Safety instructions for installation
A Warning! If you do not obey these instructions, there is a risk of death or injury.

Read and understand the instructions before you use the product.

The product must only be connected to a 12 V electrical system with a negative terminal connected to the chassis.
-
To reduce the risk of damaging the product as a result of a short circuit during the installation, disconnect the negative cable from the battery in the vehicle before you connect the product.
-
Make sure that the product is correctly connected as per the wiring diagram (color coded wires). Incorrect connection can result in incorrect operation of the product and can damage the electrical system in the vehicle.

Make sure that the speakers are correctly connected. The wire marked(-) must be connected to the terminal marked(-).
-
o not connect the right and left speaker wires to each other or to the vehicle body or chassis.
-
Do not cover or block the ventilation openings on the product. Blocked ventilation openings will result in overheating, damage to the product and are a fire risk.
-
Do not dismantle the product, attempt to modify or repair it – risk of malfunction or damage to the product.
-
No functions of the product that can have an adverse effect on traffic safety must be used or adjusted when driving – stop the vehicle first.
-
Do not use the product if the ambient temperature is less than -10 or higher than +50°C.
-
Make sure that all the connections are correct, especially the power supply (high current) and memory (low current). Correct connections minimize the power consumption when switched off
(closed-circuit current consumption) and safeguard the settings in the memory. -
Install the product in such a way that traffic safety and the safe use of the product is not put at risk.

Do not expose the product or any part of it to moisture or water – risk of electric spark and fire.
-
Do not change the fuse holder in the power cord to a fuse with a different size to the original one – the wrong size of fuse can damage the product and is a fire risk.

Adjust the volume to a safe and comfortable level.

Contact the retailer if:
- Water or any other substance has gotten into the product.
- The product is emitting smoke.
- The product is emitting an abnormal smell.
Installation
To install the product
Caution! If the product does not start this could be because of a short circuit in a speaker lead, or because a speaker lead touches the chassis (earth), which trips the safety function on the product. Do a check of the speaker leads.
Note! The product is intended to be installed in the dashboard or in the
center console. Make sure that the front panel is not obstructed.
Note! After installation, make sure that that the brake lights,
indicators, windscreen wipers and other electrical equipment operates
correctly.
To connect wires to the ISO connectors
Warning! Disconnect the negative terminal on the car battery and complete
all the electrical connections before you install the main unit in the
vehicle.
Caution! The car stereo must only be connected to a 12 V electrical
system with a negative terminal connected to the chassis. A polarity converter
is needed if the vehicle has a positive terminal connected to the chassis.
Caution! Insulate all loose wire ends with insulating tape.
Note! If the ignition switch in the vehicle does not have ACC mode the
ignition leads must be connected to a power source that switches on and off
with the ignition key. The battery can be discharged if the ignition leads are
connected to continuously live power source.
- Switch off the ignition, remove the key and disconnect the negative lead from the car battery.
- Connect the inputs and outputs on the product.
- Reconnect the negative lead to the battery. (Figure 3)

To install the main unit
Warning! Install the product in a position where it cannot interfere with
the driver or other persons if a collision occurs.
Caution! Do not install the product where it can be exposed to direct
sunlight or hot air, dust, dirt or strong vibrations.
Caution! Only use the supplied parts for the installation. The use of
other parts can result in malfunction.
Note! Do a function test of the product before permanent installation.
Note! Remove the front panel before installation. Refer to To remove and
install the front panel
- Put the holder in the dashboard. (Figure 4)
- Bend the appropriate fasteners to fix the holder into the dashboard.
- Connect the cables and the ISO connector to the product.
- Install the main unit in the holder. (Figure 5)
- Push the reset button on the product. Refer to reset the product”
To remove and install the frame
- Use the removal tools on each side of the frame to pull the frame off.
- Snap the frame into place.
Note! Make sure that the orientation of the frame is correct. The wide hooks must be on the bottom
To remove and install the front panel

Disconnect the power supply.

