BUSHRANGER RJX01 Jack Inflatable Vehicle Jack

Product Information

The X JACK (RJX01) is a vehicle recovery tool that utilizes compressed air to lift a vehicle from below, allowing for tire changes or other repairs. The kit includes the X JACK, heavy-duty storage bag, hose A and B, protective mat, instructions, replacement seal kit, protective gloves, and compressor adapter. The reinforced PVC material can support up to 2000 kg and has an inflated height of 750 mm and an inflated diameter of 650 mm. The total kit weight is 8.6kg, with the X JACK weighing only 5.4kg.

Product Usage Instructions

Before using the X JACK, it is important to read and follow all guidelines and warnings provided in the instructions and manual to avoid injury, damage to parts, and equipment.

Step 1: Secure Vehicle from Rolling
Apply the handbrake and chock three remaining wheels to stop the vehicle from moving.

Step 2: Prepare X JACK
Compress the X JACK with the top and base on top of each other. Connect hose A to the X JACK inlet by turning it in a clockwise direction and tighten. Assemble hose B to hose A, with the compressor adapter between them and lay out flat to remove any kinks. Use the protective mat between the vehicle and the X JACK to help prevent punctures.

Step 3: Position X JACK Under Vehicle
Select a strong underbody location capable of supporting the weight of the vehicle. Never locate under fuel tanks, fragile plastic body parts, or exhaust systems. Avoid sharp body protrusions, brackets, bolts, or edges. See figure 2 in the instructions for recommended recovery locations. Position the X JACK so it lifts no more than one wheel off the ground.

Step 4: Lifting Operation (No Person(s) Shall Remain in Vehicle)
Start the compressor and allow the X JACK to lift the vehicle. Never get under a raised vehicle.

Step 5: Lowering Operation
Lower the vehicle by slowly turning the hose anti-clockwise to deflate the X JACK. Ensure not to deflate too quickly, or it will cause a rapid deflation of the X JACK resulting in an uncontrolled lowering of the vehicle. Keep all body parts clear of the vehicle while deflating.

Step 6: Inspection
After recovery, ensure the vehicle is stationary and secure. Remove recovery equipment and inspect the X JACK for damage before packing it. If any damage is noted, do not use it and contact the office for further advice.

X JACK Guidelines

STEP 1: Secure Vehicle from Rolling
Apply handbrake and chock three remaining wheels to stop vehicle from moving.

STEP 2: Prepare X JACK

  • Compress X JACK with the top and base on top of each other (similar to a crushed drink can).
  • Connect the hose A to the X JACK inlet by turning in a clockwise direction and tighten.

Note: Make sure the sealing ring is free of sand or dirt.
Assemble hose B to hose A, with the compressor adapter between them and lay out flat to remove any kinks. Use protective mat between the vehicle and the X JACK to help prevent punctures.

Note: You can use your cab floor mats to give you extra bag protection if required.
Using a shovel, ensure all four wheels of the immobilised vehicle have a clear path in the direction that the vehicle will travel during recovery.

STEP 3: Position X JACK Under Vehicle Compressor Adapter
Figure 1 Select a strong underbody location capable of supporting weight of vehicle. Never locate under fuel tanks, fragile plastic body parts or exhaust system. Avoid sharp body protrusions, brackets, bolts or edges. See figure 2 for recommended recovery locations.

Where possible use X JACK on level ground.

Note: Where possible position X JACK so it lifts no more than one wheel off the ground

STEP 4: Lifting Operation (No Person(s) Shall Remain in Vehicle)
Make sure vehicle’s gearbox is in neutral or park and start vehicle’s engine and allow to idle.

  • OPTION A – Air Compressor: Inflate XJack by connecting an air line to the compressor adapter inlet – Do NOT leave unattended.
  • OPTION B – Vehicle Exhaust: Firmly press rubber cone end of hose over vehicle’s exhaust pipe end, making sure the hose has no kinks.

Note: DO NOT get under a raised vehicle.
When X JACK is partially inflated (just touching vehicle) turn off air compressor/engine and ensure the X JACK is squarely in position and clear of sharp edges and hot areas. Check to see if protective mats are correctly positioned –
See Note 1 below. Restart air compressor/engine and continue to inflate X JACK until wheel is clear off the ground, then turn off air compressor/engine. Do NOT inflate beyond required height or exceed 68.9 kPa (10psi) – X JACK does NOT need to be fully inflated for recovery.

  • Note 1: If X JACK does not achieve an upright position or is not positioned correctly during inflation process, stop operation. Deflate X JACK – see Step 5 Lowering Operation then repeat Step 4 after realigning X JACK.
  • Note 2: If the X JACK does not inflate, check the exhaust system for leaks.
  • Note 3: Do NOT overinflate. If X JACK reaches full inflation (i.e. 10psi) or stoped lifting the vehicle, STOP operation.

STEP 5: Lowering Operation
It is important to lower the vehicle by slowly turning the hose anti-clockwise to deflate X JACK. Ensure not to deflate too
quickly or it will cause a rapid deflation of the X JACK resulting in an uncontrolled lowering of the vehicle.

Note: Ensure all body parts are kept clear of vehicle whilst deflating.

STEP 6: Inspection
After recovery, ensure vehicle is stationary and secure. Remove recovery equipment. Inspect X JACK for damage before packing. If damage noted, please do not use. Contact our office on the number stated below for further advice.
