Product Information
The product is a LED luminaire, designed for indoor or outdoor lighting. It
has a photocontrol receptacle when specified. The
luminaire should be installed and serviced by a licensed electrician who
follows all safety codes and requirements. The
luminaire should not be operated in close proximity to combustible materials
or substances affected by heat or drying. The maximum wattage marked on the
luminaire label should not be exceeded. The product carries a warranty, and
failure to follow the instructions could void the warranty. The installation
manual should be delivered to the owner after installation.
Product Usage Instructions
- Disconnect or turn off power before installation or servicing.
- Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information.
- Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local code requirements.
- All wiring connections should be capped with UL approved recognized wire connectors.
- Wear gloves and safety glasses at all times when removing luminaire from carton, installing, servicing or performing maintenance.
- Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.
- Allow lamp/fixture to cool before handling. Do not touch enclosure or light source.
- Do not exceed maximum wattage marked on luminaire label.
- Follow all manufacturer’s warnings, recommendations and restrictions for: driver type, burning position, mounting locations/methods, replacement and recycling.
- Never connect components under load.
- Do not mount or support these fixtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insulation.
- Deliver the installation manual to the owner after installation.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND DELIVER TO OWNER AFTER INSTALLATION
- To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions, and other hazards please read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fixture box and all fixture labels.
- Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions.
- Installation and service of luminaires should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
- Maintenance of the luminaires should be performed by person(s) familiar with the luminaires’ construction and operation and any hazards involved. Regular fixture maintenance programs are recommended.
- It will occasionally be necessary to clean the outside of the refractor/lens. Frequency of cleaning will depend on ambient dirt level and minimum light output which is acceptable to user. Refractor/lens should be washed in a solution of warm water and any mild, non-abrasive household detergent, rinsed with clean water and wiped dry. Should optical assembly become dirty on the inside, wipe refractor/lens and clean in above manner, replacing damaged gaskets as necessary.
- DO NOT INSTALL DAMAGED PRODUCT! This luminaire has been properly packed so that no parts should have been damaged during transit. Inspect to confirm. Any part damaged or broken during or after assembly should be replaced.

- Never connect components under load.
- Do not mount or support these fixtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insulation.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Never connect an LED product directly to a dimmer packs, occupancy sensors, timing devices, or other related control devices. LED fixtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not restrict fixture ventilation. Allow for some volume of airspace around fixture. Avoid covering LED fixtures with insulation, foam, or other material that will prevent convection or conduction cooling.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not exceed fixtures maximum ambient temperature.
- Only use fixture in its intended location.
- LED products are Polarity Sensitive. Ensure proper Polarity before installation.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): ESD can damage LED fixtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installation or servicing of the unit.
- Do not touch individual electrical components as this can cause ESD, shorten lamp life, or alter performance.
- Some components inside the fixture may not be serviceable. In the unlikely event your unit may require service, stop using the unit immediately and contact an ABL representative for assistance.
- Always read the fixtures complete installation instructions prior to installation for any additional fixture specific warnings.

INTRODUCTION
Product Description
- The GlasWerks II luminaire consists of an optical assembly designed to accommodate either a symmetric or asymmetric distribution with flat glass.
- A hinged and latched cover allows tool-less electrical access.
- An Arm Mount version is available which allows for direct mounting to a horizontal mounting arm
- The Pendant Mount version uses a 1-1/2 NPT threaded entry to provide a weather resistant method of mounting.
- A Stem mount version allows fast installation to a special fitter that has a mating feature/ door combination.
- The fixture includes a plug-in electrical module that contains the photocontrol receptacle when specified.

Fixture Installation
Remove the cover by unlatching and lifting the electrical assembly off hinge hook, see Figure 1. Unplug the Terminal Block connector, see Figure 1. If supplied with ROAM dimming option, disconnect roam connector, see Figure 5.
Remove the wire chamber cover by loosening the two mounting screws. Rotate the wire chamber cover to allow the screw heads to pass through the larger portion of the keyhole slots.

Stem Mount: (Fig 2) Refer to Installation Manual provided with the swivel fitter (IM-347) Attach the luminaire to the fitter by removing fitter door and inserting stem of luminaire into the fitter. Use care not to damage the electrical supply wires during attachment of the luminaire. Feed the electrical supply wires through the center of the stem grommet and make final connection per section 2.2.4. Replace the fitter door by engaging the lip of the door inside the fitter. Tighten the door screws to 5-6 Ft-lbs. Tighten the nuts on the U-bolts to 30-40 Ft-lbs. Allow luminaire to self-level and tighten the set screws to 12-15 Ft-lbs. If necessary, adjust the leveling set screws so that the fitter is installed level.