Push the lock button
Note! When you press the lock button the panel can easily come loose and drop down as a result of the movement or as a result of vibrations of the vehicle. -
Remove the front panel. (Figure 6)

Fit the right end of the panel in the main unit.
-
Push the left end of the panel until it clicks in place in the main unit.
Caution! On the back of the front panel there is a plug for all the electrical connections between the panel and the main unit. The plug is sensitive. Do not touch it with your nails or any other objects
To remove the main unit
- Remove the front panel. Refer to “3.3 To remove and install the front panel”
- Remove the frame. Refer to “3 2 Jo remoye and jnstan the frame”
- Insert the removal tools in the slots on both sides of the main unit until you hear a click. Slowly pull the tools out to remove the main unit. (Figure 7)
Operation
To start and stop the product
- Do a short push on the ON/OFF button to start the product.
- Do a long push on the ON/OFF button to stop the product.
To use the mute function
- When the product is on, push the ON/OFF button to mute it.
To access the audio menu
- Push the menu button to go to the audio menu.
- Push the menu button repeatedly to browse through the menu options:
- BASS(BAS)
- TREBLE (TRE)
- BALANCE (BAL)
- FADER (FAD)
- SUBWOOFER (SUBW)
- When the required function is shown, set the required level with the volume control within 3 seconds.
To access the system menu
- Push the menu button to navigate to the system menu.
- Push the menu button repeatedly to browse through the menu options. When the required menu item is shown it can be selected. Set the required option with the volume control.
To set the options in the radio data system (RDS)
- Alternative frequencies (AF), ON/OFF.
- Traffic announcements (TA), ON/OFF
- Program type display, PTY off/Music/Speech
To switch the reception (LOC/DX)
- Select local reception or remote reception. Local reception can function better in some areas where the vsignal is very strong.
To set FM mono/stereo reception
- Select reception in mono or stereo from FM stations. The reception from weak or remote stations can be better in mono mode.
To switch frequency area USA/Europe
- Select the required frequency area.
- Wait for 3-4 seconds or push any button to return to normal use.
- When the frequency area has been changed, the product automatically applies settings that are suited for that area.
To set audio prompt (Beep ON/OFF)
A short audio prompt is given to acknowledge when a function is selected.
To use the equalizer. EQ
- Push the button repeatedly to show the available equalizer settings:
- FLAT
- POP
- USER
- TECHNO
- ROCK
- CLASSIC
- JAZZ
- VOCAL
- Set the required level with the volume control.
Note! When the EQ function is switched off the frequency mode is determined by the bass and treble settings
To set loudness (LOU)
Use this function to increase the amplification of the bass frequencies.
- Push the button to activate/deactivate this function.
To set the program source (SRC)
Push this button repeatedly to browse through the program sources.

Note! When a USB device or SD/MMC card is inserted the unit switches automatically to program source USB or SD/ MMC. When the USB memory or SD/MMC card is removed the unit switches automatically to radio mode
To use the radio
Push the button for program source and select radio. Refer to “4.7 To set the
program source (SAC}”
Select frequency.
- A. Use the step buttons for frequency and track selection for seach for a station.
- B. Use the preset radio stations. Refer to “To automatically search for and save radio stations· and “To manually search for and save radio stations”
To automatically search for and save radio stations
- Push the button for program source and select radio. Refer to To set the program source
- Push the AS/BN D button to select a frequency band
- FMl
- FM2
- FM3
- AMI
- AM2
- Push and hold the AS button to start the automatic station search. This function automatically searches for the set frequency band. The search saves the stations that have the strongest reception in the 6 station shortcuts.
- Press the AS button again to stop and switch off this function.
To manually search for and save radio stations
- Set radio as the program source. Refer to the program source
- Push the AS/BN D button to select a frequency band
- Set the required station with the step buttons for frequency and track selection.
- Push the preset button you want to save the station to for at least 2 seconds. The preset number is shown on the display.
To connect AUX external unit

Connect the external unit to the AUX input (A) on the front panel. (Figure 8)
Note! Use a 3.5 mm audio plug. -
Push the button for program source and select AUX
To install and remove an SD/MMC card

Remove the front panel. Refer to “To remove and install the front panel”

