Product Information

The Gotham Architectural Downlighting is a lighting fixture designed for indoor use. It is intended to provide general illumination in commercial and residential spaces. The fixture is available in different models, with various sizes, shapes, and fixture types. It comes with different mounting options for easy installation and maintenance.

The fixture operates on a specified voltage, which should be verified before installation. It is designed to work with compatible drivers, and the maximum wattage should not be exceeded. The fixture is equipped with LED light sources that require cooling to prevent overheating and damage. It comes with warning labels for safety and usage instructions to ensure optimal performance.

Product Usage Instructions

Before installing, servicing, or performing maintenance on the fixture, disconnect or turn off the power to prevent electric shock. Wear gloves and safety glasses at all times during handling to avoid injury. Make sure to avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.

Verify that the supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information. All electrical and grounded connections should be made in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local code requirements. Wiring connections should be capped with UL approved recognized wire connectors.

To prevent burn risks, allow the lamp/fixture to cool before handling. Do not touch the enclosure or light source, and do not exceed the maximum wattage marked on the luminaire label. Follow all manufacturer’s warnings, recommendations, and restrictions for driver type, burning position, mounting locations/methods, replacement, and recycling.

To prevent fire risks, keep combustible and other materials that can burn away from the lamp/lens. Do not operate in close proximity to persons, combustible materials, or substances affected by heat or drying. Avoid covering LED fixtures with insulation, foam, or other material that will prevent convection or conduction cooling. Only use the fixture in its intended location.

LED products are Polarity Sensitive. Ensure proper Polarity before installation. Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) can damage LED fixtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installation or servicing of the unit. Do not touch individual electrical components as this can cause ESD, shorten lamp life, or alter performance. Some components inside the fixture may not be serviceable. In case of service requirement, contact an ABL representative for assistance. Always read the fixture’s complete installation instructions prior to installation for any additional fixture-specific instructions.

Regular maintenance programs are recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety. In case of any further information or particular problems that are not covered sufficiently in the user manual, refer to Acuity Brands Lighting, Inc.
