Introduction
The 5291 Manual Thermostat features a simple manual temperature dial. The 5291 is designed to be mounted in your electrical box. The red light indicator shows when the heating is operating. The 5291 is floor sensing only.
Installing the thermostat
The DIN-Rail thermostat must be installed to AS/NZS 3000 by a qualified electrician in accordance with local regulations. The 5291 is mounted on a DIN-Rail, if it is to be wall mounted a cover box will be required. In accordance with regulations, the Underfloor Heating should still have an isolating switch in the room.
Connect the thermostat to the Underfloor Heating & power supply as per the
below wiring diagram. Installation should be carried out by a qualified
electrician.
Function
The temperature is set to the required temperature and the heating output is energised/deenergised with a difference of only 0.4°C. LED indication when the relay is energised. The temperature can be set by simply adjusting the dial to the required temperature.
Floor Sensor
The 5291 uses a 12Kohm floor sensor supplied for monitoring the temperature of the floor. The floor sensor needs to be installed in the flexible conduit provided which runs out into the floor and is positioned between two heating cables. If required, the sensor cable can be extended up to 100m with a standard two-core flex cable(the junction point should be able to be accessed).
