ABOUT THIS MANUAL
The appliance has been manufactured in compliance with the specific European
Standards in force and all the parts potentially dangerous to the user are
protected. Read this manual carefully before use. Use the ap-pliance only for
its intended use to avoid possible injury and damage. Keep this manual handy
for future refer-ence. Should you decide to give this appliance to other
people, remember to include these instructions as well. The information
provided in this manual is marked with the following symbols, which mean:
Danger for children
Warning of burns
Danger due to electricity
Warning — material damage
Danger of damage due to other causes
INTENDED USE
The appliance can be used to crush ice. Do not use foods other than ice cubes.
This appliance shall not be used for commercial and industrial purposes.
Any other use of the appliance is not intended by the Manufacturer, which is
exempt from any liability for damage of any kind, generated by improper use of
the appliance. Improper use also results in voiding any form of warranty.
SAFETY WARNINGS
READ THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USE.
- The appliance has been designed to be used for household purposes or similar, such as: – in cooking areas reserved for shop staff, offices and other professional environ-ments – on farms – hotels, motels, bed & breakfasts and other residential facilities (for use by guests).
- We decline any responsibility for misuse or for any use other than those specified in this manual. Improper use also results in voiding any form of warranty.
- We suggest keeping the original packaging, as free assistance is not provided for failures resulting from inadequate packaging of the product at the time of shipping to an authorized Service Centre.
- In order not to compromise the safety of the appliance, use only original spare parts and accessories authorized by the manufacturer.
- The appliance complies with the Regulation (EC) No. 1935/2004 of 27/10/2004 concerning the materials intended to come into contact with food products.
Danger for children
- The appliance can be used by children over 8 years of age and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, or who lack experience or knowl-edge, only if they are supervised by a responsible person or if they have received and understood the instructions and the existing dangers when using the appli-ance.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and maintenance operations described in this manual shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Always keep the appliance and the power cord out of the reach of children under the age of 8.
- Do not let the power cord hang in a place where it could be grasped by a child.
- Do not leave the packaging near children as it is a potential source of danger.
- If you decide to dispose of this appliance as waste, it is recommended to make it inoperative by cutting the power cord. It is also recommended to make harmless the parts of the appliance which could constitute a danger, especially for children who could use the appliance as a game.
Danger due to electricity
- Before connecting the appliance to the power supply, check that the voltage shown on the rating plate under the appliance matches the local voltage supply.
- The use of extension cords not authorized by the manufacturer can lead to dam-ages and accidents.
- Always connect the appliance to an earthed socket.
- Do not connect any other high-power equipment (such as stoves, irons, radia-tors) to the same power outlet. Danger of electric overload.
- Never pull the power cord or the appliance to disconnect the plug from the power outlet.
- Never put live parts in contact with water: this might cause a short circuit!
- Do not leave the power cord against sharp parts or sharp edges.
- Cleaning and maintenance operations shall be carried out when the appliance is off and unplugged from the power outlet.
- Do not immerse the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Do not use the appliance if your hands are wet or if you are barefoot.
- If the appliance is left unused, also for a short period of time, turn it off and always unplug the power cord from the power outlet.
- Do not leave the appliance unattended while connected to the power supply.
Warning – material damage
- Place the appliance on a stable and dry surface.
- Do not place the appliance on very hot surfaces or near open flames to prevent the coating from being damaged.
- Do not place the appliance near inflammable materials (such as fabrics, cur-tains).
- The power cord shall not touch hot surfaces.
- Fully unwind the power cord before use.
- The appliance must not be power supplied by external timers or separate re-mote-controlled systems.
- Do not use the appliance outdoors.
- Do not leave the appliance exposed to weathering (such as rain or sun).
- After unplugging the appliance, only clean the appliance using a damp, non-abra-sive cloth and a few drops of mild, non-aggressive detergent.
- Never use solvents that damage plastic parts.
- Do not exceed the maximum level shown on the ice container.
- Do not operate the appliance empty.
- To avoid damaging the appliance, do not place metal tools or objects into the ice container. Always keep kitchen utensils away from blades and moving parts.
- Do not use the appliance if the blades are damaged.
- Before putting the appliance into operation, check that the ice container and the blades are clean and free from foreign objects.
- Do not operate the appliance for more than 5 minutes consecutively. Wait for the motor to cool down before using the appliance again.
Danger of damage due to other causes

Always unplug the appliance from the power supply and wait for the blades to stop completely before inserting or removing individual components.

