Product Information

The Delta TP04G-BL-CU is a model that allows program download/upload through a USB interface and connects to a PLC with the connection cable DVPACAB2A30P. The editing software provides various object icons bitmaps to meet various users’ requirements. The display panel is waterproof, but it is recommended to prevent grease, corrosive liquids, and sharp objects from contacting it. The product package includes fixed supports accessory which should be used while installing. The product has a front panel with a power indicator, alarm indicator, display area, user-defined escape/exit key, left/right key, numeric keys, and enter key. The back panel includes up/down keys, reset key, USB port, and an RS-232 communication port. The product has a safety approval CE only.

Product Usage Instructions

Before using the Delta TP04G-BL-CU model, please read the instruction manual carefully. To connect the product to a PLC, use the connection cable DVPACAB2A30P. When powering on, DO NOT touch any terminal. When powering off, DO NOT touch any internal circuit for at least 1 minute. Use the fixed supports accessory included in the package while installing the product. DO NOT tighten the screws out of the normal torque specifications; otherwise serious damage may occur. The front panel includes a power indicator, alarm indicator, display area, user-defined escape/exit key, left/right key, numeric keys, and enter key. The back panel includes up/down keys, reset key, USB port, and RS-232 communication port. The numeric keys 0~9 are used for numeric input and can be defined as function keys. The F key function can be defined by users. The enter key is used to input a value or accept a programming command. The arrow keys are used to increase or decrease the value, move up or down one page, select the position of the value, and move left or right direction. The product’s LCM display area is used to display the current program status. The product supports asynchronous transmission method: RS-232 Data length: 7 or 8 bits, Stop bits: 1 or 2 bits, Parity: None/Odd/Even Baud rate: 9,600bps~115,200bps RS-232: 9 PIN D-SUB male. The product is featured with a reset key and can monitor the method to download the program to TP through a virtual COM port.

Installation

For normal installation, please insert TP04G-BL-CU to the opening hole on the panel then tighten the screws. If firmer mounting is required, please use the mounting fixed supports and screws in the accessory package which is packed together with TP04G-BL-CU. Insert the hooks of fixed supports into the fixing holes on the back then tighten the screws. Please refer to figure 6 and figure 7 below for this installation. ( The screw torque should be 4.75 (kg-cm). DO NOT exceed this specification when tightening screws, otherwise TP04G-BL-CU may be damaged. If the fixed supports are not installed well, Delta will not guarantee the waterproof rating.)

Notes: Only the front panel is guaranteed by ingress protection rating. The control panel itself must comply with the testing conditions required by the applied ingress protection rating. Do not install and mount TP04G-BL-CU in the following environment

  • A location subjected to Airborne dust, metallic particles, oily smoke, corrosive or flammable gases and liquids.
  • A location where temperature and humidity factors exceed the specifications.

Installing the USB Driver

When users use TP04G-BL-CU for the first time, they have to install an USB driver according to the steps listed below.

  1. Download the latest version of TPEditor form the Delta website, and install the software.
  2. After the USB cable is connected to an USB interface on a computer, TP04G-BL-CU will automatically display a communication transmission screen, and the Found New Hardware Wizard window will be displayed on the computer screen. The users have to select the Install from a list or specific location (Advanced) option button, and click Next.DELTA-TP04G-BL-CU-Text-Panel-Display-fig-7
  3. The users have to select the Include this location in the search checkbox. After they select the USB folder in the folder where TPEditor is saved (the default path is C:\Program Files\Delta Industrial Automation\TPEditor X.X\USB), they can click Next. DELTA-TP04G-BL-CU-Text-Panel-Display-fig-8
  4. After TPEditor is installed, TP *1 and the corresponding port number will appear under the Ports (COM & LPT) section in the Device Manger window. Besides, the same port number will appear in the PC COM Port drop-down list box in the Communication Setting window in TPEditor.
    • 1: If TPEditor version 1.40.1 or below is installed, TP04G-BK-CU will appear under the Ports (COM & LPT) section in the Device Manager window.   5. TP04G-BL-CU can communicate with the computer through this communication port.Besides, the users can upload/download a program by means of TPEditor.
    Note: If choose to use DIAScreen, please follow the instruction to install the software.

Software Configuration

Users can upload or download programs through TPEditor/DIAScreen software program. The options used to determine the settings of TP04G-BL-CU in TPEditor/DIAScreen software program are described as below.

  1. Contrast Setting: Adjust the contrast of LCM display screen.
  2. Backlight Setting: Adjust the automatic turn-off time of LCM. Setting range is 0~99 seconds. If the value is set to 0, the LCM backlight will not turn off.
  3. Enable Buzzer Setting: Set the buzzer mode as Normal mode (Buzzer enabled) or Quiet mode (Buzzer disabled).
  4. Password Setting: Set up password function as Enable/Disable. If the password is enabled, it will require users to input a password before entering any system menu. The default setting is 1234.
  5. Start-up Display: Select the start-up display as TP Default or User Define. If User Define is selected, users can download the user defined start-up display designed by TPEditor/DIAScreen.

Password Function

  1. The password can be numbers from 0 to 9.
  2. If users forgot the password, the password can be cleared by using the following code: 8888. This universal code will clear the password and internal programs. TP04G-BL-CU will also be reset to factory settings by using this code. Please pay close attention when using it.

Communication Connection

  • TP04G-BL-CU may connect to a PC by using USB adaptor cable Please use an AM/BM USB adaptor cable
  • TP04G-BL-CU may connect to a DVP-PLC by using the connection cable DVPACAB2A30P
