Power on/off
Hold the Power/Lock button to turn on the M15S. On its first startup, tap the preferred language onscreen to enter the main U1. Hold the Power/Lock button while the M15S is on and a shutdown dialogue will pop up. You can select to turn off or reboot the player.
Charging
The M15S supports fast charging. To achieve the designed charging time, it is recommended to use a USB power source of QC 3.0 or one that supports PD protocol.
Gestures
- Return to previous menu: swipe right from the left edge of the screen, or swipe left from the right edge.
- Return to home menu: swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen
- Multitask managing: swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and then hold
Working modes switch
The M155 has five working modes: Android mode, Pure Music mode, USB DAC mode, Bluetooth Receiving mode and AirPlay mode. The M15S will default to enter Android mode when it powers on for the first time. You can switch to other working modes on the drop-down or Settings menu.

Android mode/Pure Music mode
You would need to install the MTP driver before connecting the M15S to the computer for data transfer. Please download the MTP driver on our website and follow relevant instructions to install it. -
USB DAC mode:
When switching to the USB DAC mode for the first time, please download the USB DAC driver on our website and follow relevant instructions to install it. -
Bluetooth Receiving mode:
When switching to the Bluetooth Receiving mode for the first time, the M15S will automatically enter the pairing state. The next time it enters Bluetooth Receiving mode, it will reconnect to the last connected device automatically.- Force the device to enter pairing mode: Hold the Play/ Pause button for about 3 seconds.
- Manually enter reconnecting mode: Short press the Play/ Pause button when not in pairing mode.
- Clear current pairing: Hold the Previous and Next track buttons at the same time for about 3 seconds.
- Play/Pause: Short press the Play/Pause button.
- Previous/Next track: Short press the Previous/Next track button.

Air Play mode
When working in Air Play mode, the M15S requires a valid WiFi connection.
Please confirm that it is connected to an available network before entering
the AirPlay mode.
Note: The MTP driver for the MAC System and the USB DAC driver for the
Windows system can be found in the Fiio Driver disk when connecting the M15S
to a computer. Or, you can download the corresponding driver at
http://www.fiio.com/Driver_Download.
HOLD switch
When the HOLD Switch is turned on, all buttons on the side of the M15S will be
locked to prevent unintended touches as default (You can choose the button
that will still be available on the settings menu beforehand). When the HOLD
switch is turned off, all buttons will be available. Enhanced over-ear
headphone mode When a fast-charging power adapter is inserted in the M155 and
is detected, an “Enhanced over-ear headphone mode” will show up on the GAIN
settings menu. Meanwhile, a dialogue prompt of “Switch to Enhanced over-ear
headphone mode?” will pop up, and you can decide whether to switch it based on
your needs.
Firmware upgrade

Over-the-air (OTA) automatic upgrade
Turn on the WiFi function on the M15S and connect it to an available network. It will automatically detect if there is a new firmware. If no firmware is detected, please tap “Technical Support-> Firmware Update->Online Upgrade” to check and upgrade the firmware manually. -
Upgrade through a microSD card
Please download the firmware on our website and follow relevant instructions
to upgrade it.

Notes and Precautions
- Please do not repair or disassemble the product on your own and do not put it in water.
- Please charge the battery on a regular basis to secure the battery life if this product has not been used for a long time.
- Please do not use the battery after it was soaked in water; do not use the battery if it is severely swollen; do not disassemble, bump and squeeze the battery, or drop it into fire.
- It is recommended to use a suitable charger in case of a high-voltage adaptor causing damage to the device.
- In the likely event that the M15S hangs up, you may hold the Power/Lock button for over 10 seconds to force a reboot.

Master Quality Authenticated
The M15S includes MQA technology, which enables you to play back MQA audio
files and streams, delivering the sound of the original master recording. The
M15S Now Playing screen shows green or blue dot next to MQA logo to indicate
that the unit is decoding and playing an MQA stream or file, and denotes
provenance to ensure that the sound is identical to that of the source
material. It shows blue dot to indicate it is playing an MQA Studio file,
which has either been approved in the studio by the artist/producer or has
been verified by the copyright owner.
