Firmware Update for Certain Pioneer Audio Receivers
- Pioneer Electronics has released a firmware update for some
- Pioneer In-Dash AV Receivers sold in the United States and Canada.
- The firmware update is available for the following models:
- DMH-W4600NEX
- DMH-WT7600NEX
- DMH-W4660NEX
- DMH-WT76NEX
- DMH-WC5700NEX
- DMH-WT8600NEX
- DMH-WC6600NEX
Installing this firmware update on any other product could cause irreversible
damage.
The firmware update provides usability enhancements and audio quality fixes.
The updated version to download and install depends on the existing firmware
version on your unit.
Product Usage Instructions
Installing the Firmware Update
Before installing the firmware update, check your unit’s current firmware version. Follow the below steps to install the firmware update:
- Download the firmware update file from pioneerelectronics.com/firmware to your computer.
- Transfer the downloaded files to a USB storage device that can be inserted into the Pioneer In-Dash AV Receiver.
- Insert the USB storage device into the Pioneer In-Dash AV Receiver.
- The receiver will automatically recognize the firmware update files and prompt you to start the installation process.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation process. The installation should take approximately 15 minutes.

We would like to inform you of the availability of a firmware update for only
the following Pioneer In-Dash AV Receivers. This firmware update is only for
the following Pioneer receivers sold in the United States and Canada:

Warning: Installation on any other product could cause irreversible
damage.
The updated version to download and install will depend on the existing
firmware version on your unit. Please download the firmware update file
according to your unit’s current version. (Refer to the Firmware Update
Instructions for directions on checking the current version.)

This firmware update provides usability enhancements and audio quality fixes.
In order to perform this update, the following items are needed:
- Pioneer receiver: DMH-W4600NEX, DMH-W4660NEX, DMH-WC5700NEX, DMH-WC6600NEX, DMH-WT7600NEX, DMH-WT76NEX, DMH-WT8600NEX
- Blank USB storage device (no files), 2 GB or larger in capacity, formatted to FAT32
- Instructions on installing the firmware are provided on the same page as the update. Installation of the update should take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
How to obtain the free firmware update:
- Download the firmware update file to a computer from the Pioneer website: pioneerelectronics.com/firmware
- Transfer the files to the USB storage device for insertion into the Pioneer In-Dash AV Receiver.
