Pioneer VSX-LX304 Elite AV Receiver
Product Information
The Elite VSX-LX304 and VSX-LX504 are AV receivers that can be updated with firmware for better performance. The firmware update can be installed via USB or Network. The latest version of the firmware as of 01/12/2022 is R128-0912-1141-0031. The updates released on 10/14/2021, 06/08/2021, 12/22/2020, 10/28/2020, and 03/12/2020 addressed various issues such as improving reception capability in certain TuneIn Radio stations, fixing issues with playback format and login state, enhancing network security, supporting new features and functions, and fixing minor bugs.
Product Usage Instructions
To update the firmware, follow the steps below:
- Download the firmware from the Pioneer website and save it to a USB drive or access it via Network.
- Connect the USB drive to the receiver or access the firmware from the Network.
- Press the “Home Menu” button on the remote control.
- Select “System Setup” and then “Firmware Update”.
- Select “Update via USB” or “Update via Network”, depending on where you saved the firmware.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the firmware update.
Note: Make sure the receiver is connected to a power source and that the USB drive is formatted to FAT32 before initiating the firmware update. Also, refer to the links provided in the product information section for more details on specific updates and features.

The 01/12/2022 update will address the following
- Chromecast built-in version update to 1.52GM2.
- Improve reception capability in certain TuneIn Radio stations.
- Fix the issue that cannot playback Deezer in the condition of the not log-in state.
- Minor bug fixes and improvements in stability.
The 10/14/2021 update will address the following
- The Chromecast built-in version is updated to 1.52.
- Fix the playback format issue converted as AAC format while playing TIDAL’s FLAC audio format.
The 06/08/2021 update will address the following
- Add search function for SONOS device on Web Setup Menu.
- Increase the upper limit of connectable SONOS devices from 8 to 32.
- Fix the issue which the error of when accessing the Web Setup Menu via OvrC HUB.
The 12/22/2020 update will address the following
- Update Chromecast’s built-in version to 1.44.
- Support ALLM “Auto Low Latency Mode”.
- Fix the issue that cannot display the logo of certain TuneIn Radio stations.
- Improve reception capability in certain TuneIn Radio stations.
The 10/28/2020 update will address the following
- Enhance network security.
