INSTALLATION & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Panel Track Hardware

Thank you for your purchase. This roller shade panel track has been custom- built for you from the highest quality materials. To avoid errors and save valuable time, please read these instructions before installing your new blind. Hardware should always be installed by qualified installers with a good understanding of interior wall types, window frames, and the required tools.

TOOLS YOU WILL NEED

  1. Pencil or Marker
  2. Measuring Tape
  3. Phillips Screwdriver
  4.  Level
  5. Power Drill
  6. Ladder

Fasteners

  • 8 screws for wood or aluminum

  • Plastic inserts for drywall or plaster
  • Auger threaded metal or plastic inserts for drywall
  • Molly bolts for drywall
  • Toggle bolts for drywall or lath & plaster

ALTA Roller Shade Panel Track - Fasteners

IMPORTANT: For installation in wood or aluminum frames, it is recommended you use the sheet metal screws included with your custom shades. For other types of wall or window construction, you will need to furnish different fasteners.
NOTE: Fastener strength should be rated more than the weight of the shade.

GETTING STARTED

All of the required installation components are wrapped in the package along with these instructions. With proper installation, operation, and care, your new shades will provide years of beauty and performance. Please thoroughly review this instruction booklet before beginning the installation.
NOTE: Some parts may vary depending upon your selected mounting options or control system options.

MOUNTING TYPE

If the installation brackets are mounted correctly, the rest of the installation process will follow easily. Prior to mounting the brackets, add any clearance depth required to avoid obstructions.

Panel Track hardware installation brackets are either 2 and 3 or 4 and 5 way.
Mounting the bracket level is essential to the proper operation of the tracks.ALTA Roller Shade Panel Track - Fig8

Inside or Ceiling Mount

MARK THE BRACKET LOCATIONS:

  1. Measure 4” from the edge of the window frame (or edge of the track for the ceiling) on each side and mark the location with a pencil.
  2.  Space the additional installation brackets evenly between the 2 end brackets and mark the location(s) with a pencil.
  3. Make sure that the brackets are level with each other.
  4. Verify adequate clearance allowance is made for panel operation.

MOUNT THE BRACKETS:

  1. Place the bracket against the top of the window frame (or ceiling) and attach using the provided screw.
  2. Repeat this step until all the brackets are placed in position and aligned.

ATTACH THE TRACK:

  1. Position tracking in a place where it is centered in the window and the operating wand is on the correct side.
  2.  Hook the front of the track onto the lip of the bracket and snap the back of the track into the back of the bracket.

Outside and Wall Mount

MARK THE BRACKET LOCATIONS:

  1. Measure 4” from the edge of the track on each side and mark the location of the installation brackets with a pencil.
  2. Space the additional installation brackets evenly between the 2 end brackets and mark the location(s) with a pencil.
  3. Make sure that the brackets are level with each other.
  4.  Verify adequate clearance allowance is made for panel operation.

MOUNT THE BRACKETS:

  1. Place the wall-mount bracket assembly against the top of the window frame and attach using the provided screw.
  2.  Repeat this step until all the brackets are placed in position and aligned.

ATTACH THE TRACK:

  1. Position the track in a place where it is centered in the window and the operating wand is on the correct side.
  2. Hook the front of the track onto the lip of the bracket and snap the back of the track into the back of the bracket.

Mounting the Panels

  1. Unpack each panel and align the Velcro strip on the fabric to the one on the carrier.
  2. Starting from one end, start pressing the fabric against it until the panel is secured.
  3.  Repeat this process until all panels are in place.

Mounting the Fabric Cornice — INSIDE MOUNT

  1. Center the cornice in the desired location.

  2. Mark 2” from each jamb for screw location. Mark the mounting surface using a pencil.

  3. Drill screw holes.
    IMPORTANT: Use drywall anchors when mounting into drywall. Inside Mount Screws Required

  1. Install the cornice through the
    slotted angle bracket to the mounting surface with the #8 x 1-1/4” screws provided.

Mounting the Fabric Cornice — OUTSIDE MOUNT

  1. Attach the returns to the valance.
    • Check the angle on each return.
    • Fasten screws into the valance.
    • Repeat for opposite return.ALTA Roller Shade Panel Track -

  2. Skip to the next step if ordered with a shade. If ordered custom returns under Fabric Cornice Only (without shade) , place the 8” bracket on top of the slotted angle next to the return. With the back of the bracket flush with the back edge of the return, mark the cut mark just past the screw hole that lines up with the slotted angle. Then cut the bracket at the mark.

  3. Measure the distance from the top edge of the cornice to the first complete hole in the slotted angle. Use that measurement to mark the location for the first bracket at the desired height.   4. Drill the screw holes. (Use drywall anchors when needed)

  5. Attach the installation brackets with the screws provided.
    • Ensure the mounting surface is level and brackets are aligned. Shim brackets, if needed.ALTA Roller Shade Panel Track -

  6. Using the bolts and nuts provided, attach the slotted angle on top of the installation brackets.

Mounting the Deluxe Valance — INSIDE MOUNT

INSIDE MOUNT

  1. Mounted directly with the provided installation screws, drilled vertically with swivel brackets under the valance into the top of the window frame.

Mounting the Deluxe Valance — OUTSIDE MOUNT

  1. Attach the following parts to the installation bracket:
    • Attach each bracket in the sequence shown on the right.
    • Attach panel track deluxe valance bracket & swivel bracket underneath the L bracket.

Operating the Panel Track
