Dirty Filters and/or clogged hoses can cause the vacuum to be loud.
Failure to properly maintain the filters could result in damage to the motor.
-
Remove and empty dirt cup
-
Remove pre-motor filter, turn vacuum on and feel for suction at motor duct
- If no suction, visit an Authorized Service Center or contact us
-
Disconnect filter cup from bottom of dirt cup

Filters and separator can be hand washed in warm water with mild dish soap
- Allow to completely air dry (24 – 48 hours) before re-installing in machine
-
Connect filter cup back onto dirt cup
-
Lock dirt cup in place making sure there are no gaps between dirt cup and upper tank
- If not locked properly, the seal will not be secure and cause a loss of suction or blowing dust
-
Turn machine on and place hand over end of hose to check for suction
- If no suction at end of hose, unplug machine, remove hose completely from machine, and push a broomstick through hose to clear any clogs
- Hose needs to be replaced if cracked or damaged
-
Recline handle and insert a broomstick through lower hose to clear any clogs
-
Recline handle to floor, turn machine over
-
Remove brush cover by taking out 5 screws
-
Remove brush & belt
- Inspect belt, brush & brush cover for damage
- If damaged, part should be replaced
-
Turn machine on while brush and belt are removed
- If noise is gone, a new brush will be needed
If all steps have been followed and machine is still excessively loud, visit a BISSELL Authorized Service Center or Contact Us
