IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and/or injury to persons, including the following:

    Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before cleaning appliance and putting on or taking off parts.

  4. Do not operate any appliance with a damaged supply cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner. Supply cord replacement and repairs must be conducted by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard. Contact Customer Service for information on examination, repair, or adjustment as set forth in the Limited Warranty.

  5. The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may cause injuries.

  6. Do not use outdoors.

  7. Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in a heated oven.

  8. To disconnect, turn all controls to Off ( ); then remove plug from wall outlet. To unplug, grasp the plug and pull from the outlet. Never pull from the power cord. Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot oil or other hot liquid.

  9. Do not use appliance for other than intended use.

  10. Do not operate unattended.

  11. Clean air fryer interior carefully. Do not scratch or damage heating element tube. Do not clean with metal scouring pads. Pieces can break off the pad and touch electrical parts, creating a risk of electrical shock.

  12. Oversize foods or metal utensils must not be inserted in an air fryer as they may create a fire or risk of electrical shock. Do not operate the appliance by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
    CAUTION! HOT SURFACE. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during and after operation.

  14. This appliance is intended for household use only.

  15. This appliance is only intended for the preparation, cooking, and serving of foods. This appliance is not intended for use with any nonfood materials or products.

  16. WARNING: Electrical Shock Hazard: This appliance is provided with a polarized plug (one wide blade) to reduce the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit fully into the outlet, reverse the
    plug. If it still does not fit, have an electrician replace the outlet.

  17. The length of the cord used on this appliance was selected to reduce the hazards of becoming tangled in or tripping over a longer cord. If a longer cord is necessary, an approved extension cord may be used.

  18. The electrical rating of the extension cord must be equal to or greater than the rating of the appliance. Care must be taken to arrange the extension cord so that it will not drape over the countertop or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or accidentally tripped over.

  19. This appliance is not a toy, and children should not play with it.

  20. Children should be supervised to ensure that they DO NOT play with the appliance.

  21. Unplug from outlet when not in use, during assembly, during disassembly, and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting or taking off parts and before cleaning.
    WARNING: Read this User guide carefully and completely, and retain for future reference. Failure to adhere to safety instructions may result in serious injury.

  22. DO NOT tamper with any of the safety mechanisms.

  23. DO NOT place on or near a hot gas, electric burner and or in a heated oven. Heat from an external source will damage the

  24. NEVER put baking or parchment paper into the air fryer without food on top. Air circulation can cause paper to lift and touch heating element.

  25. ALWAYS use heat-safe containers. Be extremely cautious if using containers that aren’t metal or glass.

  26. NEVER put the appliance against the wall or other appliances when cooking. There should be at least 5 inches of free space for the back side, left/right sides and the upper side of the appliance.

  27. DO NOT place anything on top of your air fryer. DO NOT store anything inside your air fryer other than the included accessories when not in use.

  28. CAUTION! This appliance is hot during operation and retains heat for some time after turning OFF. ALWAYS wear proper hand protection when handling hot materials and allow metal parts to cool before cleaning. DO NOT place anything on top of the appliance while it is operating or while it is hot.

  29. Avoid making contact with moving parts. DO NOT place any combustible materials on the cooking chamber such as paper, cardboard, plastic, styrofoam or wood.

  30. Proper maintenance is recommended after each use. Refer to care and maintenance section of this user guide. Allow unit to cool before cleaning.
    An air fryer works with hot air only. NEVER fill the basket with oil or fat. This could result in fire and/or personal injury. To avoid risk of fire, property damage and personal injury,

  31. DO NOT spray cooking oil into the cooking chamber.
    WARNING! DO NOT touch any accessories during or immediately after cooking. Allow unit to cool.
    CAUTION! During air frying, hot steam is released from the air outlet opening.

  32. Keep your hands and face distance from the steam and from the air outlet opening. Also, be careful of hot steam and air when you remove the Air Fryer Basket from the appliance.
    CAUTION! DO NOT block the air vents.

  33. NEVER use the air fryer without the basket in place. Air Fryer will not operate unless air fryer basket is fully closed.

  34. To avoid personal injury, ALWAYS use proper hand protection and exercise caution when adding or removing food from the air fryer basket.
    CAUTION! After hot air frying, the cooking tray and the air fryer basket and the cooked foods are hot. Extreme caution must be used when handling the air fryer basket.

