This guide was designed to help you quickly get started and answer any functional questions you have regarding your speaker. Overview

The OontZ Angle 3 allows you to listen to music, videos and games wirelessly from almost all smartphones, tablets and other Bluetooth devices. This speaker delivers surprisingly loud sound and deep rich bass in high quality, distortion-free stereo sound. The OontZ Angle 3 is also IPX5* water resistant, designed to be splash proof and dust proof. Altogether, it is the perfect speaker for listening to by the beach, pool and in the shower. Its rechargeable battery will provide up to 7** hours of continuous listening from a fully charged battery. With its built-in microphone, you can use your OontZ Angle 3 as a wireless hands-free personal speakerphone when connected via Bluetooth to most smartphones. This speaker can support a wireless Bluetooth connection up to 33 unobstructed feet away from your device. You can also listen to PCs, laptops, Apple computers and non-Bluetooth devices by connecting them to the OontZ Angle 3 with the included 3.5mm audio cable.

*The IPX5 certification test consists of low pressure Water projected by a nozzle (6.3 mm) from all directions, without resulting in a harmful effect to the speaker. It is not submersible and should never be placed in or under water, this could result in irreparable damage to the speaker.
** Battery play time varies and may be less than 7 hours for a number of reasons including the listening volume (the louder the volume, the shorter the play time), the device, Bluetooth connection, and music genre and music source. The 7 hours was determined with a fully charged OontZ Angle 3 set at approximately 50 percent of the maximum volume.

The Buttons and connectors

  1. Built-in Microphone for Speakerphone

  2. Bluetooth Indicator Light (Blue) – When you turn on your OontZ Angle 3 this light will flash blue slowly for about five seconds. It will then either flash blue quickly to indicate the speaker is in pairing more or it will be solid blue to indicate the speaker has already connected to a device and is ready to play

  3. Bluetooth Button (Dual-Function) – To switch to a di erent Bluetooth device and answer or end a phone call in Speakerphone mode

  4. VOL – Button – Press and hold down or press multiple times to decrease the volume

  5. Pause/Play Button – Press and release the button to pause and resume your music
    Note: Pause/Play Button may not function with some source devices and music apps

  6. VOL + Button – Press and hold down or press multiple times to increase the volume. Note: ensure your source device volume is turned up high

  7. Charging Indicator Light (Red) This light will flash very slowly red when the OontZ Angle 3 is being charged. The light will be solid red when the
    OontZ Angle 3 is fully charged.

  9. Black Rubber Flap – Both the AUX IN JACK (10) and Micro USB Charging Port (11) are located under the rubber flap on the back side of the OontZ Angle 3. Open the flap by gently lifting the bottom edge. The top of the flap is attached to the speaker. The flap is very tightly fitted to the speaker to prevent water and dust getting to the connectors. Please make sure this flap is closed and sealed tightly when the connectors are not being used. Note: when using the audio cable, the flap will be open and the speaker cannot be exposed to water

  10. AUX IN Jack (under the black rubber flap) – This jack if for listening to non-Bluetooth devices or your laptop or computer by inserting one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the jack and the other end of the cable into the headphone jack on your laptop, computer or device.

  11. Micro USB Charging Port (under the black rubber flap) – This port is for used for charging the OontZ Angle 3 battery only. You can use the included Micro USB cable connected to a laptop or PC; or you can use an iPhone/Smartphone or tablet USB wall Power Adapter (not included) to charge your OontZ Angle 3

Charging the battery

The OontZ Angle 3 has a Lithium Ion rechargeable battery inside. To charge it, plug the micro connector end of the USB cable into the Micro USB Charging Port (11) on the back of the OontZ Angle 3 and the other end into a USB charging source. The source can be either from your desktop, laptop, or Smartphone USB wall Power Adapter (not included). The Charging Indicator Light (7) on the top will flash red very slowly while charging. When the OontZ Angle 3 battery is fully charged, the charging indicator light will be solid red. The battery will take about 3 to 4 hours to fully charge.
Note 1. When the battery is low the red light will begin to flash, this indicates that the OontZ Angle 3
requires charging.
Note 2. You may use your OontZ Angle 3 while it is charging.
Note 3. It is recommended that you remove the charging cable after the OontZ Angle 3 is fully charged.
When fully charged, the OontZ Angle 3 can play audio for up to 7 hours. This play time may vary for a number of reasons including; the volume (louder volume results in shorter playtime), device, connection (aux or Bluetooth), and music type.

