WARNINGS
- Keep this instruction manual for future reference.
- Read these instructions carefully before assembling and installing the product. Do not let anyone use the product unless they have read these instructions.
- WARNING! According to accident statistics, a vehicle’s rear seat is generally safer than the front seat: therefore it is recommended to in-stall the i-Size base and the child car seat on the rear seats.
- WARNING! SERIOUS DANGER! Never use this device fitted on the front vehicle’s seats equipped with a front airbag. It is possible to fit the i-Size base and the child car seat on a front seat only if the front airbag has been deactivated: check with the car manufacturer or see the owner’s manual for instructions on how to deactivate the airbag. It is always recommended to slide the vehicle seat as far back as possible depending on whether passengers are traveling on the back seat or not.
- Make sure that all passengers in the vehicle know how to release the child from the child car seat in case of an emergency.
- When fitting the i-size base and the child car seat into the car pay attention to avoid the vehicle seat from potentially interfering with it.
- No i-Size base and relative child car seat can guarantee your child’s safety in the case of an accident, but using this product reduces the risk of serious injuries or death.
- The risk of serious injuries to the child increases, not only in the case of accidents but also in other circumstances (i.e.: sudden braking, etc.) if these instructions are not followed carefully: always make sure that the i-Size base and the child car seat are correctly fastened to the seat.
- I f the i-Size base and the child car seat are damaged, deformed or very worn, they must be replaced as their original safety features may have been compromised. After an accident (even minor ones) the i-Size base and child car seat can suffer permanent damages, even if not visible to the naked eye. Therefore, they must be replaced.
- This product must not be modified in any way unless the modification has been approved by the manufacturer.
- Do not fit any accessories, spare parts or components not supplied or approved by the manufacturer.
- Never leave the child unattended in the child car seat for any reason.
- Never leave the i-Size base and the child car seat unsecured on the vehicle seat, it may hurt or harm the passengers.
- Never place anything except an approved accessory between the i-Size base and the seat or between the vehicle seat and the child car seat or between the child car seat and the child: in case of an accident, the i-Size base and the car seat may not work properly.
- DO NOT use the product for more than 5 years. After this period, alterations of materials (e.g., due to exposure to sunlight) may reduce or compromise the product’s effectiveness.
- Do not use second-hand devices: they may have been structurally damaged and not visible to the naked eye but still liable to com-promise the safety of the product.
- Check that the safety harness strap is not twisted to avoid the strap or any parts of the child car seat becoming trapped between the car doors, or rubbing against cutting edges. If the safety harness is cut or frayed, it must be replaced.
- It is recommended to cover the child car seat if the vehicle is left exposed to direct sunlight. The seat fabric must only be replaced with another approved by the manufacturer as it forms an integral part of the child car seat. To ensure the safety of the child car seat, never use it without its fabric cover.
- I n the first few months after birth, children may have difficulty breathing in a seated position. Avoid leaving children to sleep in the seat until they can lift their heads themselves.
- Premature babies born before the 37th week of pregnancy can be at risk if placed in a child car seat. These babies might incur breathing problems when sat in a child car seat. We, therefore, recommend you to contact your doctor or the hospital staff, before leaving the hospital. They can recommend the most suitable type of child car seat based on your child’s situation.
- Do not transport loose, unsecured objects or baggage on the back shelf of the vehicle: they may injure the passengers in the case of an accident or sudden breaking.
- Make sure that all car passengers fasten their safety harnesses, for their own safety and because, during the journey, they may harm the child during an accident or sudden braking of the car.
- On long-distance journeys, make frequent stops. Children get tired easily. Never, for any reason, remove your child from the child car seat whilst the car is moving. If your child needs attention, find a safe place and stop.
- Artsana declines all responsibility for any inappropriate use of the product.