Always keep your hands away from blades and moving parts.

The blades inside the ice container are very sharp. Pay close attention when installing and removing the components, as well as while cleaning the blades.

In order to lift the appliance, hold it by the body.

Place the appliance in an environment that is sufficiently lit, clean and where the power outlet is easily accessible.

The appliance shall be used and left at rest on a stable surface.

The appliance shall not be used if it has been dropped or if there are visible signs of damage. Do not use the appliance if the power cord or the plug are damaged, or if the appliance is faulty. All repairs, including the power cord replacement, shall be carried out only by an Ariete Service Centre or by Ariete authorized tech-nicians, in order to prevent any risk.

plate under the base of the appli-ance:

- power supply voltage [V] and frequency [Hz]
- electrical power consumption [W]
- assistance toll-free phone number
In any requests to authorized Service Centres, specify model and serial number.
BEFORE USE
Remove the packing material and check that all components are present Place
the appliance on a flat and stable surface. Wash the lid (A), the lock nut (B)
and the ice container (C) in soapy water. Dry well.
Warning! Before assembling, make sure the appliance is turned off and
unplugged from the power outlet.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Warning! The blades inside the ice container are very sharp. Pay dose attention when installing and removing the components, as well as while cleaning the blades. Always keep your hands away from blades and moving parts.

Insert the ice container (C) into its seat (Fig. 2).

Place the lock nut (B) into the seat on the ice container (C) (Fig. 3).

Turn the lock nut (B) clockwise to fasten the ice container (C) (Fig. 4).

Insert ice to be crushed into the ice container (C) (Fig. 5).
NEVER exceed the MAX level when filling the ice container. -
Place a glass on the support base (D) (Fig. 6).
If you are using paper cups, place them into a heavier cup first.
Warning! Before turning the appliance on, make sure the components are correctly installed. -
Plug the appliance into the power outlet (Fig. 7).

Place the lid (A) on the ice container (C) (Fig. 8). Align the tab on the lid with the seat on the body of the appliance (F) (Fig. 9).

Turn the lid (A) counter-clockwise (Fig. 10). The tab on the lid fits into the specific seat and starts the motor rotation. The rotation of the ice container starts and the crushed ice is dispensed into the glass.
When using the appliance for the first time, you may notice the release of a slight smell and a little smoke: this is to be considered perfectly normal because some parts have been slightly lubricated. The event will stop occurring after a short time. The appliance may generate noise during operation: this is to be considered perfectly normal.
Warning! Do not operate the appliance for more than 5 minutes consecutively. Wait for the motor to cool down before using the appliance again. -
To stop the ice container rotation, turn the lid (A) clockwise (Fig. 10). The tab on the lid is removed from the specific seat and stops the motor rotation.

Disconnect the power cord from the power outlet.
– After each use, remove any residue from the ice container.
USEFUL TIPS FOR OPTIMAL OPERATION
Prefer using cubed ice rather than rounded-shaped ice. In case of excessive motor effort, try to leave the ice at room temperature for a few minutes before starting the appliance.
CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
Regular and daily cleaning maintains the appliance efficient and extends the
life of the appliance.
Warning! Cleaning and maintenance operations shall be carried out when the
appliance is off and unplugged from the power outlet.
Warning! Never wash the appliance components in the dishwasher. Do not
use direct jets of water. Do not use abrasive cleansers or metal tools in
order not to scratch and damage external surfaces.
– Remove the lid (A), the lock nut (B) and the ice container (C) from the body
of the appliance (F).
– Clean the body of the appliance (F) and the support base (D) using a damp,
non-abrasive cloth to avoid damaging the coating. Cleaning the components

DECOMMISSIONING
In the event of the appliance decommissioning, disconnect the power plug from the power outlet. Should the appliance be disposed of, separate the various materials used in the construction of the appliance and dispose of them according to their composition and the legal provisions in force in the country of use.
