TUNZE 6580 Turbelle Master Stream
General aspects
Turbelle® masterstream are high-performance propeller pumps for zoos, research
institutes, rehabilitation clinics or fish farming centers. All parts of the
pumps are 100 percent resistant to corrosion and are made of styrene-
acrylonitrile (SAN) resin and polyoxymethylenes (POM) plastic; the motor axle
is made of titanium alloy; the motor and the electronics are cast in
polyurethane (PU) resin. The innovative microprocessor-controlled permanent
magnet motor has been fitted with an electronic speed control operating on
safety extra-low voltage of 12 V to 24 V. The pumps are ideal for water
circulation, wave action or wave-and-tide simulations. The pump housing serves
as a gigantic intake strainer; thus the pumps do not require an additional
intake strainer. The integrated mounting brackets permit an attachment of the
PVC pipe/rod, diam. 32 mm (1.25 in.), or Magnet Holder 6508.500 (optional).
Notes on the flow rate performance
For propeller pumps with high performance and relatively low water pressure,
it is usually difficult to accurately measure the flow rate performance.
The performance of all our Turbelle® pumps is extensively measured and tested
with ultrasonic methods (2) and a mechanical flowmeter (1). To avoid flow rate
losses, they are connected to a short measurement tube that has a similar
diameter as the pump outlet. To test this method, it is also possible to
perform a volume measurement in a separate container as a comparison, for
lower flow rates up to approx. 10,000 l/h (2,270 USgal./h).
Information based on theoretical propeller calculations or other flow rate
performance measuring methods is therefore not comparable.