  35. NEVER place unprotected hands inside the appliance until it has cooled to room temperature.

  36. DO NOT touch hot surfaces with unprotected hands.
    CAUTION! Extreme caution must be observed when disposing hot oil or liquids from the air fryer basket.
    WARNING! DO NOT turn the air fryer basket over after cooking as the hot cooking tray may fall out and create a safety hazard.

  37. When cooking naturally high fat foods, DO NOT turn the air fryer basket over after cooking as the cooking tray may fall out including the excess fats collected on the basket which can cause a safety hazard. Use a tong to transfer food from the basket.

  38. DO NOT rinse the appliance under tap.

  39. If the appliance starts emitting black smoke, immediately turn off and unplug your air fryer. White smoke is normal which can be caused by heating fat or food splashing. Black smoke indicates food is burning or there is a circuit problem. Wait for smoke to stop before opening the air fryer basket. Contact customer service for any assistance.
    WARNING! After air frying, make sure to place the air fryer basket on a stable, level, clean, heat-resistant and dry surface when transferring food from the basket.

  40. NEVER move a hot Air Fryer or an Air Fryer containing hot food. Allow to cool before moving.
    WARNING! This Air Fryer should not be used to boil water.
    WARNING! This Air Fryer should never be used to deep fry foods.

  41. All users of this appliance must read and understand this instruction manual before operating or cleaning this appliance. Failure to follow any of the important safeguards and instructions for safe use is a misuse of your appliance that can void your warranty and create the risk of serious injury.

  42. This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:

    • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • Farm houses;
    • By clients in hotels, motels, and other residential type environments;
    • Bed and breakfast type environments.
ELECTRICAL SAFETY

CAUTION: To avoid risk of electric shock, NEVER immerse the cord, plug, or air fryer base in water or other liquids.

  1. DO NOT modify the plug in any way, as doing so will void the warranty.
  2. DO NOT pull, twist or mistreat the power cord.
  3. ALWAYS POWER OFF and UNPLUG the appliance when it is not in use or BEFORE cleaning.
  4. DO NOT let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces. The cord can get tangled or cause the appliance to fall. Bring it to a qualified technician for examination, repair or electrical and mechanical adjustment.
  5. DO NOT allow the cord to hang over the edge of the table or counter. DO NOT pull, twist, or damage the power cord. DO NOT allow cord to touch hot surfaces, including the stove.
  6. DO NOT operate this appliance with a damaged cord or plug or if the appliance malfunctions, or is dropped or damaged in any manner.

ELECTRICAL INFORMATION:
For safety reasons, the cord length of this appliance was selected to reduce Safety Hazards that may occur with a long cord. Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. If an extension cord is used: (1) the marked electrical rating of the extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance, and (2) the longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the counter or tabletop where it could be accidentally pulled off the counter or table or tripped over.

PLASTICIZER WARNING
CAUTION: To prevent Plasticizers from migrating from the finish of the countertop
or tabletop or other furniture, place NON-PLASTIC coasters or place mats between the appliance and the finish of the countertop or tabletop. Failure to do so may cause the finish to darken; permanent blemishes may occur or stains can appear.

How to Use

CAUTION! Hot Surface. The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high during and after operation. Hot air and steam exit from air vents on back of unit during cooking.

Before first use: Wash Pan and Crisping Insert in hot, soapy water. Rinse and dry.

  1. Place Air Fryer in a location where Air Vents on back of unit are not blocked. Plug into outlet. Power On/Off Button ( ) will illuminate blue.

  2. Hold Pan Handle and pull straight out to remove Pan with Crisping Insert from Base.

  3. To add Crisping Insert, place fingers in center holes and use other hand to push straight down until level with bottom of Pan. To remove Insert, place fingers in center holes and pull straight up.

  4. Add food on top of Crisping Insert.

    • Lightly misting fresh food with oil will produce crispier results.
    • Do not fill Pan more than 1/2 full.
    • Always make sure Crisping Insert is on bottom of Pan before adding food and cooking.
  5. Slide Pan with Crisping Insert back into Base.

  6. Touch and hold Power On/Off ( ) to turn on Air Fryer or touch Menu Button ( ) to select program, then touch Power On/Off ) to start cooking.

    • The default cooking temperature and time can be changed at any time by touching the Temperature or Time (+) or (–) Button to adjust.
  7. Hold Handle of Pan, gently pull straight out of Base, and shake. If recipe calls for stirring or turning over, place Pan on a flat, heatproof surface. Use only utensils which are high-heat resistant (400°F [205°C]) and prevent scratching of nonstick surfaces.

