FoodSaver V4400 Series Food Preservation System
V4400 Series Quick Start Guide
This product is a vacuum sealer that can be used to seal and vacuum seal bags for food storage. The following instructions explain how to use the product:
How to Seal a Bag
- Open the appliance door and place the roll into the roll holder with the material flap down.
- Lift up the roll cutter bar and place the bag material beneath it.
- Pull out enough bag material to hold the item being vacuum-sealed, plus 3 inches (7.62 cm). Lower the roll cutter bar and slide the bag cutter across the cutter bar.
- Press the seal button. The red seal indicator light will illuminate.
- Using two hands, slowly insert the open end of the bag, curled down, into the vacuum channel until the clamp motor starts. Insert the bag curl downward.
- When the red seal indicator light turns off, sealing is complete. You may remove the bag from the vacuum channel.
How to Vacuum Seal a Bag
- Place item(s) in bag, allowing at least 3 inches (7.62 cm) of space between bag contents and top of bag.
- Extra space is required to allow the bag to seal tightly around the contents.
- Insert bag curl downward and zipper closed with a finger while bag is lying down on a flat surface.
- Place the end of the retractable handheld sealer over the container valve.
- Press the accessory button to vacuum. To release the vacuum and open, turn knob on lid to open.

MAKE A FOODSAVER® BAG
- Open Appliance Door and place the roll into Roll Holder. For best results, insert the roll with the material flap down.
- Lift up Roll Cutter Bar and place bag material beneath the Cutter Bar.
- Pull out enough bag material to hold the item being vacuum sealed, plus 3 inches (7.62 cm). Lower the Roll Cutter Bar and slide Bag Cutter across the Cutter Bar.
- Press the Seal Button. Red Seal Indicator Light will illuminate.
- Using two hands, slowly insert the open end of bag, curled down, into Vacuum the Channel until the clamp motor starts.
- When Red Seal Indicator Light turns off, sealing is complete. You may remove bag from the Vacuum Channel.
VACUUM SEAL A FOODSAVER® BAG
- Place item(s) in bag, allowing at least 3 inches (7.62 cm) of space between bag contents and top of bag. The extra space is required to allow the bag to seal tightly around the contents.
- Your new FoodSaver® System automatically vacuums and seals. To Vacuum: DO NOT PRESS THE SEAL BUTTON. Using two hands, slowly insert the open end of the bag, curled down, into Vacuum Channel.
- Continue to hold bag until Vacuum Pump starts. You may now release bag. The Vacuum Progress Lights will illuminate.
- When Red Seal Indicator Light turns off, remove bag. Refrigerate, freeze or store as needed.
VACUUM SEAL FOODSAVER® ZIPPER BAGS: (available in select models)
- Prepare Zipper Bags according to FoodSaver® Accessory Guidelines, which are included with accessory purchases. For Zipper Bags, make sure not to put any food under the valve and press zipper closed with a finger while bag is lying down on a flat surface.
- Place end of the Retractable Handheld Sealer over the Container valve.
- Press the Accessory Button to vacuum. To release the vacuum and open, turn the knob on Lid to Open. Zipper bags are safe for pantry and fridge use only.

CONTAINERS: (sold separately)
- Prepare FoodSaver® Preserve & Marinate Container according to Guidelines, which are included with container purchase.
- Place end of the Retractable Handheld Sealer over the Container valve.
- Press the Accessory Button to vacuum. To release the vacuum and open, turn knob on Lid to Open. To release the vacuum and open, turn knob on lid to Open.
