Product Information

The HDMI 2.0 eARC Extender 4KEX40-eARC is a device that allows you to transmit 4K@60Hz 4:4:4 uncompressed signal up to 40m/131ft via a single Cat 6 or above cable. It is compatible with HDCP 2.3 and backward compatible. It supports HDR formats up to 4K@60Hz, including HLG, HDR10, HDR10+, and Dolby Vision. It also supports eARC and ARC audio return. The device supports bi-directional IR pass-through and bi-directional PoC, which means only one power adapter is needed to be connected to the transmitter or receiver to power both units. It is plug-and-play with no driver needed and supports firmware upgrades through Micro USB port.

Product Usage Instructions

  • Step 1: Check the package contents. The package should contain a transmitter, a receiver, a power adapter (DC 12V 2A), an IR emitter, an IR receiver (30 KHz ~ 50 KHz), mounting brackets (with screws), and a user manual.

  • Step 2: Install the mounting brackets. To install the mounting brackets, follow the instructions provided in the user manual.

  • Step 3: Connect the devices. Connect the HDMI source to the HDMI In port of the transmitter, and connect the HDMI display to the HDMI Out port of the receiver. Connect the power adapter to either the transmitter or receiver, and then connect the provided IR receiver cable and IR emitter cable to their respective ports on either the transmitter or receiver.

  • Step 4: Power on the devices. The Power LED on the front panel of both devices should turn on to indicate that the devices are powered on.

  • Step 5: Check the HDBT link status. The Link LED on the front panel of both devices should turn on to indicate that the HDBT link is normal. If the Link LED is off, there may be no HDBT link or a link error.

  • Step 6: Check the HDCP status. The HDCP LED on the front panel of both devices should turn on to indicate that HDCP content is being transmitted. If the HDCP LED is blinking, non-HDCP content is being transmitted. If the HDCP LED is off, there is no HDMI signal.

  • Step 7: Check the eARC status. The eARC LED on the front panel of both devices should turn on to indicate that eARC audio is being transmitted. If the eARC LED is off, there is no eARC audio being transmitted.
Note: If both source and sink TV support eARC, it would transmit eARC audio. If both source and sink TV support ARC, or one supports ARC and the other supports eARC, it would transmit ARC audio. If either of the source or sink TV doesn’t support ARC, it would not transmit returned audio.

  • Step 8: Upgrade firmware (optional). To upgrade the firmware, connect the Micro USB port on either device to a PC and follow the instructions provided in the user manual.
Note: For more detailed information, please refer to the user manual provided with the product.