Insert the SD card. (Figure 9)
Note! Make sure that the card is inserted correctly.
Note! When a SD/MMC card is inserted the unit switches automatically to program source SD/MMC. -
Push the edge of the inserted SD or MMC card to release the card from the slot.
To connect to the use port
- Remove the cover from the USB port. (Figure 10)
- Insert the USB device. The text USB-LOAD shows in the display to indicate that the USB device is connected correctly and that playback has started.
Caution! If the USB device is large and/or heavy it can cause permanent
and serious damage to the main unit and obstruct access to the buttons on the
front panel. USB devices should be connected with a cable (sold separately).
Note! When a USB device is inserted the product switches automatically to
program source USB.
Note! The product is not compatible with external hard drives or with USB
devices that require drivers to be installed.
To operate external devices
- Use the media control buttons M1-M6 to control the playback functions. Refer to “Product overview” on
- Ml – Start playback of or pause MP3 file. To resume playback, push the button again.
- M2 – Automatically play the first 10 seconds of each track in the program source. Push the button again to return to normal playback of the track.
- M3 -Activate the repeat function. Push the button again to stop the repeat function.
- M4 – Activate playback of the tracks in a random order. Push the button again to stop the random playback.
- M5 – Push the button to jump one file level down. Push the button for more than 1 second to jump 10 tracks back.
- M6 – Push the button to jump one file level up. Push the button for more than 1 second to jump 10 tracks forward.
- Step buttons for frequency and track selection. Push the + button during playback to switch to the next track.
- Push the – button during playback to restart the playback from the beginning of the current track.
- Push the button again to switch playback to the previous track.
- Push and hold one of the buttons for more than 1 second to fast forward or back. Release the button to go back to normal playback.
- AS/BND – Push the AS/BND button. The message TRK-SCH shows on the display. Use the volume control to browse to the required track number. When the required track number is shown, push the ON/OFF button to confirm the selection.
To display metadata
The track number on the file and the elapsed playing time are shown in the
display during playback. Push the display button to show additional metadata,
If the program source is ID3 compatible.
- Track title
- Heading
- Artist name
- Album name
- File name/genre
To connect to Bluetooth
- Push the button for program source and select NO DEVICE. Refer to “To set the program source
- Start the Bluetooth function on the mobile device and select the Bluetooth device MARQUANT095. When the connection has been made, the message PAI RED and the name of the unit are shown.
To use the Bluetooth functions
To receive an incoming call
Incoming calls are shown on the display.
- Push the accept call button to answer the call. Push and hold the accept call button to forward the call.
- Push the decline/end call button to decline or end the call.
- Push the accept call button to dial the most recent number.
To play music
- Push the button for the program source and select Bluetooth (BT AUDIO) mode
- The unit plays the music stored on the mobile device or sent from the mobile device.
To use DAB radio
- Push the button for program source and select DAB mode.
- Push the menu button repeatedly to browse through the following options:
- SCAN
- 12VON/OFF
- PRUNE (DAB RESET)
- RE-CON
- CLK
- BEEP
To use the scan function
- Push the button for program source and select DAB mode.
- Push the menu button to select the station search function SCAN, and confirm by pressing the ON/ /OFF button. The unit searches for DAB stations.
- The stations found are shown in the display and the first station found is played. Push the preset button you want to save the station to for at least 2 seconds. The preset number is shown on the display
To reset the product
Reset the product if the following occurs:
- The product has been recently installed and all the electrical connections have been completed.
- A function button does not operate correctly.
- An error code shows in the display.
- Remove the front panel.
- Push the reset button. (Figure 11)
Note! If the product does not work correctly after the reset has been performed, clean the plug on the back of the front panel.
Maintenance
To replace batteries in the remote control
Replace all the batteries in the remote control if the range of the remote
control diminishes, or the product does not respond to the remote control.
Note! Insert the new batteries with the correct polarity.
To clean the product
- Clean plug (A) on the front panel with a cloth with isopropanol. (Figure 12)
- Clean the front panel with a dry, soft cloth
Disposal
To discard the product
- Make sure that you follow local regulations when you discard the product. Do not burn the product.