Pairing the OontZ Angle 3 to your Bluetooth device

Make sure your OontZ Angle 3 has su cient charge or connect to a charging source. Pair and connect wirelessly to your Bluetooth device by following these steps:
Step 1 – Turn on the speaker by pressing and releasing the ON/OFF Button (8). The Bluetooth Indicator Light (2) on the side of the OontZ Angle 3 will flash blue. This indicates that the speaker is in pairing mode and is ready to pair and connect to your device.
Step 2 – Enable the Bluetooth function on your device and then search/scan for the OontZ Angle 3. When “OontZ Angle” appears on the Bluetooth device list, select it and your device will pair and connect to the speaker. Make sure your device indicates that it is connected to “OontZ Angle” in your device list. If your device requests a password, enter “0000”.
Step 3 – The Bluetooth Indicator Light (2) will turn solid blue to indicate the OontZ Angle 3 is paired and connected to your device. You can now play wirelessly from your device. You can adjust the speaker volume from your device and the VOL + Button (6) and the VOL – Button (4) on the speaker.
Important: to reach high volume make sure the volume on your device is set high and the OontZ Angle 3 volume is set high.
Note 1. The OontZ Angle 3 can only be connected to one device at a time. You will need to disconnect the first device from the OontZ Angle 3 before trying to pair to another device: Press and hold the Bluetooth button for 3 to 5 seconds for the speaker to enter pairing mode, it will disconnect from the current device when entering pairing mode. The blue light will flash indicating the device is disconnected and the OontZ Angle 3 is in pairing mode. You can then pair and connect to the next device.
Note 2. The OontZ Angle 3 will automatically try to pair to the last connected device each time it is turned on and that device is or comes within range. If the OontZ Angle 3 successfully connects to the last device it will prevent any other device from pairing to it, until that current device is disconnected.
Note 3: You can play wirelessly to your speaker up to 33 unobstructed feet away from your device

Wireless Hands-Free Personal Speakerphone

When connected by Bluetooth to a smartphone that supports Hands-Free Profile (HFP) , the OontZ Angle 3 will have Wireless Hands-Free Speakerphone enabled.
To answer an incoming call, press and release the Bluetooth Button (3). To end a call, press and release the button. To reject a call, press and hold down the button for about three seconds.

You can use your smartphone to switch between using Hands-Free Speakerphone and the device.
Note 1: An incoming call will be heard on the OontZ Angle 3 and your voice will be picked up by the inbuilt microphone. Please keep the speaker close in front of you so you may be heard clearly by the listener.
Note 2: The Personal Speakerphone feature is enabled in Bluetooth mode only, this feature does not function when using an AUX IN connection to your phone.
Note 3: For some smartphones the call/phone Bluetooth audio needs to be enabled as well as media audio to use the speaker phone feature.

Connecting to your Non-Bluetooth (AUX-IN) devices

Make sure your OontZ Angle 3 has sufficient charge or connect to a charging source. Plug one end of the included 3.5mm audio cable into the AUX IN Jack (10) on the back of the speaker and plug the other end into the headphone/audio out jack on your audio source.
Note: the Play/Pause Button will serve as a Mute/Un-Mute button in AUX-IN mode

Troubleshooting

  • OontZ Angle 3 will not turn on

    • Make sure the OontZ Angle 3 battery has sufficient charge.

    • Make sure the power button is fully in the on position.

    • If the battery is fully drained, a computer USB may not have sufficient power to charge the OontZ Angle 3.
      Try charging it from a USB wall adapter  for at least 3 hours.

    • The charging indicator light pulsates very slowly, make sure you observe for at least 10 seconds to determine if the battery is fully charged before attempting to play audio

  • Cannot pair the OontZ Angle 3 with my Bluetooth device

    • Your Bluetooth device maybe out of range, try to move closer to your speaker to within 30 unobstructed feet.
    • Make sure the OontZ Angle 3 is not currently connected to any other device. You will need to disconnect the other device from the OontZ Angle.
    • Make sure your device supports Bluetooth audio.
    • Make sure the OontZ Angle 3 is in pairing mode, the blue light should be flashing.
  • OontZ Angle 3 appears on my device, but will not connect

    • Make sure the OontZ Angle 3 is not currently connected to any other device. Disconnect the other device from the OontZ Angle 3. Make sure volume is up on your device and the OontZ Angle 3. Turn the OontZ Angle 3 off then on again.
    • If your device is connected to another Bluetooth accessory, this may interfere with the pairing process, make sure your device is not connected to any other
    • Bluetooth accessory when pairing to the OontZ Angle 3.
  • Paired Bluetooth device will not connect