  8. Slide Pan with Crisping Insert back into Base and cooking will automatically start if any cooking time remains.

  9. Air Fryer will automatically beep and turn off when Timer reaches 0:00. Fan will run after cooking time ends.
    Press Power On/Off Button ( ) and Power Indicator Light will remain illuminated in blue until Air Fryer is unplugged.
    To remove Pan with hot food, hold Handle and pull straight out from Base. Place Pan on a flat, heatproof surface.

  10. Unplug.

NOTES:

  • Foods may need to be flipped, stirred, or rotated during cooking. Cooking times are suggestions. Cook food until crisp and golden brown.
  • When cooking heavy foods such as a whole chicken, lift food out of Pan using metal forks or tongs.

NOTE: Review manufacturer-suggested cook times for these and other foods or adjust time for desired crispness.

Care and Cleaning
  1. Unplug. Allow to cool completely.
  2. Hand wash Pan and Crisping Insert in hot, soapy water; rinse and dry.
  3. Wipe outside of the Air Fryer with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or sponges; this will damage exterior of Air Fryer.
  4. Interior of Air Fryer can be wiped with a damp cloth and dried.

Troubleshooting

Air Fryer doesn’t work.

  • Appliance isn’t plugged in. Plug into outlet.
  • Timer has not been set. Follow “How to Use” to set Timer.

Food isn’t cooked.

  • Too much food in Pan. Increase cooking time and continue to cook.
  • Temperature was set too low. Increase temperature and continue to cook.

Food cooked unevenly.

  • Too much food on Crisping Insert. Shake food halfway through cooking time or more frequently if needed.

Fresh vegetables are not crisp enough.

  • Cooking time too short. Increase cooking time and continue to cook.
  • Lightly misting fresh foods with oil will produce crispier results.
  • Temperature is too low. Increase temperature and continue to cook.

Fresh French fries not crisp.

  • Add a small amount of vegetable oil, enough to lightly coat potatoes.
  • Pieces are too large. Cut potatoes smaller or thinner next batch.

Smoke coming from Air Fryer.

  • Excessive oil dripped into the Pan or splattered onto heating coils. Only use small amounts of oil in air fryers.
    Meat or poultry isn’t cooked enough.

  • Too much food on Crisping Insert. Meat and poultry should be cooked in a single layer for even cooking.

LIMITED WARRANTY

The limited warranty obligations are confined to the terms set forth below:
We warrant this product against defects in materials and workmanship for a period of two years from the date of original retail purchase. This limited warranty is valid in the countries UAE, Oman, Qatar, Bahrain, Kenya, Jordan, Tanzania, Rwanda, Lebanon, Kuwait, KSA and can be claimed only in the respective country where the product is purchased. This limited warranty comes with the product at no extra charge, however shipping and processing fees will be incurred for returns, replacements and/or refunds.

When you contact our customer service department you will be asked for your name, address, telephone number and to provide proof of the original purchase (receipt) containing a description of the product(s), purchase date, and the appropriate Hamilton Beach bar code(s). Before you send your product for limited warranty service please make sure to keep a copy of all relevant documents for your files (receipt, etc.). It is always recommended to purchase product insurance and tracking services when sending your product for service. Remember, shipping and processing fees will be incurred and are not covered by the two-year limited warranty.

EXCLUSIONS AND LIMITATIONS
This Two-Year Limited Warranty applies only to Hamilton Beach products distributed by or for Caliber Brands that can be identified by the “Hamilton Beach” trademark, trade name, logo and bar code. This Two-Year Limited Warranty does not apply to any other products that may appear to be authentic, but were not distributed/sold by Caliber Brands.
Normal wear and tear is not covered by this limited warranty.
This limited warranty applies to consumer use only, and is void when the product is used in a commercial or institutional setting.
This limited warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser and is not transferable. In addition, proof of purchase must be demonstrated.
Repair or replacement of the product (or, if repair or replacement is not feasible, a refund of the purchase price) is the exclusive remedy of the consumer under this limited warranty. Caliber Brands shall not be liable for any incidental or consequential damages for breach of this limited warranty or any implied warranty on this product.
This limited warranty does not apply: (a) to damage caused by accident, abuse, misuse, or misapplication; (b) to damage caused by improper maintenance (including unauthorized parts service); (c) to a product or a part that has been modified in any way; (d) if any Hamilton Beach bar code or trademark has been removed or defaced; and or (e) if the product has been used with an adapter/converter.
