MADS INSTALLATION

The MRDS’ mounting base uses the Trijicon” RMR” standard footprint. PISTOL APPLICATIDN

  1. While following all basic rules of firearms safety, first ensure the pistol is unloaded by removing the magazine and confirming the chamber is empty.
  2. Once confirmed that the pistol is unloaded, proceed to field strip the pistol per the manufacturer’s disassembly procedure. You will be working with just the pistol’s slide.
  3. If applicable, remove the slide’s cover plate to gain access to the slide’s optic interface.
  4. Place the MRDS onto the slide ensuring all screw holes are aligned and the MRDS is seated flush.
  5. A pair of #6-32 and #4-40 Torx screws are included with the MRDS and are commonly used for most mounts, optics-ready pistol systems, and aftermarket milled slides. Recommended torque value is 15in-lbs. No additional thread locking compound is required as it has already been pre-applied to the screws.
  6. Note that some optics-ready pistol platforms come included with specific screws and or adaptor plates that may be required and or are better suited for installing the MRDS. It is important to read the manufacturer’s procedures in addition to ours.
  7. We still recommend a torque value of 15in-lbs. and additional thread locking compound if not already pre-applied.
  8. Reassemble the pistol per the manufacturer’s reassembly procedure.
  9. While following all basic rules of firearm safety, function check the pistol.

GENERAL MOUNT APPLICATION

  1. Place the MRDS onto the mount ensuring all screw holes are aligned and the MRDS is seated flush.
    •  Note that some RMR® Mounts come included with specific screws and or adaptor plates that may be required and or are better suited for installing the MRDS. It is important to read the manufacturer’s procedures in addition to ours.
    • We still recommend a torque value of 15in-lbs. and additional thread locking compound if not already pre-applied.

ZEROING THE MRDS

The MRDS comes out of the box mechanically centered with a flathead adjustment tool provided.

  • Windage Adjustment

    • To move the Point of Impact [PDII to the right, turn the windage adjustment screw located on the right hand side of the MRDS counterclockwise.
    • To move the PDI to the left, turn the windage adjustment screw clockwise.
  • Elevation Adjustment

    • To move the PDI up, turn the elevation adjustment screw located on the top rear of the MRDS counterclockwise.
    • To move the PDI down, turn the elevation adjustment screw clockwise.
    • The MRDS is zeroed when the point of impact [PDII overlaps the point of aim [PDAJ at your specified target distance confirmed through live-fire.

TRDUBLE-SHOOTING

  • No Dot: Confirm battery is installed correctly with its + side facing up. Confirm battery has power or is new. Confirm battery is CR1632. Confirm that there is no dust or debris blocking the LED.
  • Not holding zero: Confirm optic is properly mounted with RMR® footprint and with 15in-lbs of torque. Make sure to use the correctly threaded screws recommended for your mounting platform while also keeping the length of the screws in mind. Screws that are too short or too long for your mounting platform may cause zeroing issues.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

  • Maintain the finish of the MRDS by removing any dirt or sand with a clean soft cloth or Q-tip.
  • Wipe the lens and emitter lens with a clean soft cloth or Q-tip to keep it clean and dry. Do not touch the lens with fingers or finger nails to clean the lenses.
  • Store the MRDS in a cool and dry place when not in use. Avoid contact with acid, alkaline, or corrosive chemicals. Remove battery if being stored for an extended period of time.
  • Do not attempt to lubricate any part of the MRDS.
  • Do not disassemble the MRDS. Any such action will void the warranty.
Caution: Viewing the sun can cause serious eye injury. Never look directly into the sun with this or any DP3 Micro.
