Product Information

The IZZY range includes two models, IZ-1202 and IZ-1203, which are hot plates used for cooking. The IZ-1202 model has one hot plate, a temperature knob, and a power/temperature indicator light. The IZ-1203 model has two hot plates, a large plate temperature knob, a small plate temperature knob, and two power/temperature indicator lights. Both models have safety interlocks and require a power supply of 220-240V AC 50/60z. The IZ-1202 model has a power of 1500W and a weight of 18.5 kg. The IZ-1203 model has a power of 2500W, a weight of 15.5 kg for the small plate, and a weight of 18.5 kg for the large plate.

Product Usage

Before using the hotplate(s), make sure the temperature knob is set to 0. Use pans with a flat bottom to ensure full contact with the hot plate for maximum heat efficiency and long-life performance. If using both plates at the same time (for model IZ-1203), turn both temperature knobs to the desired temperature and make sure to prevent cookware handles from protruding over the adjacent hot plate.

Before the First Use

Note: Smoke and odor may occur during first use.

  1. Remove all packing materials.
  2. Turn the temperature knobs to maximum temperature. The power/temperature indicator lights will turn on. Let the hobs burn for about 5 minutes to burn any leftovers from the production.
  3. When the process is complete, turn the temperature knobs to the 0 positions. This procedure is only necessary for the first use.

Care & Cleaning

Do not leave any food or drippings remaining on the plate(s) after cooking. In addition to causing unnecessary smoke, this can reduce the life of the plate(s) and may present a fire hazard.

Safety interlocks

  • Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance and save them for future reference.
  • Please keep the sales receipt for guarantee purposes (pls see below “Guarantee and Customer Service”) Any use which does not conform to the instructions will absolve IZZY from any liability.
  • Before connecting the appliance, check if the voltage indicated on the appliance, corresponds with the mains voltage in your home.
  • Always plug your device into an outlet that is earthed. Failure to comply with this requirement may result in electric shock and possible serious injury.
  • Never leave the appliance unattended when in operation.
  • Close supervision is necessary when your appliance is being used near children. Ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, children or those with lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Disconnect the power cord from the supply mains:

  • Immediately after use
  • When you do not use the appliance
  • Before cleaning and maintenance operations
  • Never use the appliance for any other use than indicated.
  • The device is intended for indoor use. Do not use the device outdoors.
  • The device is intended only for domestic use. Any other use will cancel the warranty.
  • Make sure that the appliance and the plates have cooled down completely before cleaning.
  • Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance. Always use hot pads or oven mittens.
  • Do not use an extension power cord.
  • This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote control system.
  • Check the power cord periodically for possible damages. If the power cord or the plug of the appliance has been damaged, do not use the appliance and contact an authorized BENRUBI Service Center.
  • Make sure that the power cord does not come into contact with the hot parts of the appliance.
  • Always use the appliance on a dry, flat surface, resistant to high temperatures. Particular attention is required on surfaces where the temperature can cause problems. In these cases, it is recommended to use additional heat-resistant surface.
  • Do not operate or place the device or parts in places of high humidity or where it may get wet. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not place the appliance near heat sources, on or next gas or electric hobs or over hot oven.
  • To prevent fire, do not use the appliance near flammable materials such as curtains, fabrics, charcoal etc.
  • Do not place paper, cardboard, plastic and the like on the plate(s).
  • Do not let the power cord of the appliance hang over the edge of a table or bench top or where a child could grab it. Do not let the power cord to touch any hot surface.
  • Never leave the power cable wrapped during use. Unwind it completely.
  • Always remove the plug from the power socket to disconnect. Do not pull the plug out by the cord.
  • To ensure longer life of the appliance, do not let it run for more than 1 hour of continuous operation.
  • CAUTION: The plate(s) gets very hot during use. Handle the appliance very carefully during and after use.
  • Never use highly corrosive or abstractive cleaning agents. Never use metal scouring pads for cleaning.
  • Do not move the appliance when it is in operation.
  • Do not touch the appliance with wet or damp hands.
  • If the appliance does get wet, immediately remove the power cord from the wall outlet and contact one of the authorized BENRUBI service centers.
  • In case of a possible damage, do not attempt to repair the appliance by yourself.
  • Please contact one of the authorized BENRUBI service centers. Any repair made by a non-unauthorized BENRUBI Service Center CANCELS THE GUARANTEE.
  • Any misuse of the device cancels the warranty.
  • The appliance conforms to EU directive 2014/30/EU on Electromagnetic Compatibility, the 2014/35/EU Low Voltage Directive, the 2011/65/EU RoHS Directive, the directive 2009/125/ EC for eco-design.

  2. Turn the adjustable thermostats to the maximum temperature. The power/temperature indicators will light up. Let the hobs burn for about 5 minutes to burn any leftovers from the construction.
  3. When the process is complete, turn the adjustable thermostats to the “0” position.
    This procedure is only necessary for the first use.

Using the Hotplate(s)

Before use, make sure the temperature knob is set to “0”.

  1. Place the device on a stable, dry, heat-resistant and flat surface.
  2. Plug in.
  3. Place the pot with the food on the plate (1).
  4. Turn the temperature knob (2) at the desired temperature (0-MAX). The power indicator/temperature light (3) will turn on.
  5. The power/temperature indicator light (3) will turn off once the thermostat reaches the temperature required.
  6. Once the food starts to boil, turn the temperature knob (2) at a lower temperature and let simmer.
  7. When finished cooking, turn the temperature knob (2) to “0”.
  8. Unplug.
  • Note: Do not use unstable cookware. Use pans with flat bottom to insure full contact with the hot plate for maximum heat efficiency and long-life performance.
  • Note: If you want to use both plates at the same time (for model IZ-1203), follow the above procedure accordingly turning both temperature knobs to the desired temperature.
  • Make sure to prevent cookware handles from protruding over the adjacent hot plate.

Care & Cleaning

  • Do not leave any food or drippings remaining on the plate(s) after cooking. In addition to causing unnecessary smoke, this can reduce the life of the plate(s) and may present a fire hazard.
  • Before cleaning the appliance, ensure that it is disconnected from the outlet and let the body and the plate(s) of your appliance to cool down completely.
  • NEVER immerse the appliance and the electric cord into water or any other liquid.
  • NEVER use chemicals and abrasive detergents.
  • NEVER use metal brushes or other objects that may scratch the surfaces.
  • Keep the appliance and the plate clean using a damp soft cloth.
  • Use washing-up liquid in case of hard stains.
  • Make sure the parts of the device that you clean both are completely dry before reuse or before storage.

Storage

  • Make sure the appliance has cooled down completely and cleaned before storage.
  • Store the device in a dry place without moisture.
  • Never leave the appliance outdoors and exposed to rain.
  • Store the device out of the reach of children.

  • As a reminder of the need to dispose of household devices separately, the product is marked with a crossed-out wheeled dustbin.
