- Palette 2 receives the print file and uses it to produce custom spliced filament.
- Your printer will use this filament to create multimaterial prints.

SETTING UP PALETTE 2 (1/4)
- Palette 2 can be used in several positions: (1) using the included Stand, (2) with the Mounting Bracket, or (3) laying flat.
- The Stand slides into the Mounting Tabs on the back of Palette 2.
- Palette 2 can be mounted onto printers or other surfaces using the Mounting Bracket.
- Your Palette is heavy; please use appropriate hardware (not included).
- Palette 2 has rubber pads on its back for grip and protection.
SETTING UP PALETTE 2 (2/4)
- Select the appropriate Outgoing Tube. Most printers use the Medium Tube. Bowden printers typically use the Small Tube.
- Insert the wide end of the Outgoing Tube into your Palette 2 until you feel it lock in place.
SETTING UP PALETTE 2 (3/4)
- Insert the narrow end of the Outgoing Tube into the Extruder Clip.
- Secure the Velcro Square next to your extruder’s filament input.
- Press the Velcro together to secure the Extruder Clip.
- The Outgoing Tube should align with your extruder’s filament input.
SETTING UP PALETTE 2 (4/4)
- Insert two Filament Rods into the holes at the base of the Spool Holder Side.
- Firmly press the sides together.
- Place filament spools on the third Filament Rod.
- Lower the Filament Rod into the notches on top of the Spool Holders.

STARTING YOUR FIRST PRINT

CANVAS is a web-based app designed for multi-material 3D printing. You can use
it for slicing, coloring, customizing, and more. CANVAS will walk you
through how to slice models for printing with Palette 2.

ACCESSING THE FILAMENT PATH
If you encounter a broken filament or a jam in your Palette 2, follow these steps to access and remove the filament.
- Take the Top Cover out by gently lifting it from the sides.
- Remove the Thumb Screws on the Ingoing and Outgoing Covers to take them off.
- WARNING: Please disconnect the power supply for at least 30 seconds before carrying out this step.
- Gently use your finger to rotate the Cutter Wheel 180°. Loosen the Thumb Screw to remove the Homing Switch Cover.
- Remove the Long Thumb Screw to take off Splice Core.
REPLACING THE SPLICE TUBE
We recommend replacing the Splice Tube every ~15,000 splices.
WARNING: Once removed, Splice Tubes may be difficult or impossible to
reinsert. Consider contacting Mosaic Support before performing these steps.
- Rotate the tab on Splice Core.
- Gently pull the tab. Reverse steps with a new Splice Tube.
