Product Information

The Compact Wired Remote Controller (model name: RBC-ASC11E RBC-ASC11E-TR) is a wall-mounted remote control for air conditioning units. It comes with an installation manual and all necessary components for installation, including screws, cable connections, and plastic bolts.
The remote control features a LCD display with adjustable backlighting, temperature control settings, and an on/off button. It also has a DIP switch to set the remote control as the main or secondary controller in a dual- controller system.

Installation Requirements

The remote control should be installed in a location that is easily accessible and has at least 30mm of space around it. The installation should be done by a qualified technician and the power supply should be turned off before installation.
A black cable with a cross-sectional area of up to 1.5mm2 should be used for wiring.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Install the remote control on the wall using the screws and plastic bolts provided. Refer to the installation manual for detailed instructions.
  2. Adjust the backlighting of the LCD display by turning on/off DIP switch 2.
  3. Set the temperature control accuracy by adjusting DIP switch 3.
  4. Set the remote control as the main or secondary controller by adjusting DIP switch 1 in a dual-controller system.
  5. Use the on/off button to turn the air conditioning unit on or off.

Note : For dual-controller systems, one controller must be set as the main controller and the other as the secondary controller. Refer to the installation manual for detailed instructions.

Read the manual before using the remote controller.
Refer to the Installation Manual supplied with the indoor unit for any installation instruction other than operations of the remote controller.

The requirements Installation location of remote control

Installing the remote control

  • Insert a tool such as a flat-head screwdriver into the recess on the bottom of the remote control body, and then forcefully open and remove the back cover.
  • Cut the attached plastic studs to the desired length to fill the clearance between the remote control back cover and the main body stud. Then the rear cover is to be fastened to the basic housing with the M4 screws provided using the threaded bolts.
    • Notice 1: do not overtighten the screws. Otherwise, deformation of the basic housing can result.
    • Notice 2: the filling with threaded bolts should be done in such a way that the height of the back cover is uniform to avoid deformation.
  • Connect the (2-wire) cable of the remote control to the cable of the main unit of the remote control. It is necessary to pay attention to the number of each terminal of the indoor unit to ensure the correct connection of the remote control cables. (AC 220 V may damage the remote control.)
  • Hook the base unit of the remote control to the back cover and snap it into place.
    • Note 3 : A free space of at least 30 mm around the remote control must be observed

DIP switch setting

Main / sub remote control: 1

  • Set main/sub remote control with DIP switch 1.
  • When using the remote control as a sub remote control, slide the switch to the ON position. If the remote control is to be used as the main remote control, slide the switch to the OFF position.

Turn off the LCD backlight: 2
The LCD backlight can be switched off with DIP switch 2. The backlight is off when the switch is on. The backlight is on when the switch is off.

Temperature setting with 1ºC as accuracy: 3

  • DIP switch 3 can be used to adjust the display accuracy of the temperature setting.
  • The accuracy is 1ºC with the switch on and 0.5ºC with the switch off.

Temperature sensor Remote control: 4

With DIP switch 4, the Remote control temperature sensor set. If the temperature sensor of the be activated remote control is the Slide the switch to the ON position.
Should the temperature sensor of the indoor unit activated, the switch is in the OFF position to push position.

Power button setting: 5

  • With the DIP switch 5 the operation the on/off button to a “long press” (approx. more than 4 seconds) can be switched.
  • When the switch is on, “long Press” active. When the switch is off “normal (short press)” becomes active.

Settings for application control of the indoor unit: 6

  • With the DIP switch, the Settings for application control of the Activate indoor unit.

Installation requirements from multiple remote controls In the dual remote control system, an indoor unit or multiple indoor units several remote controls can be operated.

Installation

With the dual remote control system, Install the remote control as follows.

  1. One of the remote controls as Set main remote control. (the Default is “Main Remote control”.)

Switching over the temperature sensor

  • In the remote controller and the indoor unit are each temperature sensor integrated. Both Sensors cannot work at the same time.

  • The temperature sensor comes as standard used in the indoor unit.

For multi-connected air conditioners, address setting cannot be completed just by turning on the power (“Setting” stays on). To complete the address setting, operation on the outdoor interface board is required. When setting, operation of the remote control is not possible. The setting can take a maximum of 10 minutes

Settings for the test run of the remote control

  1. Press the On/Off button to stop the air conditioner.

  2. Press and hold the “TIMER OFF” button and the “Δ” adjustment button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. “TEST” appears on the LCD display. The test mode is now activated.

  3. The test run is to be performed in cooling or heating mode.

  4. During the test run, “TEST” appears on the LCD screen.

  5. Temperature setting is not possible while “TEST” is displayed.

  6. During the test run, the machine is heavily loaded; therefore it is recommended to only carry out the test run in justified cases.
    Note 1: After power on, the outdoor unit will not work for about 3 minutes. Otherwise the operation is stopped.

  7. After completing the test run, press the “TIMER OFF” button again to ensure that “TEST” on the LCD screen goes off. (The remote control has a 60-minute power-off delay function to avoid long-term test run.)
