HM-KG-M410S Knife Sharpener

The HM-KG-M410S Knife Sharpener is a device designed to sharpen and polish the blades of kitchen knives. It comes with two whetstones that face the user during usage. Safety Information

Please read this manual carefully before use and keep it for future reference.
The knife sharpener must not be used by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and knowledge.
A knife sharpener is not a toy. Please keep away from children. Children must not play with the sharpener.
They must not perform cleaning and maintenance performed by the user.
This knife sharpener is designed for sharpening knives. It is not intended for sharpening ceramic knives, scissors and similar objects.
Take extra care when handling the knife. There is a risk of serious injury.
Do not expose the sharpener to extreme temperatures. Do not place the sharpener near an oven, stove or other heat sources.
Do not use the knife sharpener to sharpen new knives.

USE

1. Place the knife sharpener on a firm, level work surface with the whetstones facing the user.
2. Hold the sharpener in the upper part with one hand and pull through the knife with the other hand.
3. To achieve high-quality sharpening, it is important to pull the knife towards yourself.
4. Do not move the blade back and forth. Always pull it in one direction.
5. Keep fingers away from the whetstones during usage.
6. Store the knife sharpener in a dry place out of the reach of children.

Usage Instructions

1. Place the knife sharpener on a firm, level work surface with the whetstones facing the user.

2. Hold the sharpener in the upper part with one hand and pull through the knife with the other hand.

3. To achieve a high-quality sharpening, it is important to pass the knife several times between the whetstones. Do not press on the knife when sharpening; the pressure during passing through should be constant and adequate.

4. Make sure the knife blade is clean and dry.

5. Insert the blade between the whetstones with the tip of the knife pointing down and the handle above the blade. Pull the knife toward yourself. Repeat this process several times (at least five times and more depending on the condition of the blade).
   Note: Do not move the knife blade back and forth. Always pull in one direction.

6. For fine sharpening, insert the knife between the whetstones with the tip of the knife pointing up and the handle below the level of the blade. Pull the knife toward yourself.

7. If you need to polish the blade, spread the whetstones apart and lay the knife blade flat between the whetstones. Move the knife back and forth several times. Never drop the knife on whetstones, always place it carefully.

8. Sharpening Japanese knives: Insert the knife between the whetstones, hold it vertically and tilt it at a 35° angle to the left (if the bevel is on the left side) or to the right (if the bevel is on the right side). Carefully pull the knife towards you.

9. Sharpening serrated knives: Insert the knife between the whetstones, hold it vertically and tilt it at a 35° angle to the left (if the bevel is on the left side) or to the right (if the bevel is on the right side). Carefully pull the knife towards you.

10. After finishing sharpening, rinse the knife blade with clean water, dry it and store the knife in a safe place.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Wipe the whetstones and the sharpener with a slightly moistened sponge. Wipe dry. Do not use plastic or metal scouring pads, harsh cleaning agents, chemicals, gasoline, solvents or other similar substances for cleaning. The surface finish could be seriously damaged.
Store the knife sharpener in a dry place out of the reach of children.