    • Make sure the OontZ Angle 3 is not currently connected to any other device. Disconnect the other device from the OontZ Angle 3.
    • Turn the OontZ Angle 3 off and back on. Remove the OontZ Angle 3 from the Pairing list on the device, restart the device, and then repair.
  • No audio from a Bluetooth device

    • Make sure the volume is up on your OontZ Angle 3.
    • Make sure your Bluetooth device is playing audio, not paused and volume is up. Your Bluetooth device may be out of range, move closer within 30 unobstructed feet.
    • Turn your OontZ Angle 3 off and back on.
    • Some devices have a default volume when they connect to a new device, try turning up the volume on the speaker and device after connecting.
  • Cannot answer calls

    • Check whether the paired mobile phone supports Bluetooth profile HFP
    • Check whether the Bluetooth wireless connection has been set up between the paired device and the OontZ Angle 3
    • Depending on the type of phone you’re using, make sure phone audio is enabled
  • Poor sound quality from a Bluetooth device, laptop or computer

    • Your Bluetooth device may be out of range, move closer within 30 unobstructed feet.
    • If you’re MacBook, iPad, PC or tablet has an option to select stereo or Mono select Stereo.
    • Try another track or music app.
    • Turn your OontZ Angle 3 off and back on.
    • Some devices need to have their WIFI turned off to improve audio quality over Bluetooth.
    • It may be that you need to re-pair the OontZ Angle 3 with your device. Remove it from your paired devices list, restart the device/computer, and then follow the steps to re-pair the speaker.
  • No Audio from AUX source

    • Make sure the 3.5mm audio cable is fully inserted into the OontZ Angle 3 and Device. Some devices have cases that prevent a proper fit and need to be removed to connect. Make sure your device is on and playing and music
    • Increase the volume level on the OontZ Angle 3 and the device.
  • Poor sound quality from AUX source

    • Make sure the 3.5mm audio cable is fully inserted into the OontZ Angle 3 and device.
    • Reduce the volume level on the AUX source.
    • Remove the charging cable while playing.
  • Music does not resume after hanging up a call

    • Ensure you have paired the OontZ Angle 3 correctly with your Bluetooth device
    • Resume music play on the Bluetooth connected device
  • Windows laptop is asking for drivers

    • The OontZ Angle 3 does not require drivers, and there are none for it.
    • If a message like this or similar is displayed, you need to download the drivers from your vendors support site. After doing so, your system should be restarted then the appropriate steps in the user guide to pair and connect to your computer.
  • OontZ Angle 3 switches off

    • The OontZ Angle 3 has an automatic shut off feature after 15 minutes of no audio being played through it.
    • It will not switch off automatically at any point when plugged in and charging.

Safety & Precautions

  • a. CAUTION: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or equivalent type.
  • b. A warning that batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like.
  • c. Correct Disposal of this product. This marking indicates that this product should not be disposed with other household wastes throughout the EU. To prevent possible harm to the environment or human health from uncontrolled waste disposal, recycle it responsibly to promote the sustainable reuse of material resources. To return your used device, please use the return and collection systems or contact the retailer where the product was purchased. They can take this product for environmental safe recycling.

  7. Do not block any ventilation openings. Install in accordance with the manufacture’s instructions.
  8. Do not install near any heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves, or other apparatus (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
  9. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the polarized or grounding plug. A polarized plug has two blades with one wider than the other. A grounding plug has two blades and a third grounding prong. The wide blade or the third prong is provided for your safety. If the provided plug does not fit into your outlet, consult an electrician for replacement of the obsolete outlet.
  10. Protect the power cord from being walked on or pinched particularly at the plugs, convenience receptacles, and at the point where they exit from the apparatus.
  11. Only use attachments/accessories specified by the manufacturer.
  12. Use only with the cart, stand, tripod, bracket, or table specified by the manufacturer, or sold with the apparatus. When a cart or rack is used, use caution when moving the cart/apparatus combination to avoid injury from tip-over.
  13. Unplug the apparatus during lightning storms or when unused for long periods of time.
  14. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel. Servicing is required when the apparatus has been damaged in any way, such as power supply cord or plug is damaged, liquid has been spilled or objects have fallen into the apparatus has been exposed to rain or moisture, does not operate normally, or has been dropped.
    • This lightning flash with arrowhead symbol within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of non-insulated “dangerous voltage” within the product’s enclosure that may be of sufficient magnitude to constitute a risk of electric shock.
    • The exclamation point within an equilateral triangle is intended to alert the user to the presence of important operating and maintenance instructions in the literature
