ARWEN, FORERUNNER
SUPER SLIM SD RAIL SYSTEM
With the bolt carrier group (BCG) fully forward, remove the upper receiver
from the lower receiver by pushing out the two lower receiver takedown pins.
Remove the BCG and charging handle from the upper receiver. Remove the stock
handguard, muzzle device, gas block and tube, and barrel nut. Retain the gas
block (if is a low profile gas block as it can be reused), gas tube, and
muzzle device as they will be reinstalled later. A low-profile gas block is
required to complete installation. With the barrel inserted into the upper
receiver, hand-tighten the barrel nut onto the upper receiver’s barrel nut
threads.
Test for handguard alignment by carefully sliding the handguard over the
barrel nut ensuring that you can see the barrel nut’s channel centered within
the hole cut out in the handguard.
Once proper alignment is achieved, carefully remove the handguard.
FOR ARWEN AND FORERUNNER FREE FLOAT HANDGUARDS: Using the included barrel
nut wrench adaptor attached to a proper torque wrench, place the barrel nut
wrench onto the flats of the barrel nut. Carefully torque the barrel nut to 35
ft-lb.
FOR SUPER SLIM SD HANDGUARDS: Note the location of the barrel nut’s gas
tube channel that is nearest in alignment with the upper receiver’s gas tube
cutout. Determine whether using the included shim(s) is necessary to achieve
proper alignment knowing the barrel nut needs to be torqued to 35 ft-lb.
Should a shim be required, remove the barrel nut, place the shim against the
barrel extension shoulder, and then reinstall the barrel nut. Using the
included barrel nut wrench adaptor attached to a proper torque wrench, place
the barrel nut wrench onto the flats of the barrel nut. Carefully torque the
barrel nut to 35 ft-lb.
Reinstall the low-profile gas block, gas tube, and muzzle device.
FOR SUPER SLIM SD HANDGUARDS: Depending on the barrel and suppressor
length, muzzle device, and suppressor attachment method installing the
suppressor at this time may be required.
Carefully slide the handguard back on until it meets the receiver and tighten
the two handguard screws. Recommended torque value is 25 in-lb. Do not
overtighten.
Reinstall the charging handle and bolt carrier into the upper receiver and
then the upper back onto the lower receiver. Function check firearm.
ATTACHING M-LOK® PICATINNY RAIL SECTION AND CID SLING SWIVEL ADAPTOR
In order to properly secure a rail section or other M-LOK® accessory on your rail system, the T-Nut gap must be slightly larger than the rail thickness. Either measure the rail thickness or use the edge of the rail as a gauge.
If the T-Nuts are spaced with too much gap they will rotate freely when trying
to tighten. Alternately, if the T-Nuts are not spaced with enough gap they
will not rotate at all. Observe the T-Nut during the installation process to
be certain that they have rotated to their correct position as shown.
Caution: Other accessories (e.g. polymer product) may require different
torque values for installation. Refer to the manufacturer s instructions for a
correct specification.
Position the T-Nuts as shown above and place the rail section/QD sling swivel adaptor into the M-LOK slot(s). Make sure the rail section/QD sling swivel adaptor seats evenly.
Using the correctly supplied Hex wrench, insert the wrench into the rail section/QD sling swivel adaptor screws and rotate clockwise. Recommended torque value: 30 in-lb.