Pendant Mount: This unit must be mounted to a 1-1/2 NPT male threaded pendant. Verify that the set screw, located in the mounting assembly, is backed out enough that it will not interfere with the mounting threads. See Figure 1. Thoroughly inspect threads for damage. DO NOT attempt to assemble with another part if any thread damage is found on either part. Apply pipe thread sealant completely around the first 4 male threads on the mounting pendant. Force the sealant into the threads, see Figure 3. Thread the mounting assembly onto the pipe threads. Tighten by hand at least 5 full turns to ensure the end of the conduit goes past the setscrew hole.
CAUTION
FIELD APPLICATION OF PIPE THREAD SEALANT IS REQUIRED. FAILURE TO PROPERLY APPLY PIPE THREAD SEALANT COULD CAUSE THIS UNIT TO LEAK OR INADEQUENT THREAD ENGAGEMENT. PIPE THREAD SEALANT MUST BE APPLIED TO MALE THREAD ASSEMBLY TO ASSURE PROPER INSTALLATION

Arm Mount: Feed electrical supply wires through the fitter and into electrical housing. Slip the fitter over the support arm being certain that the end of the arm seats fully into the fitter. Tighten the nuts on the U-bolts to 30-40 FT. LBS. If necessary, adjust the leveling set screws so that the cover fitter is installed level. See Figure 4.

Pull the electrical wires into the mounting cover compartment. 2.2.4 Connect the electrical supply wires to the terminal block at the top of the mounting cover. The terminals are marked “L1” (Line 1), “G” (Ground), and “L2” (Line 2). If one of the supply lines is electrically neutral, it should be connected to terminal “L2”.

Reinstall the wire chamber cover. Place the wire chamber cover over the mounting screws and rotate slightly to allow the screw heads to seat over the smaller portion of the keyhole slot. Tighten the screws.

Units supplied with a photocontrol receptacle require a shorting plug or a twist lock photo control to be installed. Install the device by twisting it clockwise, See Figure 1.
CAUTION
A PHOTO CONTROL THAT MEETS THE REQUIREMENTS OF ANSI C136.10 AND WITH A CLEAR WINDOW ON THE SIDE THAT EXPOSES THE PHOTOCELL MUST BE USED. -
Reinstall the electrical assembly. Reconnect terminal block connector and latch mounting cover to the electrical assembly. If supplied with ROAM dimming option, reconnect the ROAM connector.

Pendant Rigid Mount: Continue tightening the mounting cover until “STREET SIDE” of luminaire is pointed in the proper direction, see Figure 6. Tighten the setscrew provided at the top entry to 40-50 in lbs.

MAINTENANCE
Cleaning
-
Wipe off exterior dirt and debris with a dry cloth. If the glass needs to be washed, use water and detergent.
CAUTION
DO NOT USE ABRASIVE CLEANSERS ON OPTICAL SURFACES. THEIR USE MAY RESULT IN THE LOSS OF OPTICAL EFFICIENCY. -
Electrical Component Replacement.
-
Disconnect power to the unit prior to opening and performing any maintenance
-
Unlatch Cover from the electrical assembly and let swing down.
-
Unplug the terminal plug connector, see Figure 1.
-
Photocontrol Replacement, see Figure 1.
The photocontrol is removed by twisting it counterclockwise. Replace with Holophane approved photocontrol. If no other components are to be replaced go to Section 3.2.9. -
Surge Protector Replacement, see Figure 1.
Disconnect surge protector via wiring quick disconnect. Remove screw securing surge protector and retain. Carefully remove the surge protector and install Holophane approved surge protector in the same orientation with original screw. -
LED Driver, Electrical Module Replacement or Dimming Control Replacement. See Figure 1.
Remove electrical module by loosening two retaining screws. Slide electrical module around screw heads using keyholes. Lift electrical module and disconnect optical connector. To replace individual electrical components, tag all leads that will be disconnected and note orientation and position of all components that will be replaced and fasteners holding them. Remove the components to be replaced and replace with Holophane supplied electrical components. Position the new component exactly as the old. Secure with the original hardware and tighten all fasteners securely. Reconnect wiring per earlier applied tags and according to industry accepted wiring techniques. Bundle and secure wires as before ensuring no pinched wires. -
Reconnect the electrical assembly connector to the terminal block connector and latch mounting cover to the electrical assembly.

Electrically energize the fixture and check for proper operation.

Field Adjustable Output Module
The Field Adjustable Output (AO) module is an onboard device that adjusts the
light output and input wattage to meet site specific requirements, allowing a
single fixture configuration to be flexibly applied in many different
applications. The AO option is available on the GBLF2, GPLF2, GNLF2, GELF2 and
GSLF2 series. The following data is for the AS and AH voltage options.
