GASTEC 136L Methyl Bromide Detector Tube
Product Information: GASTEC No.136L Methyl Bromide Detector Tube
The GASTEC No.136L Methyl Bromide Detector Tube is a gas detection tube designed for the detection of Methyl Bromide in air or industrial areas and determining the environmental atmospheric condition. The tube has an oxidizing layer, a detecting layer, a measuring range of 2.5-10 ppm and 10-100 ppm, and a detecting limit of 0.5 ppm (n=4). The tube has a reaction principle of Br, +CHo-.TSolrid+ini,eOs..+…H, S, O, – Br, Yellow Holoouinone, and a color change from white to yellow. The tube has a shelf life and storage conditions marked on the label of the tube box. The tube requires a Gastec Gas Sampling Pump for proper usage. Using non-Gastec parts or components in Gastec’s detector tube and pump system or using a non-Gastec detector tube with a Gastec pump or using a Gastec detector tube with a non-Gastec pump may damage your detector tube and pump system, or may cause serious injuries, or death to the end-user. It will also void all warranties and guarantees regarding performance and data accuracy.
Product Usage Instructions
- Carefully read the manual of the GASTEC No.136L Methyl Bromide Detector Tube and the instruction manual of your Gastec Gas Sampling Pump for safe operation.
- Use only Gastec detector tubes in a Gastec Pump. Do not interchange or use non-Gastec parts or components in Gastec’s detector tube and pump system.
- When breaking the tube ends, keep away from the eyes. Do not touch the broken glass tubes, pieces, and reagents with bare hands.
- The sampling time represents the time necessary to draw the air sample through the tube. The tube must be positioned in the desired sampling area for the entire sampling time or until the flow finish indicator indicates the end of the sample.
- Use Gastec Gas Sampling Pump together with Gastec Detector Tubes only for the purposes specified in the instruction manual of the detector tube.
- For checking the leakage of the pump, insert a freshly sealed detector tube into the pump and follow the instructions provided in the pump operation manual.
- Break the tips off a fresh primary tube and analyzer tube using the tube tip breaker of the pump towards the pump.
- Attach the tube to the pump and make certain the pump handle is all the way in. Align the guide marks on the pump body.
- Pull the handle all the way out until it locks at one pump stroke (100 ml). Wait 1.5 minutes and confirm the completion of the sampling.
- For smaller measurements of less than 10 ppm, repeat the above sampling procedure three more times. For measurements higher than 100 ppm, prepare a fresh tube and perform a half-pump stroke.
- Read the concentration level at the interface where the stained reagent meets the unstained reagent.
Following these instructions will help maintain the performance and reliability of the test results.
Instructions for No.136L Methyl Bromide Detector Tube FOR
SAFE OPERATION
Carefully read this manual and the instruction manual of your Gastec Gas Sampling Pump.
WARNING:

CORRECTION FOR TEMPERATURE, HUMIDITY, AND PRESSURE :**
- Temperature : No correction is required between O – 40’t: (32 – 104°F).
- Humidity: No correction is required between O – 90% R.H.
- Pressure: To correct for pressure, use the formula below Tube Reading• (ppm) x 1013 (hPa) Atmospheric Pressure (hPa) This value is after other correction(s}, it any, are applied.
MEASUREMENT PROCEDURE
- For checking the leakage of the pump, insert a freshly sealed detector tube into the pump. Follow the instructions provided in the pump operation manual.
- Break the tips off a fresh primary tube and analyzer tube using the tube tip breaker of the pump.
- Connect the © marked ends with rubber tubing after snapping off each end.
- Insert the analyzer tube securely into the pump inlet with the arrow ( G►) on the tube pointing toward the pump.
- Make certain the pump handle is all the way in. Align the guide marks on the pump body.
- Pull the handle all the way out until locks at one pump stroke (100 ml}. Wait 1.5 minutes and confirm the completion of the sampling.
- For smaller measurements of less than 10 ppm, repeat the above sampling procedure three more times. For measurements higher than 100 ppm, prepare a fresh tube and perform a halt pump stroke. Read the concentration level at the interface where the stained reagent meets the unstained reagent.
- If necessary, multiply the readings by the correction factors of pump stroke and atmospheric pressure.
